When my cousins were staying with us last month they enjoyed playing the mini-games in New Super Mario Bros., seeing this I was considering getting some puzzle games as well as games that require some 'thinking' like those Brain Age games.
What are some good puzzle/'mind' games for the NDS?

Well eventhough it's not a multi-player game and isn't your kind of traditonal puzzle game their is the Phoenix Wright games.
-
If minigames are their thing, then Phoenix Wright might not be the right stuff - PW is extremely narrative-driven, and a single case usually takes at least an hour to complete if you're doing it for the first time.
Tetris DS, Meteos, Professor Layton, and maybe Puzzle Quest are your best options for puzzle games, I'd think.
-
Cool I'll try to get those games, thanks.
-
Go get Professor Layton and the Curious Village right the hell now.

A good puzzle game for the DS is Picross. Not only is it pretty cheap, but it's addictive. The concept is easy to pick up, and the solution to the puzzle is right there, you just have to have a good skill of deduction and think right.

I've heard good things about this Professor Layton game. Alternatively, here's a list of some puzzle games I found.
-
Yeah I plan to get Layton after I finish Saiban 4 it looks interesting and the fact that you can unlock Puzzles to play them later seperately's a good plus.

the new Space Invaders Extreme is fun.
Still a shooter, but music and lots of other neat stuff added. Could be considered a puzzle game i think, actually I don't know :P.
The Japanese release is out already and import friendly as everything is almost in English.

Planet Puzzle League.
