Man, **** you, I'd consider Ratchet one of the "gems" of last-gen. Here're some of my thoughts on the past generation:

With these "best and worst of" game lists, I can't help but wonder if people actually played even half of what they've picked. Especially the worst lists.

One game that's usually called underrated is Viewtiful Joe. That game was awesome.

Same thing here with Ratchet & Clank and God Of War at least Sony is cranking out good exclusive titles/franchise unlike some other company I know.

I like how I haven't heard of some of the games in the overrated lists but heard of all of the ones in the underrated lists.

I tend to go for games with smart level design and using your head as apposed to "I must kill all." (not that all the overrated games I listed don't use the head) Smash Bros. is my one guilty pleasure. I'm not here to offend I'm just strange with my tastes I guess

By the way, how do you think the three most popular manga series relate to the three console companies. Ex: One Piece, Naruto, Bleach with Nintendo, Xbox, Sony.

One Piece= Nintendo (original, excentric and wrongly labeled kiddy when if you look deeper they are both hard core)

Naruto= Microsoft (most mainstream now with 360. Would have been switched with sony last gen)

Bleach= Sony (don't really have a reason other than they both like the colour black)

The Hanna Barbera Snes Games were pretty awesome for their time. I remember times I enjoyed the Flintstones and the Jetsons games far more than something like Mario All Stars! or Mario world. Perhaps because they were a bit more challenging.

Are you kidding me? I've seen tons of people label it the best Zelda game ever. It was very disappointing for me. Not that it was a bad game, but it just didn't live up to my expectations.

I like Twilight Princess a bit more, but Wind Waker is pretty awesome too. (I hope the next game they make is cel-shaded) For some reason OoT didn't do anything for me. I've tried to play it with every re-release it's had and I still can't get into it. Oh well.

Uh let's see.
The God of War series always seemed a tad over praised to me. I had a friend who always told me how much better they were than DMC so when I actually got to play it I was a little let down. Still good though.
I don't really get the Ratchet and Clank hate either, I've only played the PS3 game but it's pretty awesome.

I always felt GUNVALKYRIE was rather underrated. It seems that these days any shooting game that has an above average difficulty level, and that actually requires you to take the time to intimately learn the controls is automatically something to be avoided.

I'd could get past the kid link bit and was the cel-shading design that scared me away.

The God of War series always seemed a tad over praised to me. I had a friend who always told me how much better they were than DMC so when I actually got to play it I was a little let down. Still good though.

That kinda reminds over at the IGN forums where you had people casually bashing the game calling it bad for no known reason.

I haven't played much of Viewtiful Joe, but you could tell it was an awesome game from the tutorial. The freakin' tutorial.

seriously need to pick it up, got the DS version, but didn't like it as much as the GC one, though its still a good game.

If you decide to buy it the game's not that expensive. I've seen used copies for about $5 at Gamestop.

Whatever, I just hope Galaxy doesn't dissapoint me as much as Sunshine and 64 did, even tough 64 has the perfectly understandable excuse of being one of the first games released for the Nintendo64.

I swear god I tought Geno and Mallow were a couple the first time I saw them in the cover of a Nintendo Power Magazine. Mallow looked like a chubby marshmallow woman and Geno like a weird spring nosed puppet. I was actually surprised when I found out his "nose" was hair….

Never got the appeal behind Geno, he was a really dull character.

And most of Marios games are pretty good for the record. The only real "bad" Mario games are the Mario Party games and that's mostly cuz they make so godammn many of em.

And even if Mario games started sucking, pretty sure most people still wouldn't complain since it's Nintendee.

The only thing I truly liked about Geno was "Geno Beam" and "Geno Blast" because I was just too much into beams when I was little….

Besides that, I have to admit Mallow had a pretty decent Segment in the game; however, it was mostly because the Cloud Kingdom concept rather than all his sad prince tale.

Theres also Hotel Mario for the CD-i, But I don't think even Nintendo acknowledges that as a Mario game .

And there are some who would say the Super Mario Bros. 2 was the "worst" one. Mainly due to the fact that it wasn't a real Mario game. But they can suck it.

Anyways I know I'm gonna get some flak for this one, but going back to those 3D Zeldas…

On Mario RPGs:

Mario is one of the best RPG series of all time. All five of his RPGs are critically acclaimed, strong selling cult hits. My favorite's either Paper Mario or SMRPG, but all five are excellent.

And no, Super Paper Mario is not an RPG. It's just a platformer with some interesting/unusual mechanics.

It's amusing how you brought up Animal Crossing, since I played Wild World today for the first time on over a year. Shame Coustau or however his name was spelled wasn't in the DS game, since he was my favorite villager. At least Hugh was.

But yeah, when I first played it I thought you would have to actually eat the fruit for some reason. Then I realized there wasn't really any point in doing it.

I posted it basically because I needed something to back up the common knowledge that not a lot of people think very highly of Majora's Mask (also I couldn't find the Game Makers episode featuring Zelda) as opposed to The First Zelda,A Link To The Past,Ocarina Of Time, even Wind Waker probably get's more praise to MM so despite early claims Majora's Mask isn't overated as some would believe it to be.
