I couldn't find a thread for this so just lock it if there already is one
After DDVIII, I'm definetly gonna get my hands on this. I can't tell if this art is Toriyama, is it? That chick doesn't look his style.

The game looks alright. If I find out that it's any good, I'll consider picking it up.
Isn't this a remake of DQ1?
I'll probably pick it up once used copies start popping up, it always did catch my interest. But it's been such a long time coming out I nearly had forgotten about it.
Also, pretty sure it's not a remake of DQ1.
Yeah, unless I get a tremendous amount of cash I'll probably be picking this one up when it's used or something.
And all signs point to Toriyama art, unless someone lied =[
Oh, another console DQ game, and for a console I'm getting? I still gotta beat DQVIII, if this one is anywhere near as good as it consider it bought brand new.
Yes, it is Toriyama's art style. He can draw his girls without big knockers and muscles. :P
And no, this game isn't a remake. It's a brand new title.
But you gotta admit, those three characters on there are different from his usual rehashed characters. Seriously, it was odd having the Hero look like a gender-bended Pan, Angelo look like Trunks, and Morrie look like Mr. Satan…and that's only a few examples from just THAT game.
Still...I wouldn't have those characters look any different way.
I think he developed a new "myspace emo hoochie" archetype for this game's cover
Yeah, the girl is definitely lolita fashioned.
I wouldn't go for any girl who's hair looks like it could eat me.
I kinda hope the game doesn't get too boring.
Automatically (I guess) walk two feet. Stop. Monsters appear. Shake Wiimote. Rinse. Repeat.

2 Words for you: Metal Slimes.
Here's a 1UP video coverage. The reaction was pretty good, aside from some control issues.
So:
You play in first person, both in towns and in fighting.
It's not turn based like we know of.
You use the wiimote as a sword & shield. (how does this work with magic or other stuff?)
I'm not liking what they're saying about the controls, the wiimote isn't as responsive as it should be and you gotta hold your arm out and it's gonna get tired fast. I hope a lot of this is fixed before the US release but I doubt it.
It wouldn't surprise me if Square-Enix gave the US a similar treatment like with DQVIII. The US version had voice acting, new animations, new spells and attacks, newer sound effects and a different menu layout.
Actually, wasn't bonus content announced for the stateside release?
who could forget this little bastard
No one as he was in the last game

I hate it when people use possible fatigue as a Con for wii controls.
There's something wrong with you if you're sore the next morning after a rigorous 2 hours of Dragon Quest on the wii, not the game.
Not sure how first person will work on this though. Action RPG's tend to be really easy as they still focus on leveling up to be able to hurt your opponent over actual challenging gameplay(Recent Tales games and Kingdom Hearts).
But I mean, it's dragon quest. So I'll play it.

* Take on the challenges presented by all-new features for the North American release, including a "Payback Mode" and four hidden bosses!
Well, this is kinda competing for my second Wii game after Unlimited Adventure now. But everyone is telling me to get Super Mario Galaxy despite me not being crazy for Mario.
Tho I'll wait to hear some more feedback on the game before I make a decision.
Sorry for the bumping double post.
Seeing X-Play's review reminded me of this. They gave it a two out of five due to the same reasons past people have gotten on, the controls. The graphics are nice, but the controls are just poor. Apparently you just gotta swing the wiimote crazy not doing much else and you win.
There's also apparently only bout 10 hours of gameplay…and personally, that's too short for me to even bother with. If I had a Wii, I'd probably rent it tho.
Oh, and they made the goth lolita chick french. Very very french.
Well so much for this game :/ Do you have a link to the X-play impressions of the game?

I was looking forward to this game, but unfortunately it doesn't even get the classic controls right :/
The EGM review of the game, same complaints:
