After talking with some people in Japanese thread, I decided to put up some Japanese music for your pleasure.

Oto means sound in Japanese. Since it was so random, I have really old music, some goes back in 1988. memories But well, they all made it to top 10 of each year, so they should be a good listening.

From next time, I'll try to upload more recent musics…

I'll probably rotate the songs monthly or bi-monthly. I have 20 GB bandwidth left for Quonne this month, so hopefully it'll last until the end of the month. KEFI got 90 GB left for rest of the month... Maybe I should've uploaded onto KEFI instead. Bah :x

I like it but I don't think it's as good as some other japanese rock that I listen too. My favorite japanese rock bands probobly are:

Balzac
Larc-En-Ciel
Psycho Le Cemu
Cocobat
Sobut
R.F.T.C.

but if we're talking about Porno Graffiti, Saboten and Karma no Saka are just the tops for me...

I love Porno Graffiti, too. Ageha-cho is the first song that I heard of them. It was on the commercial :D I won't probably able to sing though, it is too fast.

Speaking of songs by Porno Graffiti…

I got to attend a friend's wedding recently, and they sang the song Saboten! Seriously. It was one of their favorite songs, so the bride and her friends sang along with the band.

And hey, it's one of my favorite songs ever too, but I thought it was kind of strange to be singing that song at a wedding… :blink:

However, I ended up singing along, too. :lol:

That's Kimi Sae Ireba from Chuuka Ichiban, darling! That's a song from one of my absolute favorite bands, Deen! I think I had that song on repeat play for a month and a half when I first got it.

I absolutely Deen. They've been around forever, and I love them! They have the sweetest songs…
My favorite songs by them, though, are mostly from their first two albums.

Does anyone else listen to them?

I actually own a Porno Graffiti CD, lol (I'm not just a music pirate !) :lol: I bought it when I was in New York City last year at the Kinokuniya. I didn't have much time in there and back then I wasn't very good at Japanese (no time to look for Jump or anything… but come on, Fifth Avenue ! I wanted to hit the H&M ! :lol: ), so I grabbed the first thing with katakana that I recognized. It ended up being their Mugen single, with Go Steady Go and Bittersweet :3

Because of this post, when I went to Virgin records at San Francisco, I bought SMILE CD (L'Arc~en~Ciel) XD It's the one used in lukia's avatar :D

Hmm… Only Japanese music I've really been listening to lately is the new Asian Kung-Fu Generation single. I hope I can coughdownloadcough the whole Nano-Mugen CD sometime soon... Other than that, the new White Stripes and Aquabats CDs are great, but thats kinda diverging from the topic here. <_<

Mongol 800, Spitz and the Pillows are some of my favorite.

Anyone ever been to Okinawa? There's some music there I heard all the time on the radio and some at this one yakinikuya called Bambohe's that I want to find about so bad….One was like an 80's song remix, kept saying something like "The move is on, the move is on" I think. And the Eisa drum music is pretty sweet. Maybe I'll just incur some nasty int'l rates and call the place and ask em.
