Talk about which chapters, scenes, or characters got you hooked to different manga and anime.
Naruto: For the first few episodes, I thought "Meh, this is boring." The Wave Country arc is what got me interested. Sadly, there'll probably never be another villain in the series like Zabuza.
Hunter x Hunter: The Hunter Exam and all the tests Gon and Co. had to go through were the most entertaining. The different situations Togashi put them in was a great way to start the series off.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: During the battle with Buford and Tarkus from Part 1.
Hajime no Ippo: Not exactly sure when I started really liking it, but probably after the Rookie Tournament arc.
One Piece: Episode 24. When Mihawk showed up and started owning Krieg's ships, then proceeded to make Zoro look like a bitch.
One Piece: Luffy nailing Krieg even though he had that spiked cape up.
HunterXHunter: I really like the Hunter Exam, all these really nicely designed people with equally diverse tasks.
D. Gray-Man: The first time Allen used Cross Grave to blow up everything in sight.
Reborn!: When Hayato smoked a dozen cigarettes at once to light all of those sticks of dynamite.
One piece: When Nami asks Luffy`s help, after wich Luffy and crew attack Arlong park and kick some fishman ass.
Fairy tail: When Natsu is revealed to be a mage of Fairy tail and proceeds to demolish an entire ship.
Rurouni Kenshin: Kenshin and co. vs. the oniwabanshu
Bleach: Soul society arc. Still one of the best arcs in any manga.
FMA: Not really sure. Probably during the Greed arc.
D. Gray-man: When Allen confronts the Earl for the first time.
One Piece - Arlong Arc. Pretty much around the climax with the walk to Arlong Park and such.
Hunter X Hunter - Hisoka's fights in the Battle Tower and the introduction of nen. I didn't really care for the Hunter Exam too much.
D. Gray-man - Tough one, but I'd say around the time of the Krory arc and Tyki's introduction.
Bleach - Pretty much when Renji and Byakuya first showed up.
Strung out in heaven's high, hitting an all-time low.
One Piece: Right away, it came dramatically to the rescue as the next chapter after the shitty Yugioh ones in Shonen Jump Usa #3. Buggy arc almost derailed me.
Current status: Going steady.
Naruto: I thought it was too tudesy at first, too punk teenagerish. But it won me over as soon as the first life death situation took place. Than I saw a real breathing ninja world rather than just Ninja-school.
Current status: Fucking deceased. Series lost titanic loads of art,plot,character points with every new storyline after the Chunnin exams.
Bleach: Loved the sketchy art and character interaction going on in the first 5 books. Right away I liked it.
Current Status: And almost immediatly I lost all interest when it became a shonen cliche festival right after those first 5 books.
Berserk: I was hooked at volume 5 when the series started to shape up and show it really really wasn't "GRRR KILL DEMON GRRR" at all.
Current Status: Going steady.
Vagabond: I was hooked with Musashi's conflict with that young monk guy. Book 7 to be exact. After that it did the opposite of Naruto and got titanic amounts better with every new storyline. By Vol.21 it was up there in Akira territory quality.
Current Status: High interest.
HunterXHunter: The image of Gon on the first book put me off for awhile thinking that it was Togashi's take on youthful peppy fun shonen. Upon actually reading it I realized it was more twisted and more adult than 75% shonen and was much more creative for that matter.
Current Status: High interest.
One Piece: Kuro arc. I had seen a bit of it here and there before then, but the Kuro arc was the first one I really liked and actually got me seriously interested in following it.
Kekkaishi: Liked it almost as soon as I started reading it, but it wasn't until the Kokubourou arc started and some great characters like Heisuke and Kaguro showed up that I really started getting hooked. Now one of my favorite series.

JJBA - Murder Row, Johnathon vs. the Thugs
Flame of Recca - not sure exactally where but it 'clicked' and I couldn't stop reading
JoJo- I was interested from the start, but Zeppeli was what really got me
One Piece- Liked it from the start. Buggy was when I started to really like it, though
Naruto- When I saw Lee vs. Gaara. After that I decided to start from the beginning. Now it's… eck.
G Gundam- Master Asia's introduction. Destroying those robots on foot. Yes.

One Piece: From the start, pretty much. Roughly around when Luffy came out of the barrel, and I immediately thought "Luffy is awesome!" I decided it was the best anime ever mid-Arlong arc.
Naruto: Episode 19, which is the conclusion of the Zabuza arc. I thought it was a great ending to the arc. That was when it went to my #1 spot. (Though it got replaced by One Piece several months later)
I'm into other series, but I can't remember when I got interested in those others…
One Piece - Well, thought it was retarded (kinda still is) at first. Got around to the Barartie arc then I started respecting it. Finished the Arabasta Arc and became a fan for life. Not reading it much these days tho (not at all in fact), I as a whole have become bored and dissillusioned with the series.
Naruto - I guess I liked it from the beginning. Of the current 3, it had the best beggining by far. The rest of the series after is highly debatable since I only think the Sasuke Returns arc is bad (current arc kinda sucks too), but don't wanna get into all that.
Hunter X Hunter - Meh to me at first, but once the Ryodan Arc started. I think it was the scene where Franklin killed all those people at the action and that's when I got sucked in hard and it never let go. Got to the Chimera arc and decided that I need no other manga to satisfy me.
Hokuto no Ken - Can't say I was hooked persay, but Souther's awesomeness and just everything about Raoh was just something I couldn't ignore. Real underrated series (even tho I haven't seen a whole lot of it)
Yu Yu Hakusho: Dark Tournament is the obvious pick here. Really nice fights there
Hokuto No Ken- I mostly got into it via gameplay clips of the SegaSammy fighter, but I guess it was Ken vs. Shin, as well as fights like Ken vs. Jagi and Rei vs. Raoh that got me really into it.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: I started reading it after hearing alot about it, but when Jonathan kicked Vampire Dio's ass the first time, in the mansion is what got me hooked. The fight against Bruford only furthered by hookness.
One Piece: When Crocodile finally got his ass kicked.
Bleach: Kenpachi v. Ichigo
Naruto: Shikamaru's fight in the Chunin exams against Temari.
Death Note: When Light finds out Ray Penberg's name.
The first chapter of One Piece I ever read was the Gaimon one. Loved it right away, ufu. I started reading online scans starting Baratie, though (what a sad existence orz).
Oh yeah, I remembered my moment for Bleach (though I liked it from the beginning):

One Piece: After Chapter 100, Dragon's introduction.
Naruto: Sasuke VS Rock Lee's where I got hooked to it. But now…meh.
Mahou Sensei Negima: Volume 6 of the manga where the real deal fighting began. Still following it, the current arc's going good.
Bleach: I'll say v5 for the most part though after that, it went just, I dont know...

D Gray Man (Manga): The Earl's debut, and you can say on some part, Krory's main arc.
Nagasarete Airantou (Manga): I'd say v1 to 4...But mostly after Kunai's appearance. Still following it in v11.
DBZ: The Frieza saga back when I watched the Tagalog dub in the Philippines.
One Piece - Luffy "vs" Bellamy in the anime. And OP6, BRAND NEW WORLD. One Piece was just a casual watch for me at the time, but then I went back and really got into it after seeing some of the stuff the future had in store. The march to Arlong Park really got me totally hooked. I wasn't a big fan of pre Grand Line OP, but Arlong Park was a great arc.
Fairy Tail - Natsu vs Shinigami Elgor
Naruto - Rock Lee vs Gaara
Bleach - Ichigo and Ishida killing the Menos Grande, if only they knew they'd be cutting those things in half like it's nothing now.
Eyeshield - Hiruma. Best manga character ever. The Shinryuuji match pretty much sealed it though. I never felt such an achievement then when Yukimitsu scored that touchdown. Such a freaking win moment. I watched the anime at first, and stopped after dragging through the filler. Never even made it past the Amino match. Recently I read the manga, and Eyeshield is really one of my favorite, if not favorite series now. Hell, I even started watching football on TV, though it's not as exciting as the manga games, lol.
D. Gray Man - Tyki Mikk's design. What a bamf, but he does it in style.
Hunter x Hunter - The Ryodan.
Reborn! - Lambo.
DBZ - Dragonball. I didn't really like Dragon Ball Z until Dragon Ball started airing. Best show ever.

Meh. I didn't really start liking TTGL until episode 15 with the Lord Genome battle and his warning about the future. I thought the entire second half was better than the first half, though.

But then again, my only animu experience before then was Sailor Moon, so that much action just about made me shit myself.
Bleach - When I first saw the cover, the art alone just got me intrested. Too bad the quality of the art isn't the same as the quality of the series…

One Piece: Long story short, when I saw a few episodes of the 4Kids version, and then checked out the Viz manga a little later on.
Bleach: Shortly after the first volume of the manga, about one year before the anime aired in America.
Naruto: See Bleach.
Death Note: A friend got me interested in it. Was hooked after finishing Volume 1.
Fullmetal Alchemist: First episode I saw was fifteen. Kept watching, got hooked soon after. Alos started buying the manga.
Yu Yu Hakusho: Back when it came on Toonami, I managed to catch episode three. Liked it, and started watching it.

Buso Renkin: Heard Watsuki made it. Decided on picking up the first volume, and liked it.
Reborn!- I really liked the comedy, but I think the action got me when Gokudera freed Hibari from his cell in Kokuyo, and he proceeded to go to town on the two goons and Mukuro.
Giant Robo - I was hooked starting with the first scene of the first episode all those years ago.
Naruto - Zabuza arc (when Toriyama's World was scanlating the manga) - I stopped following the series for awhile (I simply forgot to download the chapters after the Zabuza arc) until I read about Rock Lee on a website, and I decided to catch up.
Buso Renkin - Captain Bravo and Moonface interested me, so I recently started reading it. I think it's pretty good so far. I'm also a Watsuki fan.
One Piece - I liked it from the start, but I really liked the Kuro arc.
DBZ - Saiyan saga when I was a kid, early in the mornings (on a local channel I think). The deaths of Yamcha, Chaozu, and Tenshinhan.

I got hooked on Giant Robo when I saw the intro to Episode 2 (with Alberto fighting Taisou, followed by Youshi and Issei attacking Alberto) on Youtube. I think I bought the box set a few days later.
And Kenshin… probably the Oniwa Banshuu arc, though Jin'e was pretty awesome as well.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Capcom fighting game for Part III was coming out, and I got interested. I found a VHS fansub of the OVA series (the original one - the prequel series hadn't been released yet) at the comic shop. It started with the D'arby battle.
Eyeshield 21: When the Devilbats went against the White Knights for the first time.
Dragonball Z: I was just a casual view of the series before. What really got me into the show was watching "Dead Zone" for the first time.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn!: The name alone convinced me that this series would end up being some action-packed mafia manga pumped up with shonen staples. I was surprised to find out how wrong I was. The random humor is hilarious (One of my favorite chapters is where Tsuna thinks he murdered some guy(, but I was hooked at the first chapter after seeing Tsuna take the Dying Will bullet to the head. It was a bit disappointing that the series went the way of Dragonball by switching from comedy to action, but I'm still reading and enjoying it all the same.
One Piece: I read Zoro vs. Cabji in an early issue of the US Jump and really liked it, so I bought the graphic novels and ait took off from there.
Jojo: The whole scene with Dio becoming a vampire.
Giant Robo: The train chase at the beginning of the first episode.
Eyeshield 21: No real specific scene; I bought the first volume after hearing good things about it (I was skeptical at first), liked it, and kept on reading.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: The pig run in the first episode made me want to keep watching, the "gattai" scene in episode 3 and later the entirety of episode 8 made me a real fan.

ES21- seeing them recruit new players, basically, since I was kind of bored with the random small gaggle of guys they had. I think the scene between the Ha-Ha Bros. and Banba in the cafe, along with the first "Delinquent Deathblow" was what really made me want to continue following it.
I don't really follow it anymore. The Shinryuuji game was really too disappointing and lasted way too long, so it kind of made me lose incentive to continue.
Beck - I liked it from the beginning, and Chiba was awesome too.
Bleach - Chad
Death Note - Someone on a forum recommended it to me, and i picked it up at a Borders and loved it

FMA - I liked the anime from the beginning. I've collected 4 volumes about the manga, but stoped because it was too expensive
Gintama - the anime mainly got me hooked. Especially when I saw Elizabeth in the first episode.
Hunter x Hunter - I thought the idea of the Hunter Exam was good. I really got hooked when Kilua ripped that guys heart out
Naruto - it was really great back in the day. Now it just sucks really bad.
One Piece - I stole a Shonen Jump magazine from a girl I used to pick on for liking anime. I read it, and the first thing I saw was Luffy and Buggy fighting. I was instantly hooked.
Reborn - the Mukuro arc and Vongola Ring arc. I think the only reason I kept reading the Daily Life arc was for Lambo and Reborn and I-Pin.
Sexy Voice and Robo - the idea of phone dating operator and geek amateur detectives was awesome and I loved the manga, even though it still goes unfinished.
TTGL - honestly, AP was the reason I watched this anime. Glad I did.
The Law of Ueki - basically took an extremely useless power and made it awesome
Yakitate Japan - the idea of bread baking and anime was awesome. Episode 1 bored me, but I gave episode 2 a chacne and liked it A LOT.
One Piece - Seeing Zoro destroy Captain Morgan in one blow. I was awed by it, and I think of that scene as Oda's earliest sign of great climatic endings. Yup, I was hooked before the end of the first volume.
Naruto - Like many people, the introduction of Zabuza nailed my balls to the wall and made me like it. He was such a perfect villian. But it was the tearful end of bot him and Haku that really got me.
Bleach - The introduction of Chad. I think he's such a great and underused character. I followed the series because of him and grew to like it, though now it's not as super as it was before.
Neon Genesis Evangelion - The mystery and intrigue introduced in episode one, as well as the many christian references. I liked how it didn't try to make all its characters super big "badasses". Instead, it portrayed them as problemtatic wrecks; an intersting choice in my opinion.
Keroro Gunso - The design of the characters is what first caught my eye. The opening to the anime was next. Third to bat was the many anime and manga references. Fourth and final place was Giroro.
Tengen Toppa Gurrenn Lagann - This is not something I say very often, but it was the action scenes that made me love it immensily. Though it did get some love from the wonderful charm it had from the beginning of the first episode and the great animation early on.
Shaman King - I was intruged by shamans when I first read the series, did a bit of research on them, found a few similar beliefs in shamanism, and decided to give SK more attention. The general pacing of the story is good too.
Paranoia Agent - The reason is very simple. I love psychological thrillers.
Tenchi Muyo! - The first episode I saw was episode three of the first ova. There was some charm to it that I enjoyed so I decided to keep watching. I fell in love with almost all the characters, who kept me coming back for more.
Anything by Osamu Tezuka - I had always read about him and his works (mostly just about Astro Boy, Black Jack, and Adolf) in books and magazines, but it wasn't until Viz released Phoenix volume 2 (they brought it out before volume 1) that I got hooked. Before that, I had only read a volume of Black Jack in a bookstore (but I did like that too). But Phoenix volume 2 (Future) is what did it for me.

Tenchi Muyo: The first episode I saw was the one with Tsunami I think (Probably my least favorite) but still became my favorite anime/ manga ever. Though I think listening to Kagato's organ piece was the highest point of kick ass.
FMA: Armstrong's sister. That episode. Blew me away.
Speed Racer: Just listening to the intro.
G Gundam: Episode one. I watched it on vacation. I think this is the only cartoon, save possibly Bambi as a kid, that I ever teared up in. Fucking Master Asia's Death Man! He kicked ass!
Pokemon: That promotional 4kids video.
Yu-Gi-Oh: Episode One. Really it was from the cards.
DBZ: At first I hated DBZ because it took Tenchi Muyo's timeslot. All my friends watched it. Then I saw the episode with Cell in Ginger Town and him sucking up the man's life.

Digimon: Devilmon I think, but Myotismon was the kicker. I loved that part so much. And, of course Etemon.
Bobobobobobo: Episode one. His voice. His Etemon kick ass voice.
Giant Robo- It was awhile back when I was on the board and someone had a sig of Chief Chujo and I only saw the op before and I really liked the retro style of it and bulky robots, so after seeing Chujo I thought his design was cool and it looked like he was calling a robot of his own. (My first impression was that everyone had a robot or something.) It was ep. 2 op that really made a good impression on me.
One Piece - I was intrigued and I found this site hosting ch. and I just read the chapters with Luffy vs. Crocodile and I thought it was bizarre and wacky. (It had a picture of Afro Luffy on the site and I thought, " That's a cool character design!!" and I just read hoping to reach The Davy Back Fight.)
Gash Bell- I only saw the dub at first and I was bored and I thoght it was a lame anime, but I was intrigued by Raiku style and his designs (especially Teds.)
TTGL- The promo art looked cool and I thought it was a bit different (Simon would be able to talk with Gurren or Lagann forgot what the head was named.) I was alittle bored with episode 1 and 2 (It was probably cause people over-hyped it.) 3 was what got me into it then 8 hooked me for sure and I waiting to see the Spiral King in action.
(His Design was the best.)
Naruto- I had a COMPLETELY diff. view on it. (Like they were alot older then 12 and it focused on different characters not just only Naruto. Kakashi looked kinda cool.)
I didn't read until a few years later though.
DBZ - It was right around the Saiyans arc and what more can I say. ( The "you smell like toenails!" line from Gohan would always get me.)
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure- I came across Veggie's page but I didn't know how to download and what not so I was waiting until I could find a place where I could read it. (Happened two years later.)
YuYu Hakusho- I thought it had a cool style and characters. (The Rando and Saint Beasts arc was always my fav.)
HxH- Done by Togashi.
Rurouni Kenshin- It was the first episode, back when it was shown in Toonami. I always thought Henya looked cool and Sannosuke* with his giant blade. I thought it was completely different as well. ( For some reason it reminded me of King Of Fighters.)
FMA- I was reading Toriyama's world scanlations and I liked the style alot for some reason and I used to think she had some kind of american influence sometimes.( I don't know why.)
Cowa! and Kajika- Done by Akira Toriyama.
Trigun- Seeing Vash in that red suit. Thought it looked pretty cool.
OutLaw Star- When Gene was fighting one of El Dorado brothers. I think the older one.
Cowboy Bebop- I saw the first episode and I thought the scene with Spike and Vincent* fighting looked cool. (At first I thought Spike and Hakim* or w.e that guy's name was were partners because of the promos.)
Lupin III- I saw the first episode and I thought the style was cool and real old school.
Hitman Reborn- Years back I saw scans of it in italian with Tsuna in dying will mode and I thought it looked cool but I didn't what it was until like 2 years later when I just randomly downloaded a title.
Mobile Suit Gundam- I saw the promos on toonami and it just looked cool but I would see it rarely because when I got out of school.
G Gundam- I saw the promo on Toonami and the ref guy seemed cool and I was wondering, "whens he popping out." Then Domon's scene where he catches all the bullets with his hand and the King Of Hearts appeared on his hand looked cool.
Kinnikuman*- I thought it was hilarious with Mantaro vs. Suguru.
Law Of Ueki- I was actually bored with the first few episodes until Robert's Ten appeared and I just though, " Ueki is ****** crazy!" I thought the fight with Ueki vs. Robert was the highlight of the manga, then I saw God vs. Margeret* and God was always a cool character.
Tenchi Muyo- I saw the first episode. FUNNY STUFF.
Slayers- Saw subs of it on tv. I thought some of the episodes were silly. Never finished Slayer's next.
Rounin Warriors- Saw it on channel 9 I think? and then Toonami and I was like, "This is cool."
Pokemon- Saw it channel 13, and it was around when pikachu started shocking team rocket.

One Piece- Don't remember when, but really changed my values in manga.
Hunter x Hunter - Probably York Shin where the suspense really grasped me. I liked Hunter Exam too though.
Reborn - alot of the humor. The action really grasped me when Gokudera beat the yo yo kokuyo kid(His dynamite did physical damage, instead of just blackening characters . Even moreso when Lancia went ape on Tsuna.

I had a Chujo signature awhile back.
Although I know that later on, Taleran also used either a Chujo avatar or signature.
For GR, the opening scene on the train caught my eye, and I paid attention, once episode 2 started and that music kicked in, I couldn't stop watching
AKIRA - wasn't a moment but the sheer level of detail in every page, that just screamed quality

Reborn!: I was hooked from the beginning but the second opening made me catch up through RAWS. (KEFI was only at the end of the sun battle at the time) It was a painful experience.
One Piece: First chapter I read was Gaimon's Adventure. I really liked the different style and proceeded to read more and more.
TTGL: /a/ and it's constant posting of Viral made me watch this and I don't regret it at all.
Death Note: Had a really interesting concept. Too bad it fell flat during the middle.
