I'm just curious about which saga does Chopper appear in the anime? I've only seen the crappy dub. Right now the dub is on the Arlong Saga. (And this site is called Arlong Park! What a coincidence!). How far away is Chopper?

He shows up in the Drum Island arc (ep.78-91). His first appearance is ch.134 in the manga and episode 81 in anime. Hope that helps
-
Ah. So he's still pretty far away. Thank you, that's twice you've helped me today!
-
We're hoping 4kids doesn't get there.
-
Then don't wacth it if 4kids gets there
-
4kids dosen't deserve to get there.
-
But it will notheless….
-
Not if the ratings drop below suck.
feels bad for the people who can only watch the dub
-
I feel bad for myself (only on that situation), but at least I can read scantlations to catch up manga-wise.
-
Yes, if you can read the manga up to the current chapters, you're all good. ^_^ But it's best that you don't sully your mind with the awful voices of the dub, you can ruin the characters. ;)
-
I just come up with voices for them when I read  .
-
I do that too…even though I like the Japanese voices. It's involuntary.
-
The dub is really not bad enough for people who had'ent seen the original to really take notice, so people be thinking that is how the show really is. Which is partially wrong. I'm preety sure 4Kids will keep One Piece till the Drum Island arc because the show is doing preety good now and they know it's a long and good series. The ratings are gonna have to take a VERY unexpected complete drop to get the show cancaled. But I'm still saying THANK GOD One Piece did'nt turn out as bad as Cardcaptors. Whoo, that was terrible

Worse than rubber knives, hospitals, and possessed chakrams? Surely, you jest. =P

Yes worse. If you ever seen the ORIGINAL Cardcaptor Sakura you'll understand. Compared to that, One Piece's dub is good!
-
Actually im looking forward for 4KIDS to get pretty far for One-Piece. I just wanna see what ideas they come up with to edit all of the stuff to come.
To me, I find it quite entertaining.
-
Alabasta comes to mind.
Can they have a war on Saturday morning?

Yes…it...is. Bad is bad. There's not getting around it. I've heard from plenty of people who've never seen the original who agree.

I do too, although part of me really wants to not watch it. Curiosity usually gets the better of me.
pictures dub Usopp and dub Luffy in Water 7  And what the heck would they do to Franky? XD

Most people I know who haven't seen the original say "so and so's voice scares me" and "I'd watch the show, but I can't stand the voices".
-
My freinds who like it here say the story's good and so is the fighting, but they can't stand how the characters look. I asked them if they think the voices are bad, but none of them really said anything. They said they don't really care for the voices and that it sounds normal to them. I just shrugged it off, tryin not to tell them what I think of Sanji's voice. After all we want more One Piece fans, and even if watching the dub is the only way they'll see it, I won't really care since we'll have more One Piece fans!

Wow, you folks sure like to rant!

You're right! I don't think badly of the dub voices because they're the only voices that I know. I only notice the horrible 4shame censorship. I can tell when something's been censored even without seeing the original. It's not just One Piece either, can anyone say "Tokyo Mew Mew?" <_<
-
I guess if all you're used to watcing is all the crappy anime dubs on Saturday morning, then it would be normal. Like if you grew up around Michael Jackson on Neverland Ranch and didn't communicate much with the outside world, you'd think HE was normal.

You call that shit One Piece though?
Its like watching Wish Bone and claiming to have read A Tale of Two Cities.
No you didn't….. -

**Yes Zephos. Even if the dub is bad the ORIGINAL story is still there so the show is still One Piece. The dub is not bad enough to be considered a different show like (and I'll say it again since it's that bad!) Cardcaptors.
-
Even if the dub is bad the ORIGINAL story is still there
At least bits of it are.
There is no rubber knife…

**As stupid as that was.. I mean the main story, The quest for One Piece and becoming King of the pirates, and all the characters dreams as well. The only MAJOR story altering they did in the dub was that they left Kuina to live. But other than that we've had some STUPID edits, but none that really changed the main story dynamicly. So it's still the same show, just not a very good version of it.

Thats like calling a skeleton a living human.

Now that's just an exaggeration. Granted the dub sucks. But it's still leages away from making the show COMPLETLY different.
