Your favorite fictional character

There's probably a thread like this somewhere, but I fail at the search feature.

This can be a cartoon character, sitcom, action whatever. I guess it can even include comics and video games. Probably should just exclude anime, since there's a ton of those types of threads in the manga section.

For me, it's a three way tie.

John Abbruzi from Prison Break is the shit. Everytime he says something all I think is "What a badass." Sure the mafia thing has been done, but this guy is just awesome. I haven't finished watching PB, but I'm sure he gets better (yeah, I know he dies at some point.) The fact that he's the spitting image of Crocodile (minus the scar) puts his badassery score above the rest.

Next is Sawyer from Lost. Sure, he's the "Sasuke" of Lost, but he's another bad ass character. He's incredibly clever, he's got street smarts, and he's not that stupid. Plus his huge bag of nicknames doesn't stop me from laughing. The episode with Hurley fixing the car made me love Sawyer's personality, especially when he called Charlie "Jiminy Cricket". I lol'd.

Last would be Tyler Durden, from Fight Club. The movie itself was freaking insane, especially after you re-watch it. But Tyler was the shit. His clothing makes him look even cooler, and when he re-appears at the end of the movie with the fur coat it made me think "He looks like Doflamingo." The fact that the character is a literal mind fuck makes him one bad ass mofo. Even if he wasn't real.

It's ridiculous, especially since he was the character made to be hated, but I love him more than anything and wish the writers hadn't treated him like shit.

Warren Mears from Buffy and Edmund from King Lear are probably tied for second.

TV-Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce (MAS*H) and Sean Spencer (Psych). Hawkeye is just a really entertaining character (when he's not being overtly dramatic), and his interactions with the cast are interesting and fun. It's especially awesome when he and Trapper/B.J. go into a ten minute span of one liners. And Sean Spencer is just a really likable sort of character.

Cartoons-Hubert Farnsworth (Futurama). He's the fucking professor, old and hilarious for the victory.

I can't decide on a movie character for now, and also, do books go into this category?

I'll edit this in a second to put descriptions and a few others.

Dwight (The Office - The American Version) - The influence of his role on the office its self is great. Without it, the office wouldn't be as half as good as it is. All the quirky and serious acts he performs are great. Plus, the secret romance with the strict Angela was a nice touch, since it wasn't in the British version. Oh, and not to mention "Schrutes Beet Farm."

Jack Donagee (30 Rock) - Alec Baldwin is one of my favorite actors ever, and his cocky yet hilarious role in this is great. I wouldn't even watch this show if he wasn't in it.

Locke (Lost) - I liked how he was the sort of jack-of-all-trades and fearless character in this, and it was enjoyable to see what other tricks he had up his sleeve. Even though he didn't always keep a cool head under pressure, he was usually one of the first to find out some of the most dangerous and interesting secrets on the island, which is why I wanted to see as much of him as possible.

Teddy Duchampe (Stand By Me) - This being one of my favorite movies of all time, I've bound to have a favorite actor or two off this. In fact, the group of four boys and Keifer Sutherland were great as their roles. Well, Teddy was of course, the reckless one of the group who had the "loony" as his father. I liked how often he had a mental fit and went after someone who made fun of him, but he usually kept spirits up in dark times. Actually, the entire bond of the boys in the movie was great. Gordie's strong leadership, and his mental conflict. Chris' tough attitude, but great friendship towards Gordie. Vern's innocence and, of course how he made the movie run by hearing about the dead body.

Jack Bauer (24) - Best badass character ever.

Even as I type this, my mind struggles to choose. My favorite character tends to change depending on what's happening with said characters. At times, the number one spot has been ocupied by Usopp, Faust VIII, Brook, Shinji, Homer Simpson, Hawkeye from MAS*H, & Rock Lee.

Hmm… This is tough. All-time favorite, I have no idea, so I'll just try and post my favorites from certain categories.

Books: Winston from 1984. Something about him's just… lovable. And I have absolutely no idea what that something is.

TV: There's a crapload of good ones in this category, but I think I'm gonna have to go with Dr. Rodney McKay from Stargate: Atlantis. David Hewlett's just an all-around brilliant actor, and he pulls off McKay as lovably snarky, witty, jackassy, adorable, and a bunch of other epic qualities.

Reality(ish) TV: I'm adding this category, simply because I absolutely love Toshihiro Takeda from Ninja Warrior. He's so goddamn adorable…

Movies: HMMMM, this has to be something from Star Wars. Oooooh, General Veers. He was such a freaking badass.

Manga/Anime: Nero from One Piece. I swear, he has like 5 fans out there. I'm proud to be one of them.

Cartoons: Hahaha… I hardly ever watch cartoons anymore. Gonna go with Valmont from Jackie Chan Adventures.

Comics: GAMBIT. X-men was the greatest comic series, ever.

Video games: To me, characters rarely stand out in games. It's always more the games themselves that I really remember. However, I need to choose someone… I haven't played a Tomb Raider game in at least 5 years, but Lara Croft is one of the most badass characters of all time.

Ed Deline, Las Vegas ~ Despite his age, he was the toughest guy in the city and the undisputed boss of the Montecito. Nobody could fuck with him and even though he has that incredible amount of badassery, he cares for his workers and loves his family.

Jack Bauer, 24 ~ I was beaten to it, but I have to mention him. The sixth 24 hours starts January 6th and I can hardly wait to see how Jack shows, once again, how things should be done.

Joey Tribbiani & Phoebe Buffay & Ross Geller, Friends ~ My favourite characters from the best sitcom I've ever seen.

Ryan + Cyril O'Reilly & Vernon Schillinger & Augustus Hill & Leo Glynn & Miguel Alvarez & Father Ray Mukada & Simon Adebisi, Oz ~ The show features quite a bunch of characters to choose from, but these people are my favourites. If I had to name just one, I'd go for Cyril O'Reilly. His actor does a phenomenal job and Cyril was the one glint of 'innocence' in the series.

Seth Cohen, The O.C. ~ He's cute, nerdy, witty and super funny.

Gil Grissom, CSI Las Vegas ~ Intelligent, charismatic and… I dunno, he just rocks!

Hiro Nakamura, Heroes ~ He was pretty much the reason I started watching the show in the first place.

Roland, Dark Tower ~ He kicks all kinds of ass, but is by no means perfect. He has his faults, but they serve his character well and make him seem more deep.

Raistlin Majere & Tasslehoff Burrfoot, Dragonlance ~ My relationship with Raistlin variates from hate to love, but Tasslehoff deserves all of it. The love, I mean.

Hard to pick real favorites, since I fall in and out of love with characters quickly. Guess I'll just post my longest-standing favorites.

Catwoman – one of the first idols I remember having when I was a kid
Jack Flemming -- Fictional vampire P.I. in Prohibition era Chicago. Been reading his books since I was 10 and I still love that he's a fairly well-adjusted, regular guy with a wise-ass streak instead of an angsty, swishy, Eurotrash fop.
Batman -- He was cool when I was 6, and he's still cool now. He's Batman, and he's awesome.
Cast of Utena -- They're so screwed up and dysfunctional that even the loss of one would mean the rest wouldn't be as interesting. Still one of my favorite series even 7 years after seeing it for the first time.
Cast of One Piece -- I love them all and have for years. One of my all-time favorites.
Hellboy -- Love the comic, have for years, and he's the reason why. I'll read solo HB, but solo BPRD doesn't do much for me.
Cast of Firefly -- Again, one where I can't chose a definite favorite because without one of them, the rest would lose some dynamic that I love. If I had to, Mal, probably. But I still love that show even 4 years after I first saw it. If I still love it after that long, it goes on the all-time list.
