I disagree, if only because King Geedorah's Take Me To Your Leader is not only exceptional, but the most bizarre thing DOOM has released. It's more "interesting" to listen to and elevates it above Vaudeville Villain to me. I mean he pretends to be a space monster for the entire album
Compared to his Viktor Vaughn work which is for all intents and purposes basically just DOOM with a different name that follows a concept album. It's still really great, but there's something special about King Geedorah to me.

I got it. I think it was fairly good, though there were some songs that definitely shouldn't be on an album of that caliber. I can't stand Follow us. My favorite tracks are Tangerine, the Train part 2, Daddy Fat Sax and Shine Blockas.
A good album but slightly uneven.
In more of my radio self-promotion, I'm planning on getting a show next semester with a friend that's just hip-hop and jazz. It should be interesting, seeing as there is a very distinctive link between the two genres, though it's still kind of odd having them side by side. If that gets off the ground and not just lost amidst a green haze, it should be pretty nice.
It won't be odd if you play Jazz Rap or stuff that samples it.

Yeah, jazz hip-hop was definitely on the agenda, though I was probably going to ask for recommendations, too, seeing as my collection doesn't extend too deeply. I started experimenting with some of those, actually, mixing them with Mingus and Blakey among others and it's sounding very nice. I'll let you know when this takes off.
Also, do you happen to know any more hip-hop songs/groups that feature live jazz performers? Things like A Tribe Called Quest playing with Ron Carter. I know Max Roach has involved himself in some hip-hop stuff and Davis was working with that type of material before he died. It would be really cool to feature more of that type of crossover.

Yea like Jerk said chopped and screwed musc is probably the slowest you're going to get. They are songs like 20 minutes long if you find the right albums. Two classics off the top of my head.

Tyler, The Creator is the leader of the outfit and he's probably the most matured member, so it works. The whole concept of a psychiatric appointment "spilling his guts" is incredibly realised here and I think it's just a pretty wicked track overall. It's simultaneously mostly an intro track (thus the beat and the tone is a bit mellow, maybe somebody might find it boring) and the crazy shit he gets up to later on the album is probably more impressive, but I still think it's pretty rad.
I like how the theme carries over the rest of the work too. I hate calling it a concept album though, because it seems like something ofwgkta would shit over. Other good tracks from members are:

off the top of my head. Hodgy Beats, Mike G, Domo Genesis also have some awesome solo albums. There's just so much material. I recommend, if you're interested in these lads, to get into them now before it's just a tidal wave of dozens of releases with no clear starting place in sight.

I just downloaded Birth of a Prince and I am not saying it was bad album but nothing blew me away. Grits was pretty good. Chi Kung and Fast Cars were entertaining. I know he has some really good songs for Wu Tang. I love CREAM and Protect Ya Neck. Got anymore really good ones? Somebody also recommended me Young RJ. I haven't looked into him yet but if you've heard of him can you tell me if he's good or not before I waste my time. I mentioned J Dilla and they said he is similar.

I actually really don't care much for Little Brother. They're alright, but I just find them dull. Especially the production, 9th Wonder is a snore to me.

Magnificent City, though I haven't revisited it in awhile, I recall as very good, so check that out. Madmen got it's theme song music from it actually.
Most people might tell you to skip the genre experiments he's made more recently. Lightning Strikes which is reggae-rap, and Lonely Ones which is....doo-wop rap.
They aren't spectacular or anything, but they're both pretty fun.
You should also check out the group Aceyalone got started in, The Freestyle Fellowship. The first two albums are good stuff.

Hip Hop was good until Lil Wayne became popular. I know its cliche to say that, but so many rappers now copy off his style that there is very little originality when it comes to rapping. Kanye's new album is good though.

The Beatnuts don't sound much like any of the actual Native Tongues, and their Membership is insanely loose and frankly even debateable.
They don't make stuff anything like De La Soul, Tribe, the JBs, or Latifah.
But they do sort of fall in line with Black Sheep.
The first EP they did was good, and their first album is wonderful, the second album was also great.
