New Spiderman Series
-
yep.Thats what I feel.
-
I just don't think the stylization suits the charicters or the mood.
I'm curious, what do you see Spider-Man as? He certainly isn't a dark character or anything of that sort.
And The comic parker started out in high school. senior year or something, right.
The comics did indeed start out in his senior year but he still looked like a geeky kid from the sixties out of his costume.
This version looks like he's 12 to me.
Personally, he looks like your average fourteen/fifteen year old kid to me. I mean, he isn't gonna be super buff like he was in TAS.
-
actually, the over buff parker in the 90's animated series bugged me too.
uh, just watched the premier; even aunt may looks young, jsut with white hair. really, i don't like this art style for an action packed series. it reminds me of that Sabrina series where she was a preteen.
They got the charicter down though. smart talking and witty. loved when he was surfing on vulture, and swings into that limo to hang out before pummeling vulture.
-
Just watched a bit of it. Seems like it might be okay.
-
did anyone get PUNCHED ?
-
I think. People at least got kicked.
-
were finaly geting there.Care to briefly summarise it?
-
Meh, okay.
I didn't see the premiere episode, but I saw the episode featuring Electro's first appearance. I sorta like his new look.
Anyway, the animation is "kiddy" but overall, they got the personalities down I think. I feel like Harry Osborn is a bit nerdy in this version though.
-
"white and nerdy" ?BAD combination.
-
I saw a little bit of the Electro episode. I like what I saw, but I am not very fond of Pete's design out of the suit. Other than that, looks great, plus it looks like we have The Lizard to look forward to.
-
I just saw it a while ago (I recorded it, since I wasn't home at that time), it was pretty good. I like how they did w/ the action.
I'm not really sure which SM comic series are they actually following (unless of course it's spectacular SM comics)?
-
Saw about 45 minutes; disliked the art style, hated the theme song, and it seemed like they hadn't given Peter Parker radioactive spider venom, but rather "obnoxious superhero speak" venom. His dialogue was awful at many points.
-
….but the action is good?
-
OH GOD! THANK YOU Someone finally agrees with me on the art style.
and sorry to say, b1b, but so far i like his dilogue.
hey, my friend was wondering, is it the same poeple who made the batman?
-
Wonder if well get Mysterio.
ps:Lucci-YOU on OPHQ forums?!
-
Just watched it and i gotta say twas alot better than i thought it would be, The art style still bugs me a little but it brought so much more good stuff to the table that i can totaly look past that.
First ever animated enforcers scores major points with me, even if ox had the worst mustache ive ever seen it was still awesome. And the bigman, never thought anyone would actualy bring in a minor guy like that. stuff like that is whats gonna make this show great.
-
Not in season 1, maybe season 2 (I saw it on wiki, but I may be wrong since they only show so far 8 episodes w/ the confirmed villians of those episodes, but theres probably a different place that says all the villians for season 1). All I know is that pretty well known villians are confirmed w/ voices
-
I cant imagine how they'll make Octopus look like.
-
Dunno, the tentacles atleast look like the ones from the movie, So the rest might look something like that, you know grey or black trenchcoat and red googles.
Anyhow they dont seem to like all the gaudy colors from the old days, (Vultures red and black, Electros dark green and gray) So im guessing doc is gonna end up blackish too.
myself im more curious about the Shocker, Hope they keep the yellow suit.
-
His new suit looks pretty cool, I think.
I can't catch the show because of work. Sucks.
-
http://boards.sonypictures.com/spiderman/showthread.php?t=18574
Most people have probably seen them already, but might as well post em.
Shockers suit did look pretty good, but the vibro gauntlets look a little clunky but then im just nitpicking, And the Lizard looks great, really got that savage look that he was lacking in the 90s show.
overall theyve really got the villain designs down just right.
-
yeah-shocker was the most criminaly underused antagonist of the former series. But they should keep HIS simple design, then remake a new one.
ps:One guy im hoping NOT to see is Rhino.Big useless oaf,who can be replaced with a more interestingly designed big useless oaf.
-
Good to know they're somewhat sticking to the original designs.
-
I always enjoyed dull ol Rhino myself, as far as enforcers go he was awesome. And i really wish they would animate the one where he gets super intelligent.
Out of the bigger foes the ones i never really liked would have to be Electro,Venom and the Lizard.
-
never liked those three myself.but I guess they cant omit Lizard cause of character development.
sigh
-
really. i like the lizard.
pardon me for not being an uber spidey fan, but what's the difference between shocker and electro. They both sound like similar charicters. being electricity based and all.
-
shockers the yellow guy with the suit.
-
well duh I looked at the pictures :P care to give a description of the charicters and their backgrounds.
-
Shockers not eletricty based at all, His power comes from his vibro-smashers(the gauntlets on his hands) and as the name would suggest draws its power from vibrations, And he can then use it in a number of ways for defense or offense but most commonly just shoots a blast from his hands.
That and Electros a whacko with a personal vendetta against spidey, Shockers just a career criminal who happens to run in to spiderman alot.
-
ah perfect. thanks ^_^
-
You should see the real old designs of Electro (especially in the Captain America cover that is shown here): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro_%28comics%29
Thanks Wolfwood, for the link (I saw already Electro and Vulture already but not the others, so…)
-
I like The Lizard's design. Him and Doc Ock are my favorite villains, so I hope the show treats them well.
-
Yeah Lizzy looks good. Now all that this show is lacking is some Kingpin, Unless theyve decided that hes Daredevil only nowdays -_-
Suppose the big man could fill the spot of major crimeboss, but yeah id really prefere Fisk.
-
Yeah. Some NON BLACK post 2000 Kingpin would be nice.
-
I kinda like black Kingpin myself, but whatever. We're probably due for a white one by now.
-
hope so,he was a causasian for decades.
speaking of which, dont you have AN EXAM?
-
im black and didnt even like black kingpin
-
in the Daredevil movie i didnt really mind, you gotta play with the actors you can find and frankly Michael Clark Duncan black or not did look frightengly similar to Fisk, And he did really nail the part.
But when it comes to animation, where you just need to find a fitting voice, id prefere it if they kept true to the original.

Agree 100% PREACH

I agree with Wolfwood as well.

yep .

This post is deleted!

We won't be seeing Kingpin anytime soon. He's a "Daredevil character" and is off-limits like the rest of the Marvel universe at the moment. (I'd rather much see a Human Torch/Spidey team-up episode myself.)
This week's episode was really good. Kinda weak with Billy intervening at the last second but other than that, good episode. Spidey actually got some punches in today and with no flashes to cover the connection either.
They must be giving the show some elbow room because the cops were also carrying actual guns. (None were fired though.)
-
Yeah I saw that today, great pacing with the Lizard, did the character justice. Poor Peter though, losing his job like that but I guess this set him up to be photographer for the DB in later eps. Shocker next time, looks pretty close to the 90's version to me but we'll see.
-
I missed today's episode.
It sounded like it was good though.

If we're talking about appearing in the cartoon I don't see why he wouldn't be able to appear.

But in The Batman they walk around wielding some ugly looking guns talk about stupid.

Shrugs It has something to do with Sony owning the show and not having the rights to the other characters.
But in The Batman they walk around wielding some ugly looking guns talk about stupid.
Which is why I find it odd that they're letting Spidey have real guns. Prehaps it has something to do with the cartoony style.
Anyways, I rewatched the episode and holy crap is Connors' Lizard transformation really…wow to say the least.
-
i missed half the episode yesterday.
the gun thing. could be that they changed the animated gun policy in the past year or 2 since the batman was made.
-
Just watched the episode and it was awesome. The lizards designs was totally awesome (even better then the 90s version). Can someone show me a pic of the new shocker (didn't see it yet)
-

Just saw the first two episodes. Pacing, I dunno. But they've done an excellent job of mixing old and new.
….."we're due for a new white Kingpin"? Some of you must pound on your keyboards with logs of shit.
