A new series in Jump made by some former apprentice of the mangaka of Hitman Reborn.
Muddy is about..
A Dirty farm boy who wants to follow the steps of a Legendary Farmer by mastering the powers of his Jack Bean, one of the many beans that grant strange powers after people eats them and a plant (apparently the source of the "power") grows in their stomaches (Don't ask me why they don't poop the stupid plant. I didn't made the manga to start with). In his way Muddy will have to survive the forces of the Four Season Maidens and the Holy Feudal Lords (Why they keep sticking HOLY to most things? Oh, and funny enough, they are the only "farmers" that are allowed to have their own lands) that make impossible for most farmers to achieve the goal of becoming the greatest farmer known in history.
The first chapter is quite complex despite it's silly atmosphere, and so, it goes and goes untill you find out that Muddy isn't just a farmer but…
! MUDDY BY SHO AIMOTO:
! Another mangaka with the original idea of naming a series after the main character, in this case, Muddy's main character is Muddy the Mudman, a little kid who is actually a chimera made of dirt. Muddy apparently has the ability to grow to Giant proportions if he eats a LOT of Dirt, but he seems pretty average for a kid in a shonen series.
! Well, the whole story is about the live and times of Muddy as he is raised by a doctor (Apparently a "Genius" who did shit after getting a job) who was fired from a chimera factory. The birth of Muddy was actually a mistake, pretty much a la PPG, but as the first chapter progresses, it seems that everyone who will meet Muddy will either want to befriend him or hunt him down due to his uniqueness. Of course, I hope that things change and that Humanoid Chimeras weren't something "new" to start with.
PS: Look for the raw and translations in manga-Helpers. To be honest, I don't see too much future into this one, perhaps another Gash Bell in terms of length.
