That exchange and the homoerotic thawing of Zeppeli's arm were the highlights of the episode…
Homoerotic ? You're homoerotic.
Nothing that implies Zeppeli and/or Speedwagon can be homoerotic. It's just a degree of manliness that you can't handle.

I disagree, JoJo has always been fabulous. Or homoerotic if you want to call it that.

Wait, there's stand who's power is to have sex with everything it touches?Ahahahahaha!Looks like I'll have to pick Part VI back up sooner than expected.

That…might be taken wrong out of context. Essentially the stand ability displayed there takes effect once someone touches the snails. Unfortunately for Jolyne, these snails can rapidly reproduce, leading to that line. I was really just pitching in on the homoerotic discussion though. Only in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure!
Well Jolyne is somewhat peculiar in that regard.I mean, the very first thing we see of Jolyne Kujo is…her whining about how a prison guard caught her masturbating. And there's this:

LOL, what the…?
I thought you were joking from the start! Yep, it's a fake. A very disturbing fake, haha.
Yeah, but I did not alter the snail one in any way.
No, the page you posted is just like that. I love Jolyne for those remarks.
That… is definitely fake.
But anyone who claims that JJBA is not homoerotic is out of their mind. I'm not saying that's a bad thing.
Jolyne's sexual frustration is her second most notable trait, just after her angsting
@Cyan:

Hey, hey, she got over that at around the halfway point; and even before that, it was more subdued than most.

The frustration or the angst
Wow, that fake is extremely disturbing, but the snail pic is true, Jolyne and her bizarre remarks.
.
And there are homoerotic vibes in all JoJo, not that they are true, but Araki likes to write and draw these one time or another in the parts.
I noticed nothing of the sort throughout it.
Really? JoJo is such a ~fabulous~ series.
Parts 1-4 and 6-8 have about a 5 or a 6 out of 10 on the Elton John scale of Fabulousness, this is not disputable.
Vento Aureo has about an 87 on the Elton John scale and about 2 or 3 Freddie Murceries as well.
By the way, my best friend who is a Jojo virgin is watching the new anime with me, and she LOVES it.
JoJo's fabulousness even extends to non-JoJo things.
Take for example Araki's take on Hokuto no Ken's Kenshiro:
!

The angst. If the above panel didn't give it away, she's always frustrated.
I thought of fabulous as extravagant.
Not homoerotic, there's a vibe yes but…
I noticed nothing of the sort throughout it.
Seriously? Here's what I can remember right now:

That's actually in a cover in Battle Tendency if i'm not wrong.
And i daresay that this pose is the most used and most known in the Jojoverse, if there's any pose that defines Jojo as a manga it's certainly this one.
Seriously? Here's what I can remember right now:
- The pillar men, like… everything about them. Wham and ACDC even called the poison containers that they gave to Joseph "engagement rings".
- The magnetism fight where Joseph and Abdul get stuck together in part 3.
- Bruno licking Giorno in the face.
- The whole "gravity" thing with Dio and Pucci.
- A lot of official art and volume covers. Case in point.
- Anasui, Jolyne's love interest, was originally female.
In order
-I can agree with you to a point, but saying "everything" is a large exaggeration.
-played for laughs, didn't mean anything
-Although it doesn't really carry through the manga, yeah, that scene was heavily Bruno x Giorno. It doesn't help that he only uses that trick once.
-I agree with you on this one
-I thought that Araki designs the covers and poses after fashion magazines or something? Anyway, regardless of how they look, it doesn't bear on the story.
-Definitely a redesign, although the canon explanation could be that he was using Diver Down to alter his appearance.
I don't really get what the whole hangup on sexual orientation is anyway. It's not like you're gonna see a sex scene, and a couple will rarely if ever be acknowledged if they're the same gender. So it really just comes down to how deep their bonds are, right? There may be some nuances in the actions of lovers as opposed to friends, but it's all the same fundamentally.
That's actually in a cover in Battle Tendency if i'm not wrong.

It's from Phatom Blood.
And that was precisely my point.
Jojo's Part 1 just feels like Araki is trying to re-imagine Hokuto no Ken. The art style, the ideals of manliness and the tragic finale, it all takes so much from HnK that it's hard not to see Jonathan as Kenshiro sometimes. I think the biggest difference betwen them is Jonathan is still young and learning while Kenshiro, despite not being much older, got pretty seasoned in that appocalypse that sets the series off. If Jonathan had lived and took a role like Joseph did in later parts we would simply be seeing Kenshiro.
From part 2 onwards it deviates more from that until it feels and looks nothing like HnK. With the exception of Jotaro, which is also pretty Kenshiro-like.
P.S. The ideals of manliness and art style I mentioned are not exclusive to HnK, they were part of a bigger scene of shounen manga in the 70's and 80's but JoJo really seems to take more from HnK than let's say Saint Seiya or Kinnukuman.
After that period came Dragon Ball that was made by a gag mangaka so it brought ideas not yet seen in fighting manga and it changed the genre.
Hey hey hey, just so we're clear, I'm not saying the innuendos and suggestive official art have any impact on character relationships (at least not in most cases) and I wasn't complaining either. The fabulous camp is part of JoJo's charm, and I wouldn't want it any other way.
If you were only referring to part 1, then yeah, I don't think I can remember anything like that either. Earlier I had assumed you meant the series as a whole.
It just occurred to me:
! couldn't Polnareff have returned to his body at the end of part 5? Once Narancia in Giorno's body died and Giorno healed the wounds, Giorno was able to return to his body. Couldn't the same happen with Polnareff?

Because Araki…
Or if you want a serious answer:
! Maybe Coco Jumbo's stand kept his soul inside the turtle, even if SCR ceased to exist.
How is that an answer? There was never any trouble returning objects from inside the turtle before.
How is that an answer? There was never any trouble returning objects from inside the turtle before.
Well, that's why I put maybe there, because in reality he never explained it just like in Emporio's case.
.
But you asked, so I gave you an answer about what it possibly looks like, so there it is.
EDIT: Another unexplained case, even if this one isn't important, is the power of the arrow…
! First it goes to ''pulling out someone's spirit'', then it goes to ''virus'' that infects people and cause stands to appear.
I'm less than 20 chapters away from completing SBR than i'm gonna take a long break from JoJo and go read other manga's.
Did anyone else here think that when President Valentine first showed up that he looked like some weird midget. It seems that his appearance changed the further the story got, honestly before I didn't see him as menacing but now in these D4C chapters he's got that main villian vibe down to a T.

His appearance changed when he got the corpse heart I assumed. It made him appear younger and leaner.
Also JoJolion only has like 15 chapters so it's not too much longer if you just want to catch up.
@G.A.G: yeah, part 5 opened up a ton of plot holes and wall-bangers in regards to the stand arrow.
@GEPETTO'SMONSTER: You're right. Valentine's original character design is more at odd's then his finished character design that anyone else in the series. The second look really suits him. He started off bland, but he really came into his own as a villain. And you're in the middle of it right now, but needless to say the battle against him is a spectacle to behold. It's easily among the best fights in the series.

Been watching the new anime having little knowledge of the series beforehand. (tho the homoerotic stuff I felt was obvious, even from an outsider's casual glance at the series) I'm loving how over the top old-school melodramatic everything that happens is. So far (5 eps in) Speedwagon is simply walking exposition who happens to be quite hotblooded! He makes me laugh every time! I loved Dio's line about how many breads they've eaten before.
@ Conekiller: glad you're enjoying it. It's great that the series is getting more attention now. By the way, if you've been enjoying it so far, you're in for a real treat. It only gets better after the first arc (which, according to my calculations, should end in 3-5 episodes).
Also, I was looking over some the first chapters of Stone Ocean again, and this part really stuck out to me:
!
What the flying fish was Jotaro thinking? Not only did he leave a stand arrow in the hands of his defenseless wife, he tells her to give it to his child when she's in trouble, with no explanation at all? Let me reiterate: Jotaro gave a stand arrow to his child! The same arrow that can kill people with a touch. The same arrow that can give any number of people supernatural powers. Jotaro was worried about it falling into the wrong hands back in part 4, but in part 6 he's totally fine giving it to someone who hasn't the slightest clue as to it's purpose, and could very well pawn it off for jewelry or something? I don't think Jotaro divorced Jolyne's mother, it was the reverse.
His appearance changed when he got the corpse heart I assumed. It made him appear younger and leaner.
True, I'm assuming that's what he looked like in his youth. He is something like 48 years old after all.

Or Araki decided that he didn't want his final villain to look like Humpty-Dumpty. One or the other.

Yeah, even if Jotaro knew…
! She was going to awaken a stand…
It was very careless of him to deliver something important as that to someone who doesn't know anything.

Well, maybe he finally decided to make Valentine more appealing and used the corpse motif for it trying to doesn't look like a subtle change.
I like how Valentine turned out. The first glimpse of him in the train made me dislike him - chubby, dwarfy schemer behind the curtains. The one that will send pawns to death, but will never get into fire himself, perhaps even losing his composure when facing a danger. Good thing he turned out looking different. Looks make the anticipated personality and actions.
Considering the new episode I have only two words: HEI BEIBI!
Of all of the times I wished I could read moonrunes, this is probably the worst:
http://www.jojoroyale.com/
I mean, just look at what the prizes announced so far are! And we've still got 7 unannounced!
So, do we know yet how Jojo is doing Ratings/sales wise yet? I heard it's doing good, but my source couldn't remember his source so bleh…
The transition to the ending, this week, was fucking beautiful.
! Geez I'm going to end up crying next week.

I agree. The anime added a much needed gravitas.
All the emotions flowed so well this chapter!
I'm even more pumped!
