You know how we knew 'filler' was coming?
The 'filler' is part of the movie! There are going to be 4 weeks of OP episodes dedicated to telling the story of how the crew comes about meeting Shiki. Whether he'll actually appear in them or not is a whole other story but they are filler episodes aimed at, instead of random events, adding to the story of the film.

Man, from Oda writing it to the shout out in the manga to anime fillers? They really are going all out with this movie. I can't wait! God I hope Funi is able to do a dub.

Guys, we have to keep in mind that these are just still TV episodes and it is just a happy coincedence Funi will be streaming these. Right now they only have rights to legally stream and subtitle whatever airs on TV in Japan. It's no where near a guarantee that we'll be getting Movie 10 earlier. If anything Funi has more of a promotional advantage IF they release the movie when these episodes hit the TV DVD release (which won't be for a long long time no matter how much they speed up the current release).

This "movie special" TV episodes thing is a great idea, sounds way more memorable than your average filler episodes. I like it!

You know… just a stray thought, but it does seem a very Oda-ish thing that the story he wrote was too big to fit in the movie. If, assuming, etc.
Makes one wonder what level the animation will be at for the specials?

Meh, I'm not going to get my hopes up about this movie… or any One Piece movie for that matter. Lately, it seems like when they show things in the trailer, it never makes it into the actual movie, case and point with movie 7 (Showing Luffy fighting against a cool looking Mecha and getting bruised up, which never happens in the actual movie) and movie 9 (since the trailer was hinted Orz/Oz, who never appeared)
Odds are the some or most of the scenes we see in the trailer won't make it into the movie.
Oars would have been so cool if he had made it into Movie 9. There's nothing they could cut that i'd be more disappointed in than that. :(

Sure, the fact that Oda wrote the story means it has the potential to be awesome, but we can't say anything for sure when the movie hasn't even been released yet. Heck, if going by the "Oda wrote it so it must be awesome"-logic, Movie 8 also had the potential to be the best one, and we all know how that turned out. (Though I still kinda enjoyed that one too.)

I recall that the majority of the forum liked that movie. Regardless, no other One Piece movie or indeed any movie has been hyped up to such an extent nor has any movie been written and produced by Mr. Oda himself!!! The thought of this movie not being fantastic is inconceivable.
yeah Nine did suck bad. i mean it was well animated and the voices and music was okay. but the rapidly moving plot and lack of characterization really sucked. it was like, oh i just woke up and now i need to save the world even though two seconds ago i didnt even know how to talk. but i did like the overall concept at least
the thing i love the most is that this essentially makes the movie an like 70-90 minutes longer than it was before.
so if this movie is indeed amazing, as it seems, it will be some great 80 + 90 (anyone know how long movie is gonna be). kind of making up for the last two remakes.

Agreed, though not the "retarded" part. I'm sure it will be entertaining, but if the conclusion of this whole affair leads to us getting fewer breaks and 19 page chapters again, then yeah…in the words of Nixon, " let's cut this turd loose".
I don't think anime related movies need characterization. It just needs to be entertaining and well paced. Move 9 was nothing but that ,while Movie 8 was basically a boring slideshow reanimating scenes from a good arc… In all honestly, that movie should have cut out alot more to make it work within the limited timeframe.
Even though several moments in 9 was "what if?", Overall I found the movie well put together.

Y'know, I have to admit that Robin is really working the Yomiko Readman combined with Where's Waldo look here. What really gets me is how this look is such a departure from all her previous clothing styles which have had more of either leather cowboy or gothic theme to them.

My first impression was that the shirt looked very fruity. If anything, it's the opposite of fan service, but I like the bandana so it's all cool.

I wouldn't say his shirt looks girly; rather it makes him seem like the kind of guy who'd sit around a campfire with a bunch of brazenly liberal folk, instead of standing awkwardly with a serious face, like he does.
