It's not exactly beutiful but compared to the PSP and GBA, it looks pretty good, as far as handhelds go.
And the better features are in Nintendo's hands. They could have had the better screens either to begin with, or just added them in. Point is, the brighter screens are the equivalent of the 360's HDMI port. Should have been there, wasn't, was added later, screwed over people who bought it first.
And mine looks better than anyone else's. It has an awesome Sonic the Hedgehog skin So it's definitely better looking than the standard silver one.
Anyways, I think the Lite is a load of crap. I probably wouldn't mind, but I'm not spending more money to buy a DS Lite. I WILL if they call it the DS instead of the DS Lite. Yes, it's smaller. It's lighter. But Lite shouldn't be the name of the type, not the name of the handheld altogether. It makes me feel like Nitnendo decided to stop support of the original.
I, for one, will not be upgrading. I will never refer to any DS as a DS Lite, and I will find a way, no matter what I need to do, to get DS Lite only products to work on my normal DS.
People always cry about how expensive it is and they can't afford 2 consoles, just one, and thus have to pick and choose which they want. Yet they walk around with 2 DS' and a PSP.
The original design is superior, and the screens and features should have been there in the first place, not as an afterthought.
Oh, ahem that sucks. Everything is basically Contra 1, right? Would make sense to leave it in.
