Read Title. On Toonami more and more people are enjoying the Funimation dub of One Piece. But Toonami is showing 1 episode every saturday. Talk about the Funi Dub Scheduling here. And will Toonami ever show 2 episodes a day like Naruto someday?
Why do you think funi One Piece shows 1 Episode on Toonami?
-
-
maybe they only….dub them one at a time?
-
Slots CN allows them. They have a crapload dubbed.
-

Nope. Funi is already finished with G8.
-
@Lobster:

WOW  Their farther ahead than I thought. I wanna see it.
-
It's all in CN's hands. They're the ones to decide what slots a show gets.
-
True. But Naruto is going to die out because of the filler arc getting closer and closer. I guess that when it happens One Piece can get more episodes. What do you guys think?
-
Well, the 4Kids episodes were airing two at a time for a long while.
-
That was before Naruto came along. But with the ratings increasing, I don't have many doubts we'll get a 2 episode per week release eventually. I don't know when, tho.

That was when Naruto was really interesting. When Naruto gets to the Filler Arc it will start to put people to sleep.
This is a good question. Read the poll.
-
I am tempted to click the 3rd option, just for the heck of it… but that would be mean and untrue. I am temped to click the 1st option because I want it to happen. But CN is lame, so the 2nd option is more likely.
I refuse to vote D=
-
I doubt the Naruto fillers will end up cancaling the show.
-

We don't know that. Last we heard they were up to episode 174. CN simply ordered up till the end of G8 in terms of episodes to broadcast, there's no saying they've dubbed up till that point yet.
-
they might skip filler eps to ge to shippuden. it did say it would be out in08
-
Maybe DBZ will get cancelled (honestly people, it's been on for the past 8-ish years), or whatevers on before Naruto will bite the dust. Then more time for One Piece which CN will soon realize has become much more popular
-
Cartoon Network never ends their reruns.
heck,at least theire not like RTL II,who dubed the Rainbow Mist Arc till the half (right before Whetton apeared), quit it, started the WHOLE series from episode 1,when Alabasta ended it didnt even GET to Rainbow Mist, waited a year, then restared AGAIN.
Plus, even if they have new eps, so far that they CANT start over,it stil gets boring, I mean, they stalled with G8 till last year and played the SH'S fights against Enel 3 times in a row, then canceled the show.
you at least get SOME fluency.
-
i actualy ENJOY NARUTO and i love the fact that they show last weeks episode(but id love it more if theyshowed two new episodes a week)but if they got rid of dumb goosebumps they could show an hour of naruto(7:00 pm-8:00pm)and an hour of one piece(8:00pm-9:00) and then show an hour of DBZ now how kool would that be?
-
They ripped half of Toonami off so we could watch the Haunted Mask every other week and a bunch of other lame Goosebumps episodes that got old since Halloween ended. CN is officially out of whack.
-
That's a good point. Why the hell is goosebumps still on??
-
I doubt the Naruto fillers will end up cancaling the show.
I dont mean they will cancel the show. It will be a miracle to do THAT.
-
I doubt the fillers will do any damage to the show…
-
@Ethereal:

'Cause it gets better ratings with the 9-14 year-old crowd than reruns of "Polemon", "Yu-Gi-Oh GX", and "Teen Titans", god forbid Cartoon Network actually get some new Toonami content for that time slot. Go figure.
-
….I guess ratings is all that matters these days...
-
@RPG:

Where do they say that? I was actually looking for that and they said it was a myth.
-

I was once a Naruto fan and I was almost got completely bored of Naruto because of the filler arc. Some of them are completely stupid and crazy.
-
Y'know…I think Goosebumps' airing may be Cartoon Network's equivalent of Adult Swim's airings of Boo Boo Runs Wild.
-
 Why is many people saying no. (Even though its really close) Can we at least hear some reasons why you chose that?
-
I'd rather it not.
Because once Toonami is out of new episodes, BACK TO 4KIDS WITH RERUNS.
And we wouldn't want that.
If anything, I'd rather Naruto be bumped to ONE episode a week. Those fuckers don't deserve special treatment. Let them suffer the same fate those who saw the Japanese version did. >_> Leave OP and Naruto at one episode a week and bring in some new or older shows into the lineup. I'd really like to see Megas again without having to use Jetstream.

But. Funi One piece alrady has alot dubbed. Am I wrong?
-
And?
If two episodes were aired every week, we'd breeze through them like nothing. o_O
If we count Jaya, Skypiea and G8, that's a total of 63 episodes. So far, we've had 11 episodes air in a time span of nearly four months. Let's say they started airing two episodes a week starting next week. We would be done with G8 on June 14, 2008. And that's not counting if there's any holiday breaks in the schedule. With 1 episode a week, we'd be done on the second week of December of next year.
While that sounds like a hell of a long time, it DOES give FUNi more time to start dubbing the next arcs as well as release DVDs and possibly acquire the widescreen versions of the later episodes.
-
I think they will put more than one episode eventually, but they gotta test OP's popularity with funimation's dub in the long run.
Because, we all know how good OP is, but those who saw 4kids crap thinks of OP differently, so give it time. -
Where do they say that? I was actually looking for that and they said it was a myth.
I didn't pay much attention at the Viz panel at NYAF, but I think they said they were doing that.
-

Do we actually know the ratings are increasing? It seems like a lot of people here are pretty optimistic. We have to remember that One Piece DID have fans while it was dubbed by 4Kids, don't you think that when they see the Funi dub of One Piece there may be some… well I think we all remember the "4kids for One Piece" Petition.

FUNi said the ratings have been increasing slowly, but steadily.
Of course, it could be PR mumbo jumbo, but that's what we're going by.
-
Why don't we know the exact Funi episode ratings? Are they hiding them, or something? o_o
-
If only Goosebumps were as popular as CN think it is. They're freaking old, show your all day special and then be done with it.
-

It gets the ratings… So they don't think. They know.
-
You get aired more than once based on ratings on Toonami. Naruto gets two episodes cause it's popular.
P.S. What's with the "Filler is gonna kill Naruto's fan base" stuff? If people have been watching the Naruto anime so far I doubt a few hundread episodes of filler is gonna change a thing.
-
a few HUNDRED episodes of crapy, useles and uninteresting "storylines" wont change a thing?Especialy if alot of tv people dont KNOW their not the authors creation?(I once believed the same with OP….....LOOOOOOONG time ago).
-
How bad are these fillers? I know of a lot of people at my school who only like Naruto for the violence, so if theres over 100 episodes of boring shit I could actually see that having a small effect on the ratings. A very small effect.
-
The only good Naruto filler (during the 1-2 year filler season), is when Sasuke, Kabuto, and Lord Orochimaru go out to the grocery store to get some snacks.
Bonding time FTW!!~
-
I read summaries,I detest even canon Naruto.
I take the authors Brothers work, any day of the weak.

That sounds like something that would happen in one of the fillers.

And just who is Kishimoto's brother?
-
Kishimoto. The guy who did 666 Satan.

Your Genious Never ceases to amaze me Tsukento. But I still want to eventually have more episodes showing. I want to at least see Enies Lobby a bit faster.

If anyone needs to hurry their ass up, it's Viz.
I mean, Jesus Christ. Naruto is now coming up to the 2nd half in the manga's graphic novel lineup, while One Piece JUST finished the Drum Kingdom arc in Shonen Jump.
We haven't even gotten to Alabasta yet. HURRY THE HELL UP, VIZ! TAKE ONE PIECE OUTTA SHONEN JUMP AND JUST RELEASE THE BOOKS MORE OFTEN! >:|
-
Luffy, "Hey Nefeltali!! I'm woth Ten HundredBilLion berries, so I can CLobber Himz easY!!"
^Viz at their best (an actual quote)With their current track record, I'm guessing that we'll get "Portgaz D. Trace" for certain. So don't put too much faith in them.
Funimation is the only player in the One Piece game that doesn't suck.
Everyone else (CN, Tonnami, Viz, Jump, and Toei) seem to want One Piece to fail. -
Toei makes the japanese anime. They don't completely suck.

Well, I was referring more to their "big bad list", and some of the screwed up directing choices they have been doing with the anime as of late.
But they can easily redeem themselves again if they wish to.
