@Lobster:
It just sounded like they got Dino Spamoni from Hey Arnold to sing it, without even knowing the lyrics.
How do you come up with this stuff!
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

@Lobster:
No, it's just the ending song. The episode was GREAT. It just sounded like they got Dino Spamoni from Hey Arnold to sing it, without knowing the lyrics.
GOD shut the crap! no one cares what you say we get it! quit whining no one whats to here ya .
[sarcasm]Yes, the show is ruined because they had to rush a song =([/sarcasm]
Seriously, everyones entitled to their own opinion but bawwing over a song that was rushed in the first place just makes me feel all lol-ly inside.
I for one couldn't care less for the song since it was my least favorite. But I did enjoy hearing it anyways.
[sarcasm]FUNi sucks! FUNi fails! They should stop dubbing the show immediatly![/sarcasm]
How was this episode boring at all
A giant geyser the size of Kansas shot a ship twelve miles into the sky. That's pretty exciting.

I should sig this.

I agree with you on that one. DARK CLOUDS AND GIANT WHIRLPOOLS!
As someone who's dealt with several of his favorite anime being ruined and hearing a lot of shitty takes on music for the series', I can honestly say that this "We Are" is absolutely fine for a rush job. I've heard a lot worse.
None of you guys will be hearing the same shity FUNi did with Dragon Ball Z/GT and all the various openings made for Z.
Thank you so much, Tsukento!
From what I could make out(and it's pretty easy to hear if you try real hard, actually), that was just great. I literally felt myself breaking out into a huge grin as I strained my ears to hear it. I'll tell ya, I'm a big We Are fan and sing it a lot, and that really impressed me. I love that opening so much, and I don't understand why any complaining at all has ensued. It was great. I can rest peacefully tonight knowing that the song sounds great.
Thank you, Funimation. Thank you.

FUNi should have played the music for the DBZ Opening instead of that horrible imitation of We Are!
JK thats going a bit too far. But seriously FUNi screwed up We Are!
Why did Funi say they had to rush, anyway?
But seriously FUNi screwed up We Are!
Tsukeno is going to pull a Sylar on you… or maybe a Kirby.
Which ever one is less messy.
And don't start shit on my YouTube account, either.
THAT MEANS YOU, LOBSTER! MR. FIRST POST!
@Lobster:
Why did Funi say they had to rush, anyway?
Probably because they knew that We Are! was gonna be horrible so they made up an excuse. We all know they did not have to rush.

Deadlines and rush to dub other episodes to send in to CN.

Are you an idiot? They announced they got the series in April this year and hadn't finished casting yet. They had A LOT of work to do between then and end of September to be sure that new episodes aired by the time 4Kids' dub finished its run on CN.
@Lobster:
Why did Funi say they had to rush, anyway?
They needed to get 61 episodes dubbed for CN. That's the reason!
Edit:Tsukento beat me to the punch.
Is the entire episode encoded or just that We Are clip?
Guys, let's just drop it. If they didn't like the version of "We Are" that's fine. It'll never pop up again anyway, and no amount of arguing will magically change their opinion.
Remember, "There's no accounting for taste."
@Animeforever'04:
NO ONE CARES SHUT UP!
It's obvious you care or you would not have told me to shut up.
That's not bad for a rush job. Jerry Jewel or whoever they got to sing it's tone is fairly close to the original. They need to rework the lyrics to make it flow better… and change "hunt" back into "cruise." Yeah, it's engrishy, but it's expected. English Hikari E wasn't rewritten to attempt to sound like a theme song so We Are shouldn't be either.
Have a feeling that the final version for the first episodes will be better. I think funi will take the hint from the epic wailing and adjust accordingly. I mean, for something recorded obviously quickly months ago, it's not bad. Still more accurate than the 4kids version, despite the rewrites.
@Ao:

just the episode from what i can see ask chibi i dunno sorry
It's not being used on the DVD's? Where was this established?
Well, I should have added a "most likely", but it was said that Mike McFarland stated that because of the deadlines at the time, they had to rush We Are, saying it was going to be a bit off, and that it most likely wouldn't be on the DVD's, but a better version instead.
-Zera
I liked FUNi's 'We Are!' in tonight's ep, but I'm not gonna lie. The 4Kids version is better, and it's quite possibly THE best thing to come from that horrid era (even if it didn't make it into the final dub)!
For the record, Tsukento, even though I agree with your thoughts about FUNi deciding to use the original soundtrack, instead of synthesized compositions a la DBZ, I happen to like 'Rock The Dragon' from the Saban era of DBZ. It's far superior to Bruce Faulconer's theme for the series. Honorable mention to Mark Menza's opening theme for the FUNi-dubbed DBZ movies, because it actually attempts to capture the same spirit of the Japanese music.
They already said it was a rush job and they were going to redub it for early episodes. Bitching about it for the next ten pages isn't going to change anything.

"Rock the Dragon" doesn't exist in my head.
And Mark Menza is HORRIBLE at making music. That GT opening was proof enough.
Dude, was I the only one that couldn't even hear the song? I can't even judge it, because I only heard about three words before the ending. "Luffy" and "Pirate King" are the only things I think I heard.
Other than that, decent episode. I like Nami's voice a lot.
I just watched the 2nd One Piece opening… Believe.
I hadn't seen it in ages... Anyway, my point is that when Funi airs that thing on TV, it will be the most epic thing... since ever.
They should really air some early stuff along side the new stuff.
Working on seeing if I can at least write up the lyrics. I was able to make out a bit of it, but trying to figure out the whole thing might take a bit.
Funimation are making dvds maybe We Are will get fix. To me the song was all right I not pickey.
This is all I'm seeing on the subject of the English We Are.
just the episode from what i can see ask chibi i dunno sorry
Huh? So the episode is up for download? I guess I'll check the first page of the forum…
Anyway, after watching that clip alone, I get the feeling Funi rushed through ALL these episodes. I mean I actually remember Sanji's "I love you Nami" delivery because it was unique and memorable but Vale's seemed like he wasn't even trying to sound passionate when he said it. It was supposed to be the verbal exclamation point on the scene when the ship takes flight but it didn't have any impact whatsoever in the english version.
Just like last week's episodes, I was hoping for great things and I get "tolerable" work from Funi's One Piece dub. It's weird to go back to this because after seeing the Unlimited Adventure clips I was really starting to like the dub cast and then to go back to this...
The episode isn't up for download. Just the "We Are" and Next Episode preview.

I never said anything about his craptastic GT music, just his theme song for the DBZ movies (which I do like).
Oh, and how can 'Rock The Dragon' not exist in your head when your brain obviously formulated the words and caused you to commit those words to text, hmm?
It was an ok episode.

Sh-shut up! :cwy:
It was an ok episode.
Yeah, after hearing it on youtube it was okay for a rushed version, the nest one they'll do will be better though.
It was a pretty good episode,The lines were delivered very nicely compared to the original,and "we are" was fairly good for a rushed version
…
Sh-shut up! :cwy:
We've got em' now!! >:D
Anyway, I'd say that…urm... Zoro had the best deliveries this episode. Fur sure'
I saw the YouTube vid, and I heard "Luffy" in the song…meh.
IMO, I enjoyed the episode, and I also thought the song was okay.

I have to admit, Vale sounded off at that part. But if UA is any indication, his Sanji will improve quite a bit in the coming episodes.
Good ep. Had me laughing quite a few times. %3
I'll admit to being a tad disappointed with the We Are song, but I didn't know beforehand that it was a rush-job. (I had been wondering about that, though, and that's what I was thinking as I heard the song.) If they're fixing it in the DVD release, though, then that's fine by me. No complaints. :3
…I'll admit to liking the 4Kids version of We Are, though. XD; Although it messed me up when the music for We Are came up in the episode, because half of my brain was trying to pick out the 4Kids lyrics, which weren't there. >>;

Certainly better than any episode they dubbed XD.
OK listen up guys, please be respectful towards each other's opinion. If someone doesn't like something, they have the right to say so, please don't call someone a troll and tell them to shut up just because you don't like what they're saying. On the other hand, please don't goad people by continuing to say things just to piss people off. If you contribute to any more hostility I will ban you from the thread.
They could have put some bg music there but they tried to give us "We Are". Lets just all agree that they are hearing us and trying to give us a good One Piece.
Ohh dang I almost forgot…
We're getting One Piece ending 10 soon (my least favorite)
Ahh well, were almost at ending 11 (A-Z) which is awesome~
EDIT: Episode... 156 (but what # is that in the English version?)
I was just voicing my opinion that the rushed We Are sucked, it didn't effect the episode at all for me. I just found the episode to be quite boring even in the original.
@Lobster:

We're all going by Japanese number order, so we just saw episode 152. So three and a half episodes to go.
Why half? Cause the end of 156 counts for that half.

Here it is, YouTubers.
Bows to Tsukento
Thank you
thats the only scene I wanted to see.
My Opinion:beautiful..simply perfect
Who sang though? the voice was great and sounded like the original.
the lyrics were great too
If my numbering is correct, 156 will also be the last episode on the first DVD set. XD (Counting 13 episodes.)
