Ppl say that the new Gamecube thats coming out. It looks kinda like a stereo. Maybe this will get everyones mind off of that PS3 stuff. I think now these days there just trying to hard to make the ultimate system and to make it look cool. -_-

It's called Nintendo Revolution or something.
Nintendo has been talking it up like its something totally new and different and utterly revolutionary. Smacks of gimmickry to me. We should see soon enough.
My thing is this: if it is so radical and different then doesn't it represent a big risk? Gimmicks can backfire and if this one doesn't pan out, well, then what?
I guess Nintendo didn't care to put any effort on cool designing as their competitors did. Which is a shame though, Cube was perhaps the most neatest looking console ever.
Backwards compatible with GameCube, uses full sized dvd discs for games, and will play dvd movies. So far so good.

How exactly is that dropping the ball? Already I like it better than the consoles that make it standard, since I don't freaking have any HDTVs.
Edit: And as for the design of the console… I think it's just as cool as the 360 and the PS3. PS3 and X360 stack using their curves, and the REvolution sits next to them staring at them. ^^

Frankly I don't care which machine has the best design. When it all boils down to it, only the games matter in my eyes.
I wonder if it'll have some form of GBA player.
I think it looks really neat (I'm a nintendo fan myself). I think that a game console is about what it has to offer and how original ideas come out. I think the design isn't the most important though, and who knows that there might even be newer designs that come out along the way.

Its a feature that I look for in a console. Now, if a game comes out on all three consoles there is no chance that I will buy it for Revolution. I will buy the game for one of the consoles with hdtv support. I know a number of other people who will do the same.
Anyway, its only the hardware. They can drop the hardware ball all they like and I'll still buy it. Its all about the games and I love Nintendo's first party games. I need my Zelda and Mario and Metroid.
Design wise, I like it best of the three new boxes. Simple. Slick. Small.
The fullsized discs is probably to be more convenient to 3rd party developers.

Well, recently announced by Nintendo was that the Revolution will be able to download and play every game made by Nintendo within the last 20 years. NES, SNES, N64, and GameCube games made by Nintendo, will all be playable on the Nintendo Revolution.
Even Earthbound was mentioned.
No console will be able to surpass the amount of games that the Nintendo Revolution will have. When Nintendo said that the Revolution would be backwards compatible, they meant it to the extreme.
That's why Nintendo call it the "Revolution". :D :)

If what you're saying is true, then that'd be amazing! Nintendo Revolution would definately be up there in my books then. That, and the design for it ALSO looks modern, compact, and simple. Does this mean I might have to actually consider a Nintendo Revolution? All the next gen consoles looks amazing to me so far, but I've speculated the designs mostly. >_> I'll need to wait for more announced games (to come out) before I consider buying any of them though.
Speaking of the design from earlier, it kind of reminds me of my NES, only modernized.

Unfortunately, Nintendo likes to be mysterious (in other words, mean) and not reveal certain things. The thing they haven't revealed yet is the controller, which they continue to claim is the true reason it's called the Revolution. By now, though, all I can say is that I'm already sold on the revolution, and whatever the controller does will just be an added bonus.
Be wierd if the controller was similar to the DS (touch screen and such).
Nintendo has continuously denyed that it will be a touch screen. However, with this new backwards compatibility, I'm starting to think they're lying just like they lied about Link not changing into a wolf (which he will.)
The thing about a touch screen controller that I can see will be rearranging button layouts. Give the developers intellectual freedom with how to use the controller. Heck, as someone who WANTS to go into the industry, that's something I'd want. In fact, as a prospective developer, Nintendo's DS and REvolution are, right now, what I want to work with the most. I don't want processing power, I want a simple to work with design that gives me intelletual freedom. I even already have an idea for a DS game that would be more than just a "tech demo."

I was never really fond of that game, probably since I don't like the choice of characters within the game (And I'm still wondering how a hand is beating out Kuja…..). Though for most people who enjoy the game a lot, which seems to be everyone I know but me, the online feature sounds interesting!

Sorry to confuse you, I was commenting on my GameFAQs "Got Villians?" bracket. I think it has something to do with the picture of Kuja they used. O_o Master Hand does seem to fit the Smash Brothers environment, I agree. I never said it didn't (seem to).
The Revolution will have wireless controllers. That's the only thing I know about it that hasn't already been said.
Being able to play the old games is great.
But will SSB3 be online only? I can't say I really care for online gaming.
Probably not online only, but even if it is, Nintendo has promised that all first party online games will have no extra charge. I LIKE their online strategy.
How well it, a fighting game, will work in online though? For instance, DOA wasn't that fun at all but that could be partly because I dislike that game already even when playing face to face. But yeah, a new SSB is a good reason in it's own, I hope they will make it feel fresh again.
well so far IMO nintendo is in the lead closely followed by sony :P
i will certainly buy a revolution and then maybe if my economy allows it i will buy a PS3.
