I really wonder what kind of thought processes go into covers like this. Are the designers really that lazy, or do they make these kinds of things because they want the game to fail?

Umm Sandai, the Turtles actually are supposed to be wearing the same coloured bandanas; that's how Eastman and Laird had them since the comic started (though in other media and comics they have different colours), basically there's nothing wrong with that cover from what I see.
I've figured one of those covers wouldn't slide.
