I Got A Copyright Infringement From Youtube! Now I'm worried!

Hey everyone

I just got this through from Youtube today and it worried me silly because I thought I had lost my account :sad:

Where did I go wrong though! Is it because I found this Naruto video on Animemusicvideos.org and uploaded it or because it is "Naruto"?

I also got this link from them

and now I am really confused.

Am I still ok to upload my own AMV creations? I mean they use 'copyrighted' material but they are my creation so is this risky?

I can understand taking someone else's AMV and uploading it being a violation even if you give them credit but what if it entirely your own Amv!

I am now paranoid about the safety of my other amv's on there as I've never gotten one of these before. I am well aware that they have been cutting down on material over the last year but :cwy:

What shall I do now? Move all the AMV.org videos I upload to another account and keep my own videos safe or what?

I am so sorry for my paranoidness but I don't want my 2 year account to be deleted :sad:

That's exactly it. The animation is the property of the copyright holder (the animation company or license holder for the series) and so the holder asks for it to be taken down. Youtube's really been cracking down on this lately, so don't worry, you're not the only one. They used to let AMVs slide but not anymore.

All I can really suggest is upload your AMVs to another video sharing site that's a bit more obscure and lax on the copyright stuff, like, I don't know, maybe Veoh.

You can make videos private on YouTube or reduce the tag filter to something arbitrary like a number, which people then search for. If you make a very troll-attractive video like a Naruto AMV (which I would rate AA, AAA if it has a Linkin Park music track) it will get flagged.

If I am still creating my own AMV's with other Animes that arn't new or Naruto, I should be okay shouldn't I?

You don't have permission to use copyrighted material.
Making an AMV with copyrighted material is still illeagle, because you simply don't have permission/rights to use those clips.

1. No one from TV Tokyo did it, just some everyday smoe like you and me.
2. When it comes to AMV's and such, if you didn't make it you shouldn't upload it.

Anyway,my AMV's are so unfrequented -

but I DID a good compilation of Dali paintings with morbid music.Not gonna link it, though (the owners of the song is the corporation in France,who made Spartacus and the Sub Beneath the sea/Les Mondes engloutis and it was only the background music. I doubt they even function today,anymore)

A: Are no longer than 30 seconds, as was said.

B: Contain either the audio or video, but not both.

When I just stared on YouTube, I made a penguin video. It had a GIF of the penguin walking, then another smacking it in the head; falling over. It had that animation as a still picture, and I got a letter saying the photo was copyright. O.o

Wow, I found out I have bad spelling. I also found out you're an ass. No fucking duh I have bad spelling. Though seriously, why target me? I just said he had no permission to use the copyrighted material. Being an AMV, I assume it's MORE than 30 seconds. I basically said one thing, so would you kindly shut the hell up?

See? It's completely random. I know several people who have had accounts suspended for doing nothing but upload animations they've made. On the other hand, I know a guy who has several CBS News reports and no one cares. I suspect it's some ass who thinks he's cool that killed your penguin. YouTube really needs to make it harder to report copyrights.
