They didn't announce it but if each DVD still has the title "Season One" it would only make sense to release a giant box-set after sufficient sales and DVD releases. I don't know, I just might buy it anyway.

The release of the next boxset is one of the questions in my email I sent Vic a matter of hours ago. I will tell you of his response. And if he says he doesn't know, then we know not to ask him anymore.

Yes. They intentionally refused to give FUNi the next episode-previews for Dragonball and Sailor Moon, as well as some of the opening/ending-videos.

While a few of the Freeza-saga DVDs used the third opening (With Super Saiyan Goku/Trunks/Vegeta, Dr. Gero and stuff) they never did that in the Saiyan-arc. Though the dub-opening showed all that stuff from day one, but that's a different matter entirely. But it's true, Toei never gave FUNi a creditless version of the first opening… until now, because they apparently have it on the new release of movie 1. But anyway, off-topic-ness, so... I hope they won't hold back anything in OP. So far, it seems fine, but we can't say for sure if we're gonna get the widescreen-episodes later on...

They've had the the first variation of Head Cha-La for movie1 for a long time. Since before this new release. It was on one of the older ones to.

Yeah, but only with the movie 1-credits. And they tried using that on the first two uncut DVDs they released, (Ironically, that was the Ginyu-episodes, and they weren't supposed to use that opening there) and people complained that the credits were completely wrong. The new release actually has a creditless version of the opening.

You forget, for the first Few years, we only had a Cut Dub release of the First 2 seasons. They weren't given those first Openings and Got them Later XP
Pioneer were the ones who did the Movies, they even used a Different Cast!! So They were the ones who had the First Opening, not FUNi XD.

Just got mine today. Got it from Borders and they charged me the freaking retail price of $50. Well, it was also convenient since I also picked up volume 18 of the OP manga. Ah well, I'll just order the next volume from Wal-Mart.
I've watched the first three episodes so far and I am. Lov. Ing. It. Totally worth the $50 (of course I'll still try to get it cheaper next time.

I just got an email back from them saying they're refunding me 13 dollars because of their recent and quick price drop. You have to contact them though. It also helps to do their "Express" option and then select whatever order has the set listed.

No Damnit! I was so looking forward to getting it during my vacation. How much longer must I wait to see Zoro vs. Mihawk ala Funi and to hear Krieg, Zeff, Johnny and Yosoku? (Other than in Unlimited Adventure but come on. Krieg had minimal lines for a fighter, Zeff had one, and we only saw J&Y in the background during cutscenes.)
Oh well, at least this means they're not rushing through this and taking their time to keep it the excellent dub that already is.
They probably shouldn't have said that "fast-release" thing… I had a feeling they wouldn't be able to keep up with that deadline. ^_^;
I think I'll wait until a FUNimation representative confirms a release date.
But if it does end up coming out in September, this just gives them more time to work on it and make it excellent…and it gives me more time to save up for it.

Honestly too long to wait if you ask me. If this were a shorter series, it would be ok… but it's One Piece. Imagine having to wait 3+ months for box set 5 which, if they are going to continue with their 13 per set formula... would be mostly The Battleship Island Filler (ep 53-65)...

Erm… The Warship Island-arc is 7 and a half episode long, and there is some manga content mixed into it as well. That's only a little over half the volume. Although I think they should go with 12 episodes for the next four volumes, so volume 5 will end at episode 61, which is the logical ending-point of "Season One". (The journey over Reverse Mountain. Then they should do four 14-episode sets in Season Two to make up for it, so that set 10 ends at episode 130, which is pretty much the undeniable end of the Alabasta-arc... Then we get volume 11, which will inevitably contain nothing but fillers. Argh, buying that is gonna be a pain, yet I don't want to have a hole in my collection either...
There's also the chance releases will speed up as they get into the swing of things, you know. Who can say?

Sure hope so. I'd hate to wait until February and next May before I can own the entire Arlong-arc on DVD.
Well I kinda figured the 6-8 weeks thing was just a loose idea. It's just another 4 weeks. Yeah the Funi rep who said that should've clarified that was just a loose approximation (maybe say 2-3 months) I don't mind the release date one bit as long as they're coming within consistent, reasonable time.

I'm just not a fan of the filler arcs, thats all. I don't enjoy paying 30+ dollars (whatever price you find it at) for a "little over half the volume" of filler (i know about the manga related material.. the only filler part I like in the arc takes place when they are entering the grand line.. Nami Pushes Erik, a devil fruit user, into the sea in cold blood. Best death in the series, thanks for the memories Erik).
Plus waiting 3+ months for it non the less.. although Laboon arc is worth it.
I think your idea would make sense when it comes to evening out the arcs in terms of sets. (The Lougetown arc getting it's last episode chopped of and put on the next set would be such bullshit). But I still advocate more Eps pers set

Ordered a week ago and it's still not here. 
I picked it up at Best Buy yesterday, and watched it all night. Overall, I'm EXTREMELY happy with it, couldn't ask for much more. Everything about it was great, and though I wish it was longer (since I liked it so much), I admit that they ended the set with a great cliffhanger. Definately buying the other sets. Nice work, Funi!
