Hey, I'm replying to a lobster thread!
I saw a commercial for it on TV, even half considered making a thread here but figured it'd get some nice "Lol, Jack Black". It's kinda an original idea I haven't heard of, but I'm not so sure if it can hold an entire movie. The plot sounds more like a side story going on in an episode of a sitcom while the other characters are dealing with another story.
IM planning on seeing it tomorrow :3 Hopefully get the cash haha.
I really don't like Jack Black, but I want to see this movie. Hopefully Jack Black doesnt go super wacky for this movie.
This is from the same guy who did Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?!
I'm very disappointed.
The concept is pretty awesome, but seeing as how I'm broke, I probably won't see it.
it looks to be a really good movie
but buuhan1 depending on who you speak to the orignallity of this movie comes into question
Looks like a great movie :D
Just saw a commercial for this like five minutes ago. It really didn't look interesting or funny at all to me. Probably because I hate Jack Black. I'll see what ratings it gets.
It looks good. I may see it.
Although, like Moria, I may just wait for the ratings.
this is the most rediculous movie ever.
this is the most rediculous movie ever.
But in a good way
They can't all the Hayden Christensens…
It looks pretty decent.
Hopefully this isn't one of those movies in which all the funny parts are in the previews.
Expanding on my previous post, this looks like a movie that was made not for plot nor for jokes but just to reinact scenes from famous movies. That's what turns me off most.
A friend of mine went to a private screening, he said it was excellent. So high hopes over here.
(I'm in need of a DO WANT macro here)
I'm going to see it in the cinemas and I'm going to buy the DVD.
no, lobster, in a bad way, and whoever mentioned, no pun. this looks like such a bad idea. like really.
a movie store loses it's movies, so the smart guys who werk there decide to remake them?
THAT. IS. DUMB.

….....oh dear god.

What the crap did I just watch?
Yeah, kind of like that crap movie Godfather where people kill each other with good plot and great acting. I mean, who wants to see that?
But on a serious note, the premise of the plot may seem silly but it doesnt make a movie bad or good. Its all about delivery at times. And it is getting good reviews. I might check it out when it comes out on DVD.

…...goddamnit. thats a good point. :getlost:
This was a pretty damn good movie. Probably the funniest, not to mention most original, comedy I've seen in quite awhile. Its also got quite a bit of heart and soul to it as well, which caught me off guard; I'm glad there was more to it than just the movie remakes. (Which were fucking hilarious mind you.)
Can't wait to get the DVD.
I've been curious about this movie for a while. My local theaters all start playing it this Friday, so I'll probably try and check it out then.
I also really like the promotion they have on the movie's web site. It's a pretty cool way of building up anticipation for it. Michel Gondry's sweded version of the movie trailer is especially great.
Just saw it.
It was amazingly amazing.
I cried at the end :[
It was nice that they didn't spoil any of the good parts in the trailers either.
For a movie that sucked so much in the beginning, it turned out great and I loved it./

That was a girl who made the movie btw.

If you mean the director, he's a man.
Michel Gondry is about as feminine as my avatar.
So I finally saw this movie. I thought it was excellent. It was funny, but at the same time it had a point to it. I recommend it to anyone who likes good movies. Anyway, looking up "Sweded" on Youtube provides a good amount of laughs. The Lord of the Rings one (which is official, made by the cast and crew of Be Kind,) Is hilarious.
