Naruto Thread IV

You know, I gotta admit, just for the Lee stuff alone, this chapter sounds pretty awesome.
Haku crying (further evidence that he's a girl) and one of the zombies ripping off Crocodile, not so much.
-
Apparently, by "New World", Crocodile meant "crappy ninja comic".
Also, interested in Seven Swordsmen.
Even if they feature the retarded filler one.
-
I'll admit I am curious about the natures of the new Releases, and the Swordsman, but it doesn't sound as bad as the last chapter.
-
Its cute how Kishi apparently realize what a shitty weakness talk-no-jutsu was… after the fact.
"OH wait, uhm... Kabuto has control of them now, yes. He can turn their personalities off if he wants to! But uhm... he can't do them all at once so the technique can still work!"
Oh well.
At least Rock Lee is doing something. But given how long its been since he and Sakura last interacted, (not counting when she declared her undying love for Naruto in front of the entire peer group) I really... can't bring myself to care. Oh well, maybe we'll get a chapter of Lee action after the break.
-
I'm sorry.
It is just too fucking ridiculous to believe that every country in the world - every single ninja village, which go to great lengths to protect the secrets of their bloodline limits and the bodies of their dead, to prevent them from being studied - would manage to let Kabutochimaru rob every single grave they have ever had.
Especially fucking Kages. What the heck, man.

These are the same ninjas that can't follow a trail intentionally marked with bright red hair.
And the uber elites with hundreds of battles of experience fall for "hey, your shoe lace is untied" as a valid battle tactic all the time.
But yes, it is a little ridiculous. especially given that yes, we've seen the Hyugas, and Danzo and Kisame at least, take extreme measure to preserve their secrets.
It was more broken, but more plausible, when he could just summon whoever the hell he wanted. Makes it even stupider he can't get to Jiraiya's body. But that is of course, because he isn't dead.

I'm pretty sure that the loophole with the resurrection jutsu is that it doesn't require actual bodies, just the soul which can be summoned with a trace of the body's DNA, though that doesn't make it any less bullshit.
-
Well yeah, that's where I'm supposing he'd have to get DNA from for most of these guys. If it made fucking sense.
-
Ah, I see. But still, getting a single strand of hair or a tissue someone once used is a much simpler matter than, say, digging up whole corpses and lugging them around. There are means, especially in a story so riddled with deus ex machina, plot-convinient services and inept militaries.
-
Seven swordsman has picked my interest.
Everything else is meh. -
well I must say if these spoilers are true i don't think I can bring myself to hate this chapter no matter what
rock lee gets moving probs gonna fight haku
personalities shut off so they can't use talk no jutsu anymore
and finally the seven swordsmen of the mist!!!!1 and 3 are the major reasons though cause I'm still worried about talk no jutsu no matter what they say
-
This is sounding pretty good so far! As for the crying thing, Saint Seiya and One Piece had manly men crying and it works perfectly well, although manly men in Naruto are dead, with Naruto or left with one arm.
-
Whenever Naruto talks to someone they either commit suicide or join his side. He should be the allied forces vital weapon on the battlefield not because of his Bijuu but because of this unique ability.
-
Well, the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist might intrigue me…

@HiroVoid:
Oh f*ck off… I managed to forget that abomination but you slam it on our faces...
Those episodes were so bad that I will carry the scars they inlficted to my grave...
-
Good thing I refuse to watch the filler then, althogh if I'm really bored when I'm fully caught up to the pein invasion arc in the anime, I might watch the next fillers. I did get really pissed off when at the end of the 165th episode Sakura is moaning about how Hinata got to be in the credits.
Wtf are they trying to cause more fan bias towards Sakura against poor Hinata? At least mangaka like Araki, Togashi or Oda make you care about a wide variety of characters, not just focusing on one heroine who looks more mannish every time I see her.

At least he carried the Seven Swordsman tradition of dying like a man.
-
wow…. he made some horrible designs like really bad, he forgot the filler guy and put in another guy who looks exactly like shin/sakura
here's the pics if you want them

THE SEVEN SWORDSMAN OF THE MIST:
Zabuza Momochi
Kisame Hoshigaki
Raiga of the Filler
A GORON
NINJA MARLON BRANDO
SAKURA
THAT SAND DUDE WHO KILLED HAYATE
TOKEN CHICK
WEATHER REPORT -
Don't know about you guys but Raiga is looking pretty good right now.
-
I'm guessing the Sakura-man is the shark-guy's older brother, but damn are those some bad designs.
-
Chapter's out.
Wasn't horrible by any means, but I still don't get why we are bringing up already resolved conflicts to just resolve them again for the hell of it. All emotional attachment we might have had for the Zabuza story is long dead after it has been untouched for 400 chapters so now all that's left is annoyance at bringing it up again….
-
I liked this chapter.
-
Pretty good chapter. It's nice to see this fight last a little longer. The Sai-Brother fight lasted as long as it needed to because I don't care for them. If anything I'm just glad to see Zabuza.
I wonder in five years when this episode airs on English TV and/or DVD/Blu-Ray if Steve Blum will reprise his role as Zabuza.

There isn't any doubt. IIRC he liked playing Zabuza, and who wouldn't? He was one of the few legitimately cool villains in Naruto, before everything went south.

Does Kishi really think that bringing back every resolved story through zombies is a good idea? "Oh look Naruto helped these people, blah blah blah…"
God, it's awful. -
So Sai shows his brother a picture of them holding hands and that breaks the seal, but Haku can learn that she was useful to Zabuza in her life and that she meant more to Zabuza than just a tool, and even sheds a tear about it (Sai's bro didn't even start crying), yet that's not enough to unbind her soul?
Other than that and Kabuto trying to make his jutsu make sense, not a bad chapter. I did laugh when Suigetsu appeared because he kept that watery look instead of looking completely solid aka like Sakura.
-
Am I seeing things, or did Kishi really make a filler villain into a canon manga character? (The Seven Mist on the left in the back, who is conveniently covered by the others.) Riaga, whatshisface, the filler guy who used lightning and spent his days off burying people alive.
Now, honestly, that was at least better filler than some of the stuff that came after, but… well, yeah.
Anyway, aside from the WTFness of Kabuto having everything planned out, maybe even more than Aizen, I liked this chapter a lot. Haku and Zabuza own all. And I was glad to see Suigetsu and Juugo actually doing something. I like those two. Maybe Suigetsu will end up having a runin with Zabuza at some point.
EDIT: Wait, is the guy on the far left supposed to be Kisame? I'm confused here...
And who the hell is Hayate?
-
Gekkou Hayate?
That sleepy eyed guy who was murdered off by Sand Ninjas during the Chuunin Exam?
He was the beau of some ANBU chick iirc.
-
Are you guys ok with Scorch element(WTF is that?Fire but different?) and Explosion element?? How can you even get that?Deidara was using clay as a tool but this one is just punching ppl and they explode into tiny bits…
Also whats the bloodline limit of Zabuza?Kakashi was able to copy his moves before.Only thing thats insteresting is the 7 swordsman.I would like to see Gai(Guy or w/e) to fight 2 of them alone and win, that would be awesome.
No one will die from the main cast in this war imo.Maybe 2 or 3 of them or so will cheat death and thats pretty much it.
-
Wow, a chapter that wasn't horrible!
I give it a Mediocre Blue…And Suigetsu is alive =D
But this Suna-zombie was a chick? Kishi can't draw women, they look like men - and the other way around, too.
-
it was a bit gay with the whole haku zabuza thing.
-
Mediocre Blue .
-
Incest Green.
Yes, Zabuza is all well and good, but the rest of the Swordsmen are underwhelming as Hell.
-
I didn't like this chapter. I don't care anymore about Zabuza and Haku, who disappeared from the story in a really good way 500 chapters ago, and I don't care about those villains with strange skills and no personality either.
-
@Brave:
it was a bit gay with the whole haku zabuza thing.
It's only gay if Haku were a guy.
-
Zabuza: I'm already dead.
Kenshiro: Oh, looks like I didn't have to do anything. -
aegir i'm sorry to dissapoint you but haku is a guy.
-
@Brave:
aegir i'm sorry to dissapoint you but haku is a guy.
Seriously? Stop being ridiculous man. Next time you are going to say Sakura is a girl.
-
@Aegir:

Sakura is a girl.
-
kishi should have made haku a girl. this whole genderbender thing is a trap but gay nontheless.
-
Yellow Flash Parenting Skills
And it doesn't rise up to the Orange only because of Zabuza and Haku nostalgia. It's really dumb to see Haku being told how Zabuza acknowledged him, and no disentegration follows, and instead we have a tsundere Zabuza almost blushing. It's for the best for the not to have any personalities so as to leave the perfect Wave Country arc at peace.
-
@Brave:
aegir i'm sorry to dissapoint you but haku is a guy.
Sakura is a girl.
You haven't paid much attention, and are mixed up.
Haku is a woman (the prettiest one in the series) and Sakura is a man (the most unappealing one in the series.)
Not sure how this sort of mixup occurs when they're drawn looking the way they look.
-
Probably Orange. As said earlier, when Sai's Brother became peaceful he died, why not them, Kishi? The Swordsman designs are really bleh, as one looks a bit like Nnorita and the fat guy looks like one of the Paths of Pain and one of the fat brothers from Skypedia. However, that spiky-haired guy blowing up some dude with one punch and the usual Gai stuff was fairly cool.
-
Even Kishimoto is ripping off mangas like Kubo. That Scorch element remembers Crocodile's Suna Suna No Mi and that explosion element remembers Kimblee's alchemy and Genthru's Little Flower ability…
Ah, and the Seven Swordsmen's design is so bland... -
Kimblee's alchemy and Genthru's Little Flower ability…
Eh, I wouldn't say Kimblee so much as he turns people into bombs but moreso Mr. 5's ability.
