I think his biggest change was he went from brown overalls in the original game, to red overalls.

I figured that's what you meant but when I heard the brown overalls the only thing that came to mind was his grey shirt/brown overalls and hat from SSMB.
Crash Bandicoot.Crash of the titans killed it of.
I think we can all agree that Crash jumped after Warp.
Except the gameplay isn't anything like the Pogeymanz, and unlike any other Rockman game, EXE actually has a plot.
The legends series had a plot.

uhm,no,we cant .
Much as I loved Battle Network (and to a lesser extent) Star Force, they didn't really have much more plot than the other Megaman games.
Even the ones generally considered to be the best plot-wise essentially boiled down to VILLAIN A IS COLLECTING MAGICAL ITEMS B THROUGH F TO UNLOCK MONSTER G AND CARRY OUT EVIL PLAN H with a couple character centric side trips stuck in.

Still more than "Wily = Bad guy. Go through these 8 robot master levels for no reason and kill the boss and steal its shit."
Still more than "Wily = Bad guy. Go through these 8 robot master levels for no reason and kill the boss and steal its shit."
That applies to just about every Megaman game outside the original series.
The actions maybe, but not the story. EXE usually did a little more than that.
Umm, not really. Most of the games besides Legends actually do still follow that formula gameplay-wise.
Whether it's actually good or not is a completely different story, but pretty much every game since X4 has had something more to the plot than just "Run around fighting 8 wacky bosses".

Seriously I love how people ignore the legends series. I mean when did the legends series EVER follow the same formula the original and X series did?
I have to ask. Do people just ignore legends as being part of the franchise or something? Cause it sure seems like it. Not saying you are but
I know I'm a bit late in mentioning it but that dig at Mega Man is funny.
Anyway
The Kunio Kun games JTS when they starting branching off into things like Dodgeball.
Final Fantasy X-2, haven't looked at a FF game the same ever since.
