The real important factor for the next set for me is how they cast Arlong and his crew. I really dread what angle they cast the octopus guy at.
If you've played or watched clips from Unlimited Adventure, you would have heard Arlong's dub voice.
I'm actually looking foward to Hachi's dubbed voice, seeing as he's the most likable of Arlong's crew (in my opinion) and since
! he also plays a part in the current manga storyline.
Yes, I remember my friend talking about 'I wonder who's gonna play that guy in the series?' and such whenever we got the Second Voyage (she literally would say 'that guy' for people because she really doesn't know many of the villans/side character's names, she's new to the series). I would remind her that a lot of the voices WERE in Unlimited Adventure and that most of them did a pretty good job and they kept over almost all of them (EXCEPT for Arron Dismuke for young Zoro, they got a girl to play him instead because Arron's voice is probably too deep now, they did the game like half a year before they started doing the series). Even Vivi and Bon Clay were the same as their Movie 8 selves, and I loved giving props to Caitlin Glass for that.
I just hope that they don't forget about Patrick Seitz when they finally get around to Water 7/Enies Lobby… he did a pretty good job for Franky I'd have to say, considering Kazuki Yao's voice is kinda hard to match--but they did get a good VA for Jango. I wonder if they'll opt to use Jango's english VA for Franky in lieu of Patrick, but I hope not. (Besides, I already got Pat to autograph a Strawhat pillow along with Luci, Sonny and Stephanie!! lol)
BTW: Pearl made me CRACK. UP. Because it's J. Michael Tatum, and he sounded so goofy doing it, it was hilarious.
Just because YOU GUYS are estatic over some dub changes, doesn't make the movie good. You aren't the market, you're the ones who will buy anything that is one piece (apparently).
The ones who should be buying the movie aren't, because as a stand alone, (hell even with the anime) it's still a piece of crap.
Rant alert! since this thread's not about the movie, I put it in spoiler tags.
! Not only did they speed up the pace, but they speed up the pause in dramatic lines, making them feel stale and weak.
! Almost the exact same problem of s-cry-ed. When lines are said fast, and the other characters react in a split second unlike in a real conversation, the mood is lost. Which made the movie fall.
! The problem isn't where they started, or finished, the presentation is sorry, there's no other word for it.
! The battles are nicely animated, but they have less ART DETAIL THAN THE ACTUAL SHOW. Sanji's fight was pathetic. Rapid leg kicks… ARE YOU ******* kidding me?! And let's not get started on the abysmal art that they just had to get close ups of. >_>
! so yeah, hearing Zoro a good movie doesn't make, in fact, I don't care if he's called Zolo or Zoro. Big fucking whoop. There's nothing in that movie that doesn't make me want to punch the producers in the face. Except Gum Gum storm, and lion's song.
I'm just waiting until the first three DVDs are released before I take the plunge into Uncut One Piece. That way, I have plenty to watch. I plan to buy the DVDs in threes. It may mess up the season collection for me, yes, but it's better than buying one DVD at a time.
Besides, I'll be able to see Uncut Sanji in the series. Nobody spoil me please.

I agree with firecrouch. We'll get it when FUNi decides to give it to us. ALthough, I'm rewatching the Arlong arc, and I must say, Luci has her work cut out for her -_-

Patrick Seitz is fine as franky i cant see the voice of Jango sounding like franky it would sound americanly awkward…..I love Water 7 i started off that arc because i always like to watch the end of a series first before i start with it

I'm glad to hear that. I heard Seitz from clips of the One Piece game. It's nothing really like the Japanese voice,yet it's pretty much a perfect equivalent of an English Franky.
I though Seitz was with Studiopolis? Just wondering.
VAs are freelance, he just tends to get most of his work from the LA area.

But on second thought, maybe it's a good thing that it won't be out for a while... The coming months (and the previous months, for that matter) are pretty much stuffed with releases that I just HAVE to get, so One Piece not being out before February makes it easier for me to actually get the other stuff. (As soon as a new OP-release comes out, it is instantly a higher priority than anything else.)
That gives me plenty of time to save up money. Since I'm only really collecting DBZ, Bleach, and One Piece on dvd at the moment.

Eh, First Voyage didn't look so fantastic either. I liked the "unfinished" art more, even though Zoro took up too much space on it. Besides, it's the CONTENT that matters, right? The DVDs could have a crayon-drawing of Aisia from Da Capo S.S. on them, and I'd still buy them.

Well, Best Buy doesn't have it on there yet, so I can't pre-order it... I can't wait for the audio commentary this time. Bring on the funny! (I want to see it top second voyage's commentary.)

I don't think FUNimation follows any sort of strict release schedule, contrary to popular belief, whenever they give out approximate release dates they're just guesses. So get over it people, if you're that concerned just let someone at FUNimation know and hopefully they'll give you a straight answer.

they do have a lot of other anime to dub. they are so busy with their other shows.
just this week they got a new anime that just aired in japan in october. lets jut be happy we won't have any problems with dvds like Geneon and ADV
