I am for death
Characters like Pell coming back to life simply cheapens the effect of his "sacrifice"
when characters randomly survive when they should have died it make readers feel that characters are never in danger as some crazy plot device will come along to save them
This is what I was saying George RR Martin KILLS people and thus makes his readers afraid for his characters
Oda = not so much
Hell, I was half expecting Odr to somehow keep going after Luffy's shadow was returned

I've never read any of Martin's novels, but from what I've heard, he kills off characters a ton. He's somewhat unusual though, and not every story needs that much death I think.
Compared to other Shounen manga, I don't think Oda is that bad. It seems like many shounen don't kill off characters (at least good guys) very often at all, Oda's somewhat unique in that the villains also have the same protection from death. (Though I myself still think that Arlong is actually dead.)

New idea! Arlong saves them (yes that was a joke). BTW, I just thought of something… So Luffy just beat Moria, somehow they will beat or escape Kuma, but right after that they have Jinbei... The Shichibukai are all gonna get smashed up pretty quickly here. Then all thats left is Doflamingo, a guy we don't know about yet and Blackbeard, Blackbeard will probably one of his final opponents though... Also, does Luffy have to fight the Youkou? O btw, I think the title comes from Kuma "squishing" everyone.

- I like the idea, as it goes to show that there are several (good) possibilities for the strawhats to fight Kuma.My personal favorite would be luring Kuma into another "bear shock" attack while Ussop created some kind of explosive aerosol around him - that would be really funny. Or perhaps Nami manages to works out his teleportation pattern and gets some advantage…
Combine all of those and you get "team useless" bringing trouble to a shichibukai - I´d really like this
.Edit: What I would not like, is another unrealistic escape à la "Buster Call".

Franky could turn Odr into a giant Cyborg, though. It'd be a little cliche, but wacky enough for One Piece.

Anyways, didn't Franky say something about adding another dock after finding something neat? I think a Mecha would be the pinnacle for the Strawhats, specially since Oda happens to like Giant Robots…..

Yeah, so why not a transformation device? The SH would need a Mecha if they even dream about passing the many sub-division crews of the Yonko, specially since I doubt Usopp alone could take on a ship filled with pirates that know how to use their cannons while Luffy and company do nothing but attempts of defending the ship.

I guess I'm in the minority that actually wants Kuma to take Luffy. I wouldn't mind if Kuma took Luffy to Mariejoa and the Straw Hats had to rescue him. But I would expect a twist: The rest of the Straw Hats continue on their way to Fishman Island, and Luffy ends up escaping from Mariejoa himself. He then meets up with his crew on Fishman Island near the end of that arc.
Maybe not. Whatever happens and however it happens, I just hope it will be fun to read.

I think just before the blast, Luffy wakes up. He turns into a giant (with Gear 3) and protects everyone with his body. Luffy then tries to stop Kuma with all his might, but fails miserably because he took too much damage. Just when Kuma is about to finish everyone again, he gets a call from an even higher superior, telling him to abort the mission. The superior explains that the news about Moria's defeat has already reached the whole world, because the shadows have returned to their original masters (some marines' shadows were also stolen, see chapter 483). As a consequence, Moria can no longer represent the shichibukai. The WG gives Kuma a new order: to capture Luffy alive and make him the new shichibukai to replace Moria. Kuma makes the offer to the SH and Luffy says......

My prediction..
The Strawhats and the Lola's will die. Kuma will take Luffy ( he survived because he's rubber, thus inmune to shockwaves) away, but after he teleports back to Marioeja, Perona's soul will sunndely show up to stop the souls of the Strawhats and the Lola's from going to heaven. She then will use her astral abilities to take their souls back to their bodies, right after pointing out she's now a ghost caught in the middle of the afterlife. Her last wish will be for the Strawhats to beat down Kuma for what he did to her, and after that, she will leave to wander forever as a lonely ghost.
Hogback and Absalom will show up at time to sneak into the sunny.
The next arc will be about the Strawhats looking for Dragon instead of trying to save Luffy.

God that Luffy is so hypnotizing. Can't stop staring. Luffy is melting my brain.
Anyhow, I really hope the next chapter jumps right back to the action. I can't wait to see how things turn out.
In my opinion if Brook doesn't do anything to help the situation then I'll be disapointed if he becomes a straw hat. I'm not saying he has to succeed or defeat anyone. But to at least do something to help the situation would please me since I'm still annoyed at him for not saying "NO WAY!!" with everyone.

I also share this theory, and back it up with the fact that Brooke was the only person not to do anything before Kuma in this chapter. I've said this a few times already, but hey, it's been a few weeks.
Although, I'd love to see Moria get back up and own ass, as unlikely as that is. Hey, maybe Hogback will wake him up with some special medicine, so this can happen adding controversy to Luffy's victory. There is a chance of those two doing something before this arc ends, seeing as they're basically completely okay…damn Absolom can take damage.
