Toru Furuya have step down from being the voice of Sabo.
-
I made a chart with Google showing the number of chapters and pages adapted per episode if anybody wants to check that data out:
The chart is small (on account of the data being SO MUCH), but you should be able to navigate it via interactive components.
This is based on data from the Wiki (which can sometimes be inaccurate) and Chapters per Episode is the sum of the ratios of pages adapted from a given chapter to the total number of pages in the given chapter. This calculation DOES include cover stories, but not Animal Theaters or Reader Requests or Color Spreads unless the events depicted in those spreads are canonical (rare).
Any major conclusions to make? Not really. Egghead is currently better paced than early Wano, shorter chapters means higher Chapters per Episode values even if the number of pages remains low.
For the sake of more readable data, I went ahead and released the whole spreadsheet with additional charts for various season groups and all the raw numbers. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQfXj0phPLPqdvJJzu3dLiuujjRJOCVtW0ym_XUB7XI6s4mL7I4fB6kKGNvH3JdYEocL4Xr4N9qkZ6p/pubhtml
I'll try and keep this document updated weekly as much as possible.

Sabo's new VA have been announced.
-
I'm mostly familiar with his Sora (KH) and Sena (E21) voice. Already going to get to hear it in a few days, that's crazy.

Hi guys :)
Before I get to the topic of this post, let me introduce myself, my name is GoodOldZinc, I love watching anime and movies, playing
video and board games, and I usually read manga. Nice to meet you.I also want to give a disclaimer because I want to be honest with you guys, I asked this question many times on many of forums
including this one a couple years ago. And I'm not doing this with any bad intentions whatsoever, I swear that I legitimately don't know
the answer and it's driving me nuts, and when I do get an answer something happens that brings me back to square one.
So I decided to join this forum, and others, and ask the question one last time and hopefully get a closure to this question. My question is about the One Piece anime, please note that I do not read the manga, and the question is this:
In the Skypiea arc in the One Piece anime series, Enel, who is the main antagonist of that arc, says he's "god", is that true?
And if so, does he mean he’s A god, like Thor from the Marvel comic book franchise or does he mean he’s THE God, the one one that Muslims and Christians pray to?
And did any of the Straw Hat Pirates believed him?
-
First, welcome!
It’s been a long time since I’ve looked into Skypiea, but I remembered it as Enel having a god complex and declaring himself to be a god especially with his devil fruit powers. So to me it’s more of the former and not an actual entity that oversees the world.
What do the others think?
-
The title of Skypiea's ruler is God. But Enel is also legitimately insane and thought he was a God in the actual divine sense.
-
Hi guys :)
Thank you for the answers, I appreciate it.

no, he's not an actual god or the god, he simply declared himself to be a god, due to his devil fruit power making him pretty much invincible to regular people, and most other devil fruit users,
you also gotta take into account that at this point, Haki was not yet a thing, only explained here as "mantra"
which in Enel's case was actually Kenbunshoku Haki.
the type of Haki to deal with a Logia user such as Enel, was not introduced until much much later. -
i'm not religious, but i am pretty sure muslims and christians don't pray to the same god.
-
no, because he was just a bad guy in their way,
even if he had been an actual god, Luffy would not have given a flying F regardless.

Since there is a recap episode this week. Here's the preview for next week episode.
-
Why do we have these really similar episodes, didnt this happen already?
-
Franky's VA might be replaced in the foreseeable future. Jango's one is replaced for next week's episode.
Kazuki Yao will be replaced by Wataru Takagi. For those who don't know, in One Piece, he voiced: Bellamy, Van Decken.
Outside of OP, he voiced Onizuka, Knuckle, Obito, Okuyasu. Obito sounded a little weird in Naruto but he does have range but mostly does a certain type of middle-aged/senior voice that does suit Franky. If Kazuki Yao's replacement is permanent, he'll be deeply missed simply because of how unique his voice is.Health concerns is...open to intepretation. It might be a surgery or a short term rest or a severe condition that would disallow him to do work on that level long-term again. We don't know at this point in time.
Knowing how closely Oda works with the Animation team/Voice actors at Toei, there might be a chance that he chose to write less of Franky in Egghead because of this. He did design Franky after Kazuki afterall. -
This is devastating, Franky was created explicitly to keep Yao working as a castmember, Oda loved Yao and so did the fanbase. If he leaves the show it will be a major loss.

IIRC The only times the main SH VAs were subbed out was when Okamura (Nami) and Otani (Chopper) were on maternity leave and it only lasted a few episodes here and there, and comparatively early into the anime's run. To potentially lose Yao in the last stretch of the series would be heartbreaking.
Hope he gets well.

Yuriko Yamaguchi (Robin) was also absent during some episodes due to maternity leave. Not the greatest timing, as they were the end of Enies Lobby.
Really hope Yao gets well and can continue voicing Franky until the end.
Btw, Takagi already voiced Jango during Jango's Dance Carnival, the only time Yao didn't.

Yuriko Yamaguchi managed to dub the famous I WANT TO LIVE scene so I am grateful for that. It was not a Kotono Mitsuishi situation where she didnt get to be in the first Season's finale.

People who've been watching some of Yao's TV/live actions appearances note that he seems to have suffered some form of partial facial paralysis late in 2023 which is why Franky started sounding really muffled and slurred around the New Year. It's sounded to me like he's cleared up a little bit in later Egghead episodes compared to at the start of the arc, but yeah it's very unfortunate. Those people noted that his energy level seemed to be fine otherwise, at least earlier in the year. I'm obviously not a doctor or medical professional so I don't know how easy or feasible it is to treat that sort of thing given how debilitating (possible) strokes can be, micro or otherwise.
It would be a crying shame if he bowed out of the role permanently; he's not even the oldest Straw Hat voice actor (Hoki, Tanaka, and Cho are ahead of him).
