Eyeshield 21 is one of my Favorite Mangas, though Viz's screw-ups piss me off. They need Editors!!
Football (American, not dumb ol' Soccer) is one of my Favorite Sports, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out there was a Football Manga. I don't know why you guys have been saying 'Match'. In Football, they call each game a 'Game'.

They were Chibi's for half of the episode and normal for the other half. Shin looks awsome as a chibi x3

Come to think of it, Sena's speed hasn't increased whole series eh. Hopefully now he discovers even more speed.

As shonen as that sounds, it could make sense. Sena pretty much developed his speed being chased and only reaches his maximum whenever under extreme peril. Ever since he started playing football, he's learned to harness the speed, but has usually been faster outside good defensivemen. But now that Shin has finally caught up, he could somehow gain an extra burst that could be the edge..but I don't even know if that could be learned in the middle of such a crucial game.

New chapter out…
! Just before we find out what happen (basically, Shin tackled Sena and is now "fastest player in Japan"), we get a flashback regarding Shin's football development. Probably the only really intriguing parts in this section: Hiruma seeming to know he'll have an "Eyeshield 21" next season after the infamous 99-0 loss (either he knew of Sena at this time or he just wants to taunt him with the possibility he'll have someone like that)..and Ootawara being caught for some reason by German officials. (to explain: Oujo has a campus in Germany and there was training there..thoug I still can't figure out why he's naked).

Ootawara was naked because he's an idiot. What happened a bunch of team dropped out due to the training including apartly Ootawara (Arrested for public nudity) and sakubara (just took him forever)

Though somehow those two did rejoin the team…the coach must have just pushed the younger ones too hard...outside Shin.

Great cover, but at least we finally get one of Shinryuji before the end of their game. Starting next cover, its probably all going to be the current Deimon/Oujo game.

! And this week continues the hype that "Shin has pretty much become invincible". Though on the other hand, I do like some of the other setups the team is coming up with: using Kurita and the sumo wrestler on a defensive play while Jumonji has another go with Ikari. But the ending….well, its the best kind of hope there is in this series: Hiruma has a plan.

Regarding the latest chapter:
! Shin is getting more overpowered and broken, but in a good way imo. I'm glad by saying "Is that all you can do" it implies that he has more stuff up his sleeves, but also saddened by the future inevitable defeat of such an awsome character(or the entire oujo team, for that matter)

I never actually liked Shin myself. Mr. "I'm so great even from the beginning that I'm nearly invincible when they play against me again". Hopefully Deimon does defeat them..let alone Sena, but I guess even if Deimon does lose, I wouldn't mind seeing Oujou still lose in the final game. (particulary if its another rematch with Seibu…those guys get punked every time they play Oujou)

Agon at least had this whole creepy vibe going through him, showing him not only as a jerk but as a monster who uses his power. While not my favorite character, I rather have him over Shin.

If I had to choose between the two I'd probably go with Shin, because he at least has his whole technology thing. Innately serious characters can be fountains of humor.
I haven't been reading recent chapters of this or any other series besides One Piece recently, since internet time has been limited as of late.

oh defintly Shin over Agon! not only is Shin more likeable and funny(tho unintentioly) but i really cant stand Agons jerkish behavior and his lame God impulse that makes him the best at everything and anything without lifting a finger to achive it.
too bad we never got to see Agon cry after he got owned.

Guess the only reason I chose Agon is more based on what I've seen (which is just the Oujou/Shinryuji game, since I didn't follow the series weekly until about the end of the Deimon/Shinryuji game), but I guess I had a chip on my shoulder with Shin since the first Oujou game. While I love that he isn't perfect (particularly how he and technology should never be together), he just seems too perfect outside that…and I can't wait to see how Hiruma takes him apart.

Some good stuff going on this chapter:
! Sort of happy we get a good cross section of the team being used in this chapter with the rushing plan. Sena, Musashi and even Taki get in some good moments for Deimon, while Ikari and Ootawara get some stuff out of the way…and Shin just keeps dominating. (and Cerberus...shampoos in the rain...nuff said) Looks like the plan for the next chapter with Deimon on defense again: hold off Oujou until halftime, then use the second-half to mount the comeback. Well OK, Hiruma said it best: "There's no such thing as an invincible player"...hope that leads to a plan to finally stop Shin.

Man not a very lively topic all the sudden. Maybe this chapter will bring a bigger crowd.
! The bats are on D and something I expected for a while happens with Taki joining with monta to cover sakubara. Shin takes advatage of the weakened line, but sakabara seems to want to face the two of them. We're down to the last seconds and it seems Taki and monta can't keep up with the faster knight, but a last second burst of will from monta scares the QB and sends the pass to a different reciever with a clear path. But Sena meets him at the final yard.

! Sena was able to stop Sakuraba from getting the TD, but most of the chapter was pretty much halftime, with Hiruma prepping the team, mostly Sena (Monta doing his own training) for the second half. Oh, and we get the worst halftime show ever
On the other hand, also saw an ad for the new ES21 cards…looks like they're entering the main tourney since they have one card each for the leaders of Hakushuu, Misaki and Sado. (though in Hakushuu's case, they may get more later pending on their performance against Seibu)

Also I haven't followed the ojo vs devil bat game. What's the score and stuff. I can't remember what chapter I am on. IIRC, I was on the chapter where musashi kicks the field goal making it 3-0. What chapter was that?

well probably cause i Didnt like any of poseidons players, just found the idea of a team thats main strength was being tall lame as hell.
only part i enjoyed was Mizumachi and Komusubis duell at the begining after that i just skimmed thru the manga til it ended and my intrest was reinstated.
