Kind of surprised this game hasn't been mentioned on here… anyone remember/still play this awesome game? On a console or arcade?

I own the Nintendo 64 version and still play it. It's tons of fun, but even more so with others. I was playing with my nephews and I had to keep yelling at them to follow me (or else you're stuck on opposite sides of the screen without moving anywhere) or having to tell them to use potions to kill Death.

Then there was a time when none of us had potions (because they like to use them up early) and Death was chasing us, that was fun.

Which character is your favorite? Level? Boss?

I'm most fond of the yellow Egyptian looking wizard -- at least until I get the Jackal which I always name Anubis.
I've always liked the Airship in town for some reason, I'm not sure why, maybe I just like to pretend I'm a sky pirate as I climb to the crow's nest and such.
As for bosses, I'm not sure really. Yeti and Chimera are amazingly easy with the legend weapons; Dragon not hard either. Plague was the one that gave me SOME trouble but I beat him on first try. So I guess I have to say Skorne...

Also, you gotta wonder whatever happened to Nintendo's amazing marketing strategy such as this:

I played the arcade game once as Pojo the chicken and the N64 port. Fucking win game. The N64 port was good but it had some slowdown when there were 4 or more players, especially during spellcasting. Still not a bad port, and it should be on VC with an updated framerate or online play or something.

Also, WIZARD NEEDS FOOD BADLY. (Yeah, it's from the original but it's worth mentioning)

I played this on the Dreamcast. God was this game fun with friends.
My friends and I found this one place where monsters kept spawning, so we took the controller and put a rubber band on it so it would keep killing the spawning monsters. Quick level ups XD

I've heard the dreamcast version differs from the Nintendo one; perhaps a different world used or something.

I know the arcade differs quite a bit. "Wizard needs food badly" sounds funny haha, but I like the wziard's line for picking up food best in my game. "Mmm, that's good!"

              N64 has:

              Mountain world with Dragon
              Castle world with Chimera
              Town world with Plague
              Snow world with Yeti
              Desecrated Temple/Cathedral with Skorne
              Battlefield
              Skorne Again

I haven't done rubber bands (though I've thought of it, but I'm already high level anyways, no point) but I have purposely dragged out battles for experience, and eventually the generators are empty. I always thought they were infinite. Though, another hit against the generator usually pumps the map full of monsters again, just the lesser being of the previous.

Anyways, I've been replaying this game and made it back to Battlefield: Trenches.

I have dark legacy for the PS2. This was one of the big games me and dad played together (and one of the few we finshed.) I normally play the blue dwarf or knight while he provides long range support with the archer.

Though I'll admit to messing around with the jester in single player. Can't be playing a lunatic armed with a puppet-on-a-stick and a limitless supply of bombs.

                Good times.
