One Piece at NYAnimeFest

I'm going to New York Anime Festival this upcoming weekend. I'll be attending both the Alabasta Movie premiere as well as the FUNimation industry panel.

At the Alabasta Movie, Justin Cook, Mike McFarland, Colleen Clinkenbeard and Sonny Strait will all be present. I'll be sure to come back with as much info as possible on the new cast of the Baroque Works numbers, and C-D if you don't mind me calling I can relay the info to you on that once the movie it over. I'll also see if I can find any info on Franky's now somewhat-confirmed voice.

Hopefully the FUNimation industry panel will have some good news as well. We've had talk about the uncut DVDs, and to my knowledge the first one coming out will contain the Skypeia episodes that they started with, as opposed to starting from the beginning as they had hoped to produce. Either case I would say there's a good chance we'll learn something regarding the DVDs soon.

Any of you guys in the NY-NJ area who plan on attending be sure to check out the screening and maybe we can meet up. EGX specifically, PM me your cel number or something.

Oh no no, I mean they're starting from the episodes THEY dubbed, so yes they're starting from Jaya (although they seem to be raking Jaya into the Skypeia Saga and counting as one thing, my guess is that the first DVD will have all of the accumulated Jaya episodes on it).

Robin uses two techniques, while Luffy uses Pistol.

Chances are they'll be the original names, seeing as some of Luffy's attacks look similar to one another thus being easy to change (is there even a friggen difference between Pistol, Bullet and Rifle? o_O;).

Hell, I very much doubt FUNi will torture Eric Vale to saying 4Kids Sanji's attack names.

Zoro original: I'm a bit disappointed in 60 million
Zoro dub: 60 million isn't bad.

Blackbeard original: I thought 30 million was low for a kid of that ambition
Blackbeard dub: I thought that kid was too bright eyed to be worth 30 million.~~

3. Ask why the scene in episode 150 with the Bellamy pirates celebrating in the bar was cut.

4. Is it possible to get an MP3 of the We Are sung at the end of 152?

As I mentioned in the other topic, the saying is worded differently, but the meaning is the same. Zoro's a little disappointed but is fine with it ("not too bad" is a sign of being fairly okay with something).

And regarding Blackbeard, his is just about the same as well. Worded differently, but the meaning is the same.

Just scream/…I mean ask nicely that Eric Vale sounds more "cheesy suave" with his Sanji voice. Tel him to sound less gruff american thug and more tough "peppy la Pyoo"(sp?). I think that's the point Charagon was trying to get across. Sanji should sound abit more hammy-suave than he does in the dub. Everyone else is fine.

Oh and ask Colleen to really open up and destroy her voice in the fight scenes...please? I wanna buy the dvds and hear her screaming PISTOL and GATLING GUN at the top her lungs like Tanaka-san does!:D

Me and a friend figured this out, I think:
Pistol-A punch to the face.
Bullet-A punch to the body.
That's the difference.

The difference IIRC is that with Pistol, Luffy stretches his arm forward so he can hit someone at a distance. With Bullet, he stretches his arm behind him and then brings it forward for a close-range punch.

you're both wrong, think of Alvida. That was not a punch to the face and it was pistol. Bullet was used on Don Kreig and it was to the face. He also stretch his arm way back both times.

Bullet is when he puts his full body strength in a punch. If that makes sense.
