Manga reel's my favorite part, followed by the one where masked Dio is getting shot up by policemen.

I love the song sfm. And I just looked at the lyrics for the first time (Duwang's opening "translation" amused me so much I forgot to actually see what he lyrics were) and I adore how it was written for the show and so fits wonderfully instead of just being some generic…thing (gg's translation):
Once, there were two shooting stars descending from Heaven flying into an ocean of emotion. And from their impact, a ripple of strife exploded! One led the path of pride under guidance from the sun while the other strove for unbound ambition no matter the cost. The star of the Sun, unwavering, burning with vigor, radiates a courageous flame engulfing its entire being! Both stars ready to collide, for it's in the blood of all.
<3 Anyways it's details like this that makes me happy, since it's obvious the anime staff is putting so much love into the adaptation.
Freakin' awesome show, so awesome. So epic, so fun, yes. This is the good stuff.
The thing about this series is that ALL of the parts are separate. They have a solid conclusion and are only LOOSELY tied together. It's one of the things I really like about this series for two reasons. 1, it means he's free to try new things and isn't bound to make all new ideas build off old ones. It allows the series to stay fresh and go in new directions without betraying what came before it. And 2, it makes the story a lot more about the journey than the ending. Which I really dislike when everyone judges stuff by the ending, and sometimes fixation on it makes the story less enjoyable. Seeing as there are MANY endings because the PARTS end. Though they still have some loose connections, the same story doesn't get drawn out forever to build to some "ultimate" end for everything. Characters can have smaller conclusions without being drawn out forever and ever, constantly being topped. Then it can reset.
So I really don't mind the whole "Part 5 doesn't have to do with the main characters of the other parts" thing. Because none of the parts REALLY have to do with the other parts, they only have occasional loose ties, like the characters being relatives of past protagonists.
That's one of the things I like about Jojo as well, the only thing I disagree with is the ending part.
Sometimes an ending really is just that bad. (not talking about JJBA of course)
This episode was sex on wheels. That Dio strut up the wall, hilariously long fall, all those wryyys, that "GOOD BYE JOJO", that Belt Grap.
It's censored to high heck of course (but obviously the scene will be uncensored on the BDs), but it was nice episode. DP can do suprisingly well with it's penny budget.

Yeah, all the important scenes were spot on. It's a shame David Production is such a small studio when they have so much talent at their hands. I hope Jojo will bring in enough cash for them to up their production values.

Aw man you couldve posted the stream.
I miss the streaming every single week :(
smothers myself with Koyasu's voice <3 <3 <3
Fun fun episode. The Censor Darkness is cracking me up but I prefer that to changing scenes entirely.
Link please ?

Sorry. Wasn't even sure he was going to stream this time, as you can see he was late.
Thanks !
I like how the VA's tone shifted from the usual to a somewhat twisted one in this episode, and the WRYYYs were great, the first one kinda disappointed me since it was the same as the PS2 one (i like the meme's one better) but then he just became what it should sound like to me (i know the very first one was meant to be silent and threatening but still..), even KUWAA was there which show how much attention is put into the details.
This is just great.
"GOODBYE JOJO!" Such a manly episode! But that censorship…
There was a moment where the screen was completely black for like three seconds.
Some of the visuals and animation were fantastic IMHO.
And those WRRYYs were fabulously awesome. You can tell Koyasu is having so much fun voicing Dio.
Dat "Muda Muda Muda" was so epic, probably one of the best things I have heard in this anime season.
"This Blu-Ray, why do I crave it?!"
Also, this episode was awesome, especially Speedwagon's over the top monologues…
WRYYYYYY
it's good to have you back dio
This episode was fantastic. Dio was sublime, it's clear his VA is having a blast doing his character.
Next week, fucking Zeppelli!!!
omg this episode was brilliant. From the WRRYYYS to the belt grab. GOODBYE JOJO and suddenyl a flashback to his childhood. I haven't read this series but this episode gave a much better impression for me
Koyasu's fantastic as usual. His subtle shift between the human Dio and fabulous vampire Dio was a nice touch and he sounded pretty intimidating with a speck of pure fabulous.
Still,I'm sorta used to the more inhuman sounding WRYYYYs,due to the game's soundclips.
Gotta mention that even the annoying shading was unable to properly censor the fabulous dismemberment that was going on.
Also,dat stroll up the wall…
'Good Bye JoJo!' cracks me up every time.
"This Blu-Ray, why do I crave it?!"
I couldnt stop cracking up at that especially since he was shrieking the line.
Seriously, this is too awesome.
It's crazy over the top awesome sure, but there's an undeniable intelligence and talent behind it.
The storyline is really sweet too. I really like how it feels more like a western/european story than a japanese one.
And Dio climbing the wall yelling "Muda Muda", or the "goodbye Jojo"…just great.
Not to mention the style and fabulous-ness, with a lot of flair, of the whole thing
Watching it with GG's subs adds a certain hilarity to it too.
I mean, I know they're old-school british noblemen but, there's just no way anyone would go to the trouble of talking like that under such extreme circumstances.
everybody get DUWANG's subs for this

DUWANG subs really are the only subs you need to be watching.
Censorship issues aside, this episode was amazing from start to finish. The dialogue, the action, EVERYTHING!!! I honestly can't remember the last time I had this much fun watching an anime. Even the guys at my anime club are enjoying the hell out of this series, and they've been cynics about the anime industry for years!
I've also noticed across the web that people are taking some issues to Dio's WWWRRRYYYY and the fact that it doesn't sound like the meme version. At first I sympathized with them but then after sitting down and giving the matter some thought, I've come to the conclusion that that is much ado about nothing. The intensity of Koyasu's WWRRRRY is still there and while it did not meet the same pitch as the game version (to which was obviously put through a pitch filter), it was still noticeable and delivered the same campy vibe. Even the low pitched version that Dio gave off at the beginning came off more as a hunter who is casually hunting its prey and I find it fitting given the current circumstances. It was only during the more climactic moments that Dio used a higher pitch and that was obviously because of the greater conflict put in front of him. So the more greater the conflict presented to Dio, the more insane he gets and thus, the higher the WRRRRY pitch!
Besides, I have every reason to believe that Araki has a greater hand in what is going down in this production. I think he knows more about how WRRRRY should be delivered than some meme-iacs on the net.
Chapter 15 is out: http://www.batoto.net/read/_/137298/jojos-bizarre-adventure-part-8-jojolion_ch15_by_no-group/2
It was far shorter than usual. Did it move back to weekly or something?
How long until we get to hear Koyasu screaming "ZA WARUDO"?
Less than a year.
Less than a year.
That's pretty optimistic. I do hope they get to keep going after this season. And heeeell yes, this season is glorious.
This is one of the flagships of Shonen Jump of 25 years ago.
The only presedent of doing something as stupid as canceling this kind of series is Dragon Ball Kai, that wasn't animating something new but editing old content.
And also, with this pace, Phantom Blood will be over before the year ends, I think, Battle tendency wasn't that long, but I can see them taking a lot of time with Stardust Crusaders.
The pace of the anime is outstanding, and the art direction is superb. It's probably one of the very few times I don't care about the animation being average.
Not having to suffer though minutes and minutes of boring padding feels so refreshing. Almost every second of the anime is cool in one way or another, be it because of its hilarity or the over-dramatism or the gore or the Jojo-ism.
This will be my first anime in years. Worth it!
Also, Jojolion is the shit. I'm freaking loving it. It has the charm of part 4 with a cohesive, central mistery that drives the plot, something I wanted more of during Part 4 (although the episodic nature of that part is what a lot of guys here loved the most, so that might be just me; it kicked ass anyways, that's for sure).
And to add my own JoJo ranking, as everyone else already did: Battle Tendency > Stardust Crusaders > Diamond is Unbreakable > Steel Ball Run > Phantom Blood = Vento Aureo (Although I still like both of them, Aureo has some serious plot and balancing problems and Phantom's first half is kinda boring ( but the second half is awesome) so I'm torn with it). Still unsure when I'll read part 6 seeing how everyone here marks it as the worst one and being pretty boring, and part 8 as much as I'm loving it is still far too early to rank.
By the way,are the Stands supposed to have voices similar to their users?I'm asking this because I think that Akio Otsuka would downright perfect for Star Platinum.
Also, while we're at it,how likely are the Stands to be portrayed via CG?Many Stands are very robotic in appearence, and we all know that 2D mechanical animation is becoming scarcer by the day,so I don't think that's out of the realm of possibility, especcialy if the show keeps being so light on budget.
How would you feel about CG Stands?
Star Platinum didn't talk if I remember correctly, only a very few stands did talk, echo act 3 comes to my mind right now.
I really hope it doesn't get canceled because I'm enjoying this so much. The animation is bad, and the character designs are meh, but other than that I have little to complain about. And the pacing is just incredible: More than 5 chapters an episode. I love this.
As for the stands, CG is a possibility. No way to know for sure of course. That said, I doubt it will make things look worse than they already are. It could be glorious improvement even. And no, from what I remember of the OVA stands don't sound like the users. The users can channel their voices through the stands if they want to though.
I mean him screaming ORA ORA ORA,actually.
Yes,I'm honestly suggesting using a top class VA for a role that basically requires him to continously scream a single line of aggresive gibberish and nothing else.
Hey,if they can hire Norio Wakamoto to provide sound effects for a motorcycle, then why the hell not?Speaking of whom,I'd like him to work that MUDA as The World, just because.

I hope you're right, but what I've heard is it's only confirmed for 26 episodes so far, which we're assuming covers the first two parts. And being an endless popular manga doesn't always translate to long anime runs for whatever reason. But I do hope we get a long Jojo anime run, that would be a beautiful thing.
Just watched episode 3, fantastico! It really is awesome how well done this is.

Nah, "everyone" is going a bit far, personally I think it's the best arc after SBR and Battle Tendency. The most common complaint is about the ending, which I won't spoil here, but I'm pretty sure it's generally ranked higher than parts 1, 4 and 5. Could be wrong though. Either way I suggest reading it and forming your own opinion.

No part is universally considered the worst, but If you check the polls on the JJBA wiki or narutoforums, there's an obvious trend. In one of then over 90 people voted, and only 1 called Stone Ocean their favorite. In the other there were over 900 participants, and Stone Ocean came in second to last, only slightly ahead of Phantom Blood. In both cases, all of the other parts were leading by a wide margin, several times the amount of votes Stone Ocean (and Phantom Blood) got.
I like every part of Jojo, but I'll admit that part 6 was the only one that ever felt like a chore to get through. It gets much better towards the end, but the first 3/4 of Stone Ocean are of a generally lower quality than usual. I'd still suggest you read it, and if you're bored feel free to skip ahead. That's one of the perks of an episodic manga.
Most JoJo fans I've talked to have Stone Ocean as neither their favorite or their least favorite. There's a lot of good things about Part 6 (the villain in particular is my favorite aspect of Stone Ocean) but otherwise it's just sort of there. Not bad but not really outstanding either.
Jolyne's a really really boring protagonist
At least there's Weather Report~
Part 6 has some of the best stands though. Remember Feng Shuei guy?

Are you kidding me? That fight is a contender for worst fight in the entirety of JJBA. It just goes on and on and on, and even though every protagonist is there F.F. has the bizarre compulsion to take the guy 1 on 1. It's not as clever as usual, and most of the fight is just watching F.F. getting owned over and over. As for the stand, it was really rather bland, more of a means to an end than anything. Actually, besides part 3, I think every part had better stands than 6.

Exactly. My biggest problem with Part 6 is only one: Araki ran out of ideas for stands.
The Disney guy, the Feng Shui guy, The green baby's stand, Survivor, just to name a few.
I loved the stands in part 6, they were so bizarre and hilarious. Killer Mickey Mouse!
