so this strike is going saying that the shows / events written by the people in the guild don't get new material until contract is finalized

Grammies, Nope.
Oscars, Nope.
NAACP Image Awards (for those that don't know this is an awards show for outstanding people of color in film, literature etc.), YEP.

The sad part about this whole thing is that they've officially lost more money in this strike than they ever hoped to gain.

I wonder what their definition of a "good contract" is. I guess they must have lowered their standards due to being on strike for ten weeks because an "excellent contract" can no longer be achieved.

This doesn't surprise me that much. The writer's strike isn't going exactly as the union had planned it, and the media is starting to get bored and looking for new topics. This is a way to garner sympathy and help bring empathy to their 'plight'.

In the end, the writer's strike isn't going to accomplish anything. People may whine, bitch, and moan about not seeing new episodes of their favorite television shows, but in the end they'll still watch whatever crap is placed on the screen in front of them.

Writer's strike started in November. It takes more then 3 months to produce a cartoon. :getlost:
