Has anyone watched this series? The series was created by Monkey Punch the same person who created Lupin.
Musashi Gundoh

I'm pretty sure everyone has heard of Musashi now (silly me thinking this topic implied there were subs). The outrageously piss poor story/writing/everything is almost legendary.
Funny show, though.
-
Ive heard about it.Never saw it,would like to,though.Hiting a female member with a gun (back, but still) is something we don't see too often in openings.
-
Well I certainly know of no other series that has undertaken the task of bringing the long-lost historical art of "fighting while falling" to light.
-
ya mean like in them lousy king-fu movies?
-
Ievr9RSK9T0
I think this is relevent
-
doesnt anyone have a REAL clip ?
-
Musashi Gundoh is some really fun shit, actually, I'd recommend you all watch it. Because of its unbelievable badness it's hella amusing, which makes it more enjoyable than 95% of all anime out there.
Oh, and the animation honestly isn't much worse than that in One Piece lately, too.

Fuck that haruhi meme bullshit, here is the real deal

-
Wow, it's dazzling!
…
Also to note, the Wikipedia article does one QUALITY job of summarizing the show for people.
-
hahahaha wow. That was amazing
-
moustache guy looks interesting.HE shouldve been the protagonist and not that boring kid.

Kaguya rides on a horse. Her horse is well-trained, and always appears to be calm. Even when his master is kidnapped by crows, he remains calm and faces front, directly towards the viewers. This horse is arguably the anime's most popular character.

Dear goodness I'm avoid this joke….

Jijouda
Ayakashi that attacks into Daitkuji temple by the 2nd story. It is a size at the same level as man, there are 2~3 corners, and there is a wing like the bat on the back. This wing flaps, and the gust is caused. The bullet can be driven back by using the barrier. The weak points were eyes, and it had been defeated before "OCHINAGARA TATAKAU (落ちながら戦う, Ochinagaratatakau?)(fall fighting)" of the killer shot of the Priest Takuan.

What the fuck? That's an insult to One Piece if I ever heard one. Sure, there are times when One Piece's animation can fault but not to the degree of Musashi Gundou.

It's not an insult to One Piece, but only to the garbage that is the anime adaptation of Oda's masterpiece.

Episodes 277-278 were masterfully done.Problem IS them being "creative"-like there was this scene with the most godawfull background characters you could imagine.
And-I mean, look at when Doflamingo goes to punish Bellamy-then compare the random background pirates from the manga and anime-especialy the one who is all shity scarred "it a shichibukai, what the hell is he doing here?!!"-and you see what I mean.
-
lobolover, plz shut the hell up.

Wasn't Musashi made to be intentionally bad?

Wasn't Musashi made to be intentionally bad?
As the story goes, no. Monkey Punch wrote a draft for a potential "feudal era epic" about twelve years ago (much like how Shirow Masamune wrote "Ghost Hound" only to have it adapted decades after he originally thought it up) and someone came to him with the interest in animating a new production. Monkey Punch went, "hey, I have this script I wrote, maybe you'd like it"? Unfortunately the project couldn't get funding so the animation contract went to an extremely low budget new studio who had complete control of it, and everything else from sound and music to rather novice groups; since the animation and audio splicing/syncing was done almost entirely overseas, none of the voice actors, producers, or even the writers had any idea of what was going on. Musashi was getting some rather decent promotion in Japan at this time, with Monkey Punch and the C.V.'s talking about it in magazines and such. I don't think anyone knew about the QUALITY until the second episode aired, which came as a huge surprise to many people.
So everyone quietly tried to distance themselves from the project and let it die in obscurity, but it wouldn't go away because of the talk on the internet. So, Monkey Punch decided to sell it as intentionally bad, sort of a "homage to the 1970's era of art and animation" since he's got an older art style. That worked rather well, actually. It's how we get some of the classic "Musashi Facts" like, "Monkey Punch spend twelve years writing it" and "It sold really well according to some charts". That became the promotional vehicle for the show.
A note that the 'selling well' referred to a sole novelty shop in Akihabara.

Holy shit, Lobolover made a post with perfect grammar.
WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO

Lobolover's been tricking us the whole time.
He's probably a fucking genius.

I don't think you understood my post correctly. I'm saying that you can't put Musashi Gundou in the same league as the anime version of One Piece! One Piece has great animation with the occasional shit looking scenes. Musashi Gundou is all shit looking scenes.

@Kaba:
One Piece has great animation…
One Piece has piss poor animation. While I would call it an exaggeration to equate it with Musashi, OP's painfully low quality is itself an insult to Oda's manga, but only anime fans on the internet would actually care about it. Sunday morning viewers wouldn't.
-
While I don't really think the OP anime has bad animation, I don't know why people are expecting a 300+ episode anime to have animation on par with shorter, single season anime. It usually steps up when it needs to.
Well, back on topic, about that Musashi Gundoh…
BREAKING YO FAAAACCEE!!
-
Back off topic…
OP has bad animation (to be fair, most anime do) because it's a neverending series and it is financially impossible to expect a top-of-the-line product when there are at least 40 episodes produced a year. On the other hand, it also has decent quality control, competent editing, and at certain times, skillful and inspired directing. Musashi has none of those.

@Really:
BREAKING YO FAAAACCEE!!
That song is awesome. It's so bad, but I can't stop listening or singing along.
-
the opening for this has got the be the worst thing I heard since Eminem got drugged with pencil clipings.
-
anyone subbed this?
-
Only the first episode was subbed I believe, by Fire-Down Drop. If you sign up to there forum, you can get a DDL of it here.
Shame they never did more.

I think it looks more like a cleaned up, detailed version of Oda's manga to me.

most parts.
but some-severe slackage.Plus, when the anime makers try to be "creative" with the characters.Have you seen 342?Its got a black zombie with a big square for a head.

How many other zombies with big squares for heads have you seen?
-
Somebody don't answer that. It would be bad for our sanity.
-
!
the one on the left.
-
That square man and the one with fins have better designs than half the anime/manga characters out there today.
-
fins?if ya meen the guy besides him, thats bunny guy,one of Oda's zombie designs.
