A new original series on AMC. It is a dark comedy, about a chemistry teacher, who gets involved with dealing meth. I have seen the first three episodes, and I must say, the story is pretty solid.

As I said before, it's a pretty dark comedy, so don't expect to laugh that much. I think it has a great plot though. It is somewhat similar to "The Sapranos".
Aha! 'Weeds' was a gateway drug for the tv execs! Now they're moving on to hard drugs in the hopes of getting better ratings and awards than Showtime. I hope they wind up chewing their own scabs for a taste of money.

Wait until you watch this show before you judge it. It is an awesome show. Cranston is brilliant in his role and I love it. Sure it isn't up there with some of the other shows but holy hell does it leave you wanting more.
I've been meaning to catch it. My On Demand did have all the episodes up to date, but they probably expired.
This show really needs more love.
Cranston is beyond excellent in his role. I really hate using such generic descriptions, but I really have trouble myself rattling around in my dusty head what truly makes his character so outstanding, other then how real Cranston portrays this man and his amazingly potent tale. Aside from the genuine comedy,( the scene in the clothing store that escalated Walter's aggression nearly sent my sides clear through the walls.) there's a lot to love in this show.
And for the record, Episode 3's ending….solely launched this to a new peak.

I watched the first 3 episodes on On Demand and episode 4 on AMC. I fucking love this series so far. I never did drugs or anything and never really cared for drug related shows, but this show is truly astonishing.
It's just amazing how real it feels, and I agree that it leaves you wanting more. The end of episode 3 was really something, you couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy.
Also, in episode 2 when all the remainder of the guy fell through the ceiling onto the floor…I didn't cringe, but that was probably the first real cringe worthy scene I've seen in a television series.
Episode 4 is an absolute classic.

Fillerish? What is with people using that all of a sudden on things? What series has went straight for the plot? It'd be over in only a few episodes if even that.

There's no such thing as filler in this kinda stuff, as this IS the source material.
That's it. Tonight was episode 7, the last episode as of now. There were gonna be 9 episodes but the Writer's strike took two away. Starting next week AMC is airing episode 1 and up.
Very inconclusive of a season. Safe to say there will be a season 2, but so far it's just rumor. It was really getting awesome too.

I love this show-I caught up on the first season right before season 2 started and I have been hooked since. In my opinion it's one of the best shows on television because of the great acting (Cranston and Paul-who really surprised me during the second season), weird plot and the really dark comedy.
! I especially loved the exploding head on the turtle, Tio's bell ringing, the scene where they try to intimidate Saul and fail miserably, and the scene where Jessie tries heroin for the first time this season-all those scenes were fantastic
I can't wait until Season Three starts in the spring, especially since this season left off at a very odd place-that is, however, another thing I love about this show. Just when you think you know what will happen next Vince throws in something completely unexpected. Now that I know the whole title of the episode trick I feel stupid for not figuring it out beforehand.
Oh god, I love this show so much. Proof that modern television hasn't completely gone to shit.

Wow I can't believe there isn't a longer discussion for this show! I think it's one of the best running shows on cable. I've got to re-watch the premiere since I missed some of it Sunday.
The only complain I really have with the show is when they aren't cooking everything becomes so mundane. I really couldn't care less about Skylar, she's one of the few dislikeables really.

This show has captured my attention in the off season between Dexter and waiting for Lost to end. It's a modern masterpiece about the daddy issues, mid-life crises, dysfunctional families, meth and growing up.
! When an unassuming high school chemistry teacher discovers he has a rare form of lung cancer, he decides to team up with a former student and create a top of the line crystal meth in a used RV, to provide for his family once he is gone.
Walter is phenomenal, and to see Vince Gilligan's range as an actor is exceptional as well as entertaining. Between the charades of Willey Coyote, and Fringe-like (Walter) dialogue I have come to love this show.
Granted it's slow, and for an hour-long show, it does drag, but if you stick to it, it is amazing.

I've been loving the show but i've become increasing less attached to Walt. Episode 10 really summed it up nicely and it was such a great episode. The acting, the cinematography, that fucking fly…with the 2 mexican guys dead and hank in the hospital you kind of have to wonder where they're going from here. Like whats the tension anymore since Sky knows and Gus is a total professional...i guess the focus is going to switch to Jesse

I marathoned seasons 1/2 last week and i'm addicted to Breaking Bad, i can safely say this is the best thing i watched on tv since Dexter's season 4. Now i see why Bryan Craston keeps getting praised, his performance is disturbingly good and realistic. Somehow it belongs to a rare type of show that really makes me feel bad and anxious for the characters.
And man, i was really needing some quality television after Lost's pretentious and disappointing final season.
I'm avoiding most of the posts in this thread for the time being though, since i'm intending to start season 3 on Monday.

But really, the finale should be great because I've missed this dynamic between the two... it got lost when they became "professionals" employees for Gus; they became too tame.

This show ain't ever gonna crash. With only one (or most likely two) seasons left until the show is entirely over, I'm confident that it'll go down as one of the most consistent televised series ever. This show is DA BOMB, BITCH.
I've been watching this show since half of season 1, this is currently battling with Dexter for my favourite show ever (because i mean, who cannot love Dexter after season 4?)
and it is as you say, whats more impressive is the consistency, this show is AMAZING ever since it started, from Walt running pantless in the desert, to the fly (last episode I've seen, gonna watch 3x11 and 3x12 right away)
I've seen many tv shows (believe me, if you say anything besides CSI's, NCIS's, ghost whisperer, medium, criminal minds etc.. i probably watched it), and I'm glad there are good shows being made currently.
After this season I'm probably going to watch mad men, never saw a single episode and I'm really interested in it.

The second one always gets a fuckton of praise, but I don't understand why. Sure, DLZ is a badass song, but it just sounds fucking terrible with that scene.

There are a lot of people thinking that Walter Jr will die too. That would probably make more sense (and Jesse is pretty much Walt's real son at this point), but i don't know what to think about the idea.

Yeah, I almost screamed at my TV "FUCK YEAH THAT'S SOME HEISENBURG SHIT RIGHT THERE!!!!" when I saw Walt in his Heisenburg costume.
And if Walt Jr. dies, Gus will die. Walt would fuck him up hardcore. Don't think Walt Jr. will die yet. But whatever it'll happen, I'm confident that it will be the precursor to the ending of the series. We're about to witness a major turning point tonight.

what a boring finale
Well, it didn't have any HOLY SHIT WTF moment like the plane crash but it was still a good finale.
! For a moment i almost thought Saul, and later Walter, would sell Jesse, but looks like those three are a pretty tight team right now. The end was very nicely played by Walter, better Gus know the kind of man he's dealing with. I wonder how they'll keep working together and what will be Jesse's role from now on. And now i see what Vince G. meant by "Jesse will be losing his innocence". Guess he's joining the full measures club soon.
! Btw, i'm glad that no major character died.
