As far as I know that was the most major form of protest against the FUNi dub, the petition made by that 10 year-old kid, and that didn't really count to me since he had his information wrong in the first place.
So far, on my thoughts about Cartoon Network not caring about "One Piece" anymore, perhaps there's more truth to that now more than ever. Then again if RomanGod is right, that "One Piece" will indeed be leaving Jetstream as indicated by the June 30th date of expiration, I don't think it's necessarily "One Piece" itself, since the same applies to "DBZ", "DB", and "Bobobo". Or maybe they're taking a break from Jetstream to give room for other new shows debuting soon, you never know and Jetstream is pretty conservative as far as the content available. If it does turn out to be a turn for the worse I see it as part of how Cartoon Network has gotten worse recently, as everyone knows. Cartoon Network is being run by a new group of people that don't have a knack for keeping it unique and creative like it was in the old days, and they're still focusing on shows they make. That's fine, the problem is that for everything else, if it's not a big hit with the 6-11 year-old demographic, it doesn't matter to them. That's how I see it, and even if "One Piece" has gotten more popular it's still not a hit show to Cartoon Network. That's how T.V. in general is, in the old days if a station thought a show was good they gave it time to find an audience. Now if a show isn't a hit from the beginning it gets the plug. Also, the main "One Piece" site from FUNimation still hasn't been fully updated, even though it's been around for a while and there shouldn't really be any more secrets to hide. I dunno, maybe there's some truth to what GaryPotter was saying a while ago?
You know what's interesting is that "One Piece" has had a similar situation in France that it's had in America. The first French dub of the series was apparently bad and took stupid liberties with the original source material, and now Toei Animation is making a better more authentic dub of the first 143 episodes with Kana Video. That same new dub is being aired on the same channel that aired the first French dub of "One Piece"
