I thought based on his ending speech in the last chapter that his plan was to weaken Moria and then have his crew finish the job once he was exhausted and chibi…

Dunno anymore, it'd seem a little odd for Moria not to take one last revenge against the Strawhats and just let them fry. I mean, if he were to order the shadows back, he'd be saving them.

Doesn't really suit his style.

Why would he need to order them when they are free? Brooks shadow returned after Zoro beat up Ryuuma. I'm assumeing the ordering part is only needed to seperate the shadows from the dead bodies.

On another note, it looks like this is Luffy's second Schibukai. Maybe Kuma will have some words for him next week. Next 2 or three chapters should be the victory party with the Rolling Pirates, Brook offially joins, and maybe...just maybe...Lola marries Absalom. I hope she gets some sort of happiness before we leave her.

I just wished that Moria would lose in a better way, he never even layed a hand on Luffy and ultimately(probably) lost because he was arrogant.

Although… the chapter was a bit of a let down... or maybe that annoying watermark just got in the way too much. Can anyone tell me how the tower fell down? And at the exact right moment to give Moria such a bad case of shadow reflux?

Also, when Luffy squeezed some shadows out of him earlier, Moria merely turned them into shadow bats which then attacked luffy. So, it seems that if he retains enough mental stamina to keep them under control, Luffy et al will die of immolation next chapter. All Moria has to do is retain consciousness for ten more seconds and he wins the battle. Uhm...

Well, since Lola's been "smoking" for a few minutes now and hasn't started screaming, it's probably safe to assume that Robin, Sanji and Zoro won't suffer any major damage to their faces if they can get their shadows back within a minute or two. It's possible that the shadows will be released immediately by Moria and are on their way now to their respective owners, or it could be that Moria has devised one more jab at Luffy which Luffy will have to overcome to get the shadows back. If that's the case, I'm expecting (wishing even) Nami to create some fog or clouds to cover the crew until then. And if that doesn't happen, I'd be surprised if Sanji didn't do something chivalrous to block Robin from the sun (for instance, covering her face with his jacket or standing in front of her.

Great art in this chapter, and Moria's shadow-barfing scenes reminded me of No-Face's frog-and-snail barfing scenes in "Spirited Away" – but in a good way.

Good observation, bogia. I think Moria could still maintain enough control over the thrown up shadows to keep the from going back to their original bodies. They seem to be just rising into the sky on the last page, whereas Nightmare Luffy's shadows flew away in every direction, going right back to their masters.

The difference is that Ryuuma was completely purified at the time, so Moria holds no control over that shadow at that point, so of course it'd go straight back to Brooke, same applies to Tararan.

Obviously Moria isn't purified, he could still have a certain degree of control over the shadows, so I don't think the same rules apply to him. (I think I've said this before)
