But you have to give Naruto a credit for stealing highly guarded jutsu scroll and learning it just from a quick glance over it, specially when he was incapable of making still copy of himself despite learning it over years in academy, well it was lucky coinidence that Naruto, only ninja in entire world with practically limitless chakra learns a jounin class jutsu whats only bad side is a massive chakra consumption…

The fact that Naruto learned it at a quick glance as Shandian just stated, doesn't that mean he probably was a genius anyway? He did spend all night on it I believe but wouldn't it take longer than that for a non-genius? As for sage mode, we don't know how long Jiraiya took to even get it partially done, but it was probabably a lot longer than Jiraiya took.

Son of a low-class Sayian warrior, had lineage from a race of genocidal intergalactic pirates. That and was sent to earth because his power as a baby was far below average; also was an orphan. Lost all of his Tenkaichi tournaments(with the exception of the one with Piccolo) . had to train super-hard by running around the world in a determination get stronger, barely won against Piccolo(both incarnations). practicality helpless against his brother Raditz(gets killed because of it), loses his first match against Vegeta and would have died without the help of Kuririn, Gohan, and Yajirobe. Fought Freeza and got his ass thrashed several times, nearly died against him. He fought and defeated Freeza because of his power growth throughout the series, and his power was rising.
He couldn't defeat Perfect-Cell, regardless of his of his insane training in the hyperbolic time-chamber. Goku:"Maybe even a low class Sayian can surpass an elite if he works hard enough''.

There was Bardock foreseeing Goku would defeat Freeza, but Goku did that only with Super Sayian and never really avenged the Sayians, that was future Trunk( in the main time-line). The examples I listed are definite in showing Goku was an underdog( you can't argue this)

Goku had lineage from a second rate low-class nobody and trained extensively, even throughout the peaceful seven year gap between the Cell and Boo arcs.
Naruto has lineage from a first rate somebody and trained to be acknowledged and utilized power that had been given to him, not earned. Didn't learn really nothing over the three year time-skip,aside from an Nine-tailed enhanced version of Resengan.

Who's the real underdog here?

I wasn't refering to rock lee when i said that. You said someone who grows up training harder then Naruto could never beat him. I said yes they can. Look throughout history of the manga. Madara was beaten,Nidiame, Muu are all god like throughout history, but they still get their ass handed to them. Naruto trained like that because he was born with a large chakra pool. People train in the most efficient way with wat they have. Kakashi deduced the best way to train Naruto. Kakashi trained himself different, Minato trained himself different(creating god jutsus). Everyone has to work with wat they have. Look at jman? He was not a genius until he worked his butt off.

Naruto still gets the same fatigue and stress even if he makes clones. The sage training had him practicing resenshirken wgen he was surpose to be napping/resting. Right now he burning his hand off training and even Killerbee tells him its suicide if you keep going this hard. In part 1 Naruto was training all the time. Even when we saw him in his room before Itachi came in he was training. He trained to use the resengan. Jman basically left him out their for days training before he got the resengan. He was only breaking to sleep. Even when when Haku found him in the forest he was passed out from training. I don't agree that Kishi hasn't showed Naruto to be one of the hardest worker in the Manga.

Rock Lee never fought Neji after he learned Gates. So we don't know who was stronger. The only other fight we saw Lee in he was injured(sergery) and Drunk.

Lee has yet to fight seriously in part 2 i will gauge him soon.

I do agree Lee is more of a underdog through and Kishi already explained why Naruto uses clones to solve all his problems. It was the hardest jutsu gor him to learn so Naruto loves to use it.

I will note this isn't really canonical( but look closely). A hardworking Naruto, but he never really got that far, and plus these cover-pages also included Sakura holding a both a Naruto and Sasuke doll. Not much different then One Piece covers, but I think you could call it 'semi-canonical' but again not much different from most One Piece covers with individual Straw-hats doing things related to their personality(which aren't obviously canonical. I mean another proof that it isn't canonical is that Kishi did one with Naruto sneaking up on someone with a Jonin outfit in the Tsunade arc, also with Naruto in Dracula-like pose in the Chunin exam arc.

Edit: He did train hard sorry about that. Though loosely portrayed by Kishimoto, as an underdog to Sasuke. But really though this was really the most underdog moment in the(that and Kiba's fight) in the series. When you have the most powerful thing in your belly given to by daddy then its inevitable the underdog status would wither way the more you got control of it…

That wasn't my argument. I'm pointing out that you don't see any ninja from the country he's from. It's just been a focus on the 5 big countries, led by the kages of the 5 big countries, and without any help from other smaller countries. That's a problem isn't it? A smaller country has a kage, and is not involved in anything big in this war? And now Kishi brings in some insignificant Lord (story-wise) to prove he isn't doing that, when in fact he is. That it's the whole world against Madara. It's not very convincing. Not to mention that we've never really understood the roles of Lords in this manga. So why are they so important that they need to be protected? I'm sure there are answers, but I'd like Kishi to have answered them by now.

That's different you see. Oda has established to a certain point, why there are protected. Celestial Dragons are meant to be the rulers of the world. The highest beings, being related to the first architects of the WG. Are you saying that the Lords in Naruto believe that they are actually above everyone else as in One Piece? Because if that is so, then they need to be killed or removed from power, have their wealth distributed, in order for there to be peace. Eliminate any and all Lord(s) for the future.

So when is itachis little gift to naruto going to be actualy used huh? My biggest complaint about naruto is that kishi leaves to many plot devices untouched. S itachi said he'd lend him power but for wHat? I've been assuming that he just implanted naruto with a defense mechanism that will come into effect on it's own same as how sasuke tsukiomi comes out when he sees madaras sharingan. Hey it's almost like itachi is pulling the strings and insuring narutos' success y'see. And I guess kishi has no intent of telling us WTF happened to hannabi or Karin or even more importantly kurenai. Now kurenai of all ppl should have been at least gotten some kind of screen time after the pain invasion so we can know she's alive and so we don't forget about her geez why does kishi fail at giving ppl deserved screen time?

@friendofluffy Goku has sayian genitecs. He can get stronger by getting his ass whip. hmm What is Naruto always doing when he isn't on a mission or eating? Training too. Goku had master Roshi and so wat if you were trained by masters?? How does have anything to do with being a hardworker. Lee was trained by Gai and most of his training habits lcome from him. Goku had King Kai too and the other Kai.

Naruto doesn't have any orginal moves. Anyone could do sexy jutsu. I don't see wats the problem hear. Goku two most known moves were taught to him.

Luffy got a fruit given to him too. He would of died so many times if he could get hit with physical attacks. Luffy is still one of the most dertermine characters. Like i said Kishi has shown Naruto is one of the hardest worker in the manga. He is always running around to get training from somebody. He even talked to Gai when Kakashi was busy training Sasuke the chidori. He didn't sit on his ass and pout he went to go find a new trainer right away. All Naruto use to talk about before Sasuke ran away was Hokage,New moves,Noodles,Sakura and was always training. Tell me where Kishi has potrayed Naruto has not a hardworker. "When did SSJ become a childs plaything"-Vegeta. This is the reason Freiza killed their ass. They would of eventually become too powerful to control. He basically tied with Gaara.

@Youngjustice: You underestimate how hard Goku actually trains. Naruto IS the child of prophesy, did you not notice how many stone frogs there were when he was training, how many of those who COULDN'T attain sage mode? Goku is still a low class saiyan, and later in the series it's more to do with him training than his genetic makeup.

Admittedly I'm not against this child of prophesy thing, in that it pretty much means he will defeat Sasuke in the end but I would rather have seen it be done by training rather than daddy being a hokage and mammy being a powerful nin anyway.

It took Goku 7 years to acheive SSj3 and senzus did not exist in the other world, it was pure training. No matter what Goku did, he was ALWAYS training. You can't compare Goku's training habits to anyone, cause srsly that's his best trait and most consistant.
And btw YoungJustice: Goku DID know Gohan and a special power and was the only one who could beat cell. Remember what happened in the time chamber and he saw a glimps of SSJ2 from Gohan? Yea it wasnt random

What training? He only made good progress in his training for Neiji because of the Jiraiya(who was the fourth's teacher and godfather to Naruto) unlocked the seal Orochimaru did on him. He never really trained that hard, in fact even Sasuke pointed that when he first encountered him after three fucking years.

My point wasn't aimed at that, it was purely contrasting the main protagonist Goku and Naruto since you forced me to, and prove why the other is an underdog and the other one really is not.

It dosne't matter; its not addressing my point and so what if Goku's race that he lost connection to many years ago; had the potential to defeat Freeza? Even in the Sayian ranks Goku was considered a weakling at a young age. Whilst Vegeta, was privelenged to born with such a high power level to the King of Planet Vegeta. Being a Sayian does not hurt your chances of being an underdog; you can still be weak and be a Sayian you still have to train hard like everyone else now all your doing is making a dull hereditary argument by bringing up Gohan, Goten, and Trunks which weren't even in my argument)
Like I said before he was still a son of a low-ranked Sayian; that had failed to kill Freeza miserably.
Naruto is the son of the most powerful ninja in the Village, that died somewhat a hero like Bardock did but he gave his son access to the most powerful chakra in the world. He was also part the Uzumaki's clan which had a large affinity for large amounts of chakra. An underdog is usually defined as someone who overcomes all odds against him, due to his lineage's from his mother and father; that gave him the access to the most powerful thing in the world that left him fucking instructions on how to use it, that implanted there souls inside the freaking seal just so he won't transform into the Ninetails fully.

He's spoiled. he isn't a real underdog.

He was made fun for not being able to do Ninjutsu, prior to meeting Guy; no matter hard he trained Neiji who the biological advantage) couldn't defeat him.

I'm talking about Goku the main character of Dragonball, just like I'm talking about Naruto the main character(debatably) of 'Naruto.' This would work if you brought Bardock into the equation.

Naruto pretty much outclassed Neiji when he got access to the Nine-tailed chakra. That he never really worked hard for, and was only accessable because Ninetails gave it to him, to prevent the plausiblity of of dying with Naruto. A little difficulty here and there, but meh. This is the guy that mastered the Resengan in three freaking days through clones, the guy who was called a 'genius' for pointing out the obvious for his Sage training.
Half-cousins with the Sasuke, part of a prestigious clan for a natural affinity for huge waves of chakra. That defeated two Akatsuki through large expectations that he would surpass both his mentor figures(The fourth wth the resengan training and defeat of Kakuzu, Jiraiya with the defeat Pain. The guy who was able to take on fucking S-class criminals at the meager age of 16. The guy who surpassed a high-Jonin like Kakashi( who was oddly thought to be one of the strongest in the series) in like a few weeks.

Naruto isn't an underdog, never really portrayed to be.

It was. Naruto did suck at the start(like I mentioned serveral times before) but that only really in little segments of the first arc of the series: and he defeated Haku while Sasuke couldn't; through the Nine-tails, then and he taunted Sasuke and called him a 'scardy cat' when he(again accessed the NineTails again). Aside from this and the Kiba fight, that's pretty much his only real 'underdog moment' in he series.

And that's why you don't name your works as the main character, the Suck coeficient has to remain constant between them.

A bad series is a bad series, I don't think it makes much of a difference which one's technically better. They're both still bad.

The thing is, Kishi actually attempted to make a long, epic saga and failed miserably at it. Whereas Bleach is just Kubo's mediocre DA account disguised as a comic book.

I don't know. Naruto wasn't all that competent until Pain and the series was terrible for a long time before that.

Naruto was an underdog until he magically jumped ahead of everyone ever with Sage training overnight, and he was suddenly "the only one Tsunade could depend on to save them all".

The fact that the entire Pain arc was everyone saying "We have to stall until Naruto gets here" was really awkward, because it was trying to pull a Goku moment… when Naruto didn't really have the track record to warrant that... yet he came back as an uber god figure all the same, after which point everyone had to just "stay out of Naruto's way!"

At which point we discovered he was related to all the Hokages, the 9 tails implanting was a plan and not an emergency measure, his mom was the previous host, the rasengan was designed especially for him and his element affinity, and he's related to Sasuke somehow.

(Also somewhere in there it became tradition to seal the tailed beasts, going back for generations... rather than a one time measure/monstrous thing to do to Gaara.)

Then you should agree that Naruto was a true underdog. Why do you say in 'Naruto' the underdog never wins? Where'd you get that descritption from? Generally speaking an underdog is the guy/girl who's not expected to win. In fact, he/she is expected to get an ass stomping no other way around it. If the underdog wins that doesn't mean all of a sudden that person was magically never the underdog.

Naruto was "the loser" with the lowest grades in classes. Yes, even lower than Lee because while Lee excelled in Taijutsu Naruto excelled in nothing. Wasn't even good at anything in the eyes of his classroom peers and most of the village.

So in the Neji vs. Naruto fight and in fact the theme that encompasses most of the 1st part of the series Naruto has indeed always come across as a true underdog. Hey, Lee was an underdog too. They never really fought each other in competition so it's not like only one of them could be an underdog.

Naruto basically threw sage mode away, unless he uses it in conjunction with kyuubi mode. So Naruto basically can't even use one of the only two techniques he uses. He can't use shadow clones, so he's going to use a ridiculously powerful rasengan only. So, I just want to get this right. In the final battle, Naruto uses one attack. One…

Nope. That's the main reason. Luckily, it looks like Kishi's at least ending the series soon unlike Kubo who I figure'll try to milk his series for as long as possible. It is getting lower ratings and sales at this point at least.

we should know what konaha is using her for or where they put her.

This is the only one I can agree with you on. Of course, there are a ton of other characters that desperately need(ed) some focus and development.

Hey folks gonna call it first' Karin is Naruto's sister and seeing how the manga is bad fan-fiction I don't think that's too far off for Kishimoto to do, just like Robby expects Jiraiya is not dead I expect that twist to happen…..

Karin has red-hair like Kushina.
Has a hot-headed attitude like Kushina.
Terrible personality and design like Kushina.
Has a boner for pretty boy's like Kushina.
The only red-hed (aside from Kushina) in the manga like Kushina

Its plausible this, after all this is the same series that revealed:
-Naruto is part Uchia and is cousins with Sasuke

Same series that revealed Naruto's mother was the previous owner of the Jinchuuriki.
Same series that revealed Tobi was Madara
-Reavealed that S-class criminals that had lived for hundreds of years could being defeated out through the a trick the equivelant to " hey your shoes are untied.' by fucking 16 year olds
The real underdog never wins(see Rock Lee)
-Revealed Itachi is a good guy and he could put crows into a guy's throat, giving him another convienant power-up that will undeniably factor to the final Naruto vs Sasuke fight(which will be horrific)
Plus with Karin being in Konoha; this awful twist might just come to pass.

I'll stop reading after this, if it ever comes to pass.
