Is the Adam and Eve one something to do with that they were the only ones wearing clothes and not fig leaves because uhh… they became "body-conscious" as a punishment? I'm not religious so I don't know the story but I hope you know what I mean, eheh.

Nope. thats not it indigo. (i think that Adam and Eve are suppose to pass on that particular treat to their offspring as well.)
Everyone there are weareing the figleaves. The answer to this riddle is not mentioned in the bible afaik, but rather an assumption.audross: 1.No, He knew them by name. (I can reveal that it is indeed Adam and Eve)
2. why doesn't a cold or flue pass through the door?
3. =P thats not quite it. remember its a riddle. you might want to reread the whole post. -
I'm sorry to say I don't really know the answers to any of these…. However, I do remember one that had a ridiculous answer from several years ago.
You're in a room with no doors, windows, cracks, or any other visible way out. You can't force your way out, and have no way of contacting the outside. The only things with you in the room are a mirror and a piece of wood. How do you get out of the room?
The answer is a play on words, and I recall that NONE of us in a group of nearly 20 could get the answer to this.....
Take the wood and put it in front of the mirror. you saw what you saw, take the saw, cut the wood in half and put the halves together. Two halves make a whole, you leave through the hole.

Gorlom: Haha okay, worth a shot. Is the going from house to house one something like electrical wires/phone line?
-
nope. those goes inside as well… what stops at the door?
-
@ Gorlom, the drop a ball one.
If youre going to say it doesnt stop but instead falls through and into space, that is actually not true. what does happen if you ignore air resistance (hence ignoring terminal velocity) is that the ball will pop out the other side only to fall right back in, then continually go through forever and ever, hence never stopping…
if you're accounting for air resistance, the same thing will kinda happen, only it will go back and forth, eventually stopping at the center and being crushed by the massive pressure there.
Sorry, we're learning about the earth and it's composition in astronomy atm... (planetary science bit)
[end know-it-all rant]but since it's a riddle, I'm sure it's something ether much more clever or much more eloquently worded.

There is a pink house made of bricks, a blue house made of bricks, and an orange house made of bricks. Of which color bricks is a greenhouse made?
-
@dirt:

A greenhouse isn't made of bricks.
-
beutifuldreamer1289: I'm accounting for everything. don't worry about that… ^^
a greenhouse is usually made out of glass not bricks....
a green brick house is probably made with normal colour bricks that are painted green.
Edit: Bah jmbrj beat me too it.

Well, here's a guess. Since he never said where he dropped the iron ball, I guess it traveled all the way to the ground? :D
-
damnit! I did it again. =(
It's dropped into the hole, alright?
(the answer is even crappier then "all the way to the ground" though =P…)

@HannibalLuffy:
Hey, Ive got one.
Which of the following statements are true?
1. At least one of these ten statements is false.
2. At least two of these ten statements are false.
3. At least three of these ten statements are false.
4. At least four of these ten statements are false.
5. At least five of these ten statements are false.
6. At least six of these ten statements are false.
7. At least seven of these ten statements are false.
8. At least eight of these ten statements are false.
9. At least nine of these ten statements are false.
10. At least ten of these ten statements are false.Oh, and here is another easier one to think about…
If it has a quart capacity, how many pennies can you put into a empty piggy bank?
Yes, and I have a feeling about Gorlom's first riddle. Is it Adam and Eve?
For the first one I am going to say that #1-#5 are the correct answer since the statements have the words at least then #1 saying at least 1 of the satements are false is correct as is #2,3 and 4 5 is correct as well because numbers 6-10 are false.
If they didn't have the words "at least" I would say number 9 since only one of the statements could be true.
And @ Gorlom's riddle, it is adam and eve because they wouldn't have belly buttons seeing as they were never born but rather created.
-
Correct Kakaliaha =)
-
OK, so you got all but my riddle about IX and 6. The real answer is that you make an S in front of the IX to get 6 (or SIX!!!!)no one ever said aything about it having to be a straight line!
…ok, so it wasn't that good...
but here's one that is in the form of a test. An IQ test. I will try to give out one question at a time, and whoever wants to answer can do so. Here it is.
Are you the weakest link? Below are four (4) questions. You
have to answer them quickly. You can't take your time, answer all of them immediately.
OK? Let's find out just how clever you really are.
Ready?First Question:
You are participating in a race. You overtake the second
person. What position are you in? -
second… damn character limit.
-
Correct!
now for ? number 2…
Second Question:
If you overtake the last person, then you are…? -
@HannibalLuffy:
Correct!
now for ? number 2…
Second Question:
If you overtake the last person, then you are…?Second to last.
16 you almost don't fail
-
you overtake the person in last place in the race? then you are obviously not in the race as you would have been the last if you were behind eveyone else.
But im assumeing its something about only the leader is left to overtake so when you overtake the "last person" you are suddenly first place in the race.
-
Well, close…It is impossible to do it. if you were able to overtake last, which you can't, you would be in last. You were generally correct though, Gorlom.
On to ? 3...
Very tricky math! Note: This must be done in your head only. Do
NOT use paper and pencil or a calculator.
Try it.
Take 1000 and add 40 to it.
Now add another 1000.
Now add 30..
add another 1000.
Now add 20.
Now add another 1000.
Now add 10.
What do you get? -
4100 character limits.
-
@HannibalLuffy:
Correct Again!

16 am I right?
-
Correct!
Now for the last ?…
Mary's father has five daughters: 1. Nana, 2 Nene,
3. Nini, 4. Nono.
What is the name of the fifth daughter?Bonus points if you can get this…
There is $21.00 in 1 dollar bills that has to be split evenly among the 2 fathers and 2 sons. How is this possible? -
Nunu? hate that damn character limit.
-
Nope…it's not Nunu...READ THE QUESTION CAREFULLY!!
-
damn its Mary =P got tricked on that one.
7 dollars to each person. just because one of them is both a father and son doesnt warrent him 2 shares =P -
Mary
16 I'm so clever
-
Haha. Correct on both, Gorlom. And you too, Generic Soda. I have alot of these, so make sure to check back often. Try 110-pages worth.
Also, you can check the Humor thread and find more funny stufff posted

! 2. 1 hour

@GorlomYou and a friend are walking in a jungle inhabited by two tribes. One is full of cannibals that allways lie, the other is harmless to visitors and the members allways tell the truth.
At a fork in the road you spot a local, though you cant tell which tribe he belongs to. Further down each road you can spot the 2 villages belonging to each tribe.
Your friend wonders how you are supposed to tell which tribe is which. You wager that you could tell by asking the local only one question. What do you ask him?Edit: After hearing his answer you go to the village the local points out to you. What did you ask him?
Which direction does the other tribe live?
Since its a fork in the road there are only two ways to go, once you ask this the tribal man will point in a direction, either way you go the opposite way. If its the liar tribe then he will point in the direction of his own tribe, if its the safe tribe the tribal man will tell you the truth. Thus you are safe.
What goes from house to house but never enters the door? is it the sidewalk?
A few of yours I am gonna guess they are silly
As for the crocodiles did they happen to be in the forest between 3 and 4 pm because if they did it would explain why they are so flat….
and does the iron ball stop 15 feet underground at the 20 foot iron eating dragon?
-
Which direction does the other tribe live?
the edit says you follow the road he points out to you. (bah it should probably be a yes/no question when i think about it…) This was already solved earlier in the thread though...
(Oh, and just to be a bastard the Cannibal decides to point you back to where you came from instead of at his own village. =P)What goes from house to house but never enters the door? is it the sidewalk?

I guess sidewalk is an accepteble answer. I was looking for "the road" though.
the last two were tricky, weren't they? but you solved them all the same. =)
-
It was rather clever to put to seemingly unrelated riddles above it, kudos on that.
-
I love 2 parters. (thats why i thought overtakeing the last person in the race meant you were in second place overtakeing the leader)
there's a rather funny one that doesn't work as well in writing as it does telling it.
baisicly you ask the person "how do you pronounce new?" and perhaps give them examples.
then in the second step you ask them to pronounce the capitol of america.
A new riddle:
What becomes bigger the more you take away?(not entirely sure about the wording… may be some translation diffuculties)
-
A new riddle:
What becomes bigger the more you take away?(not entirely sure about the wording… may be some translation diffuculties)
The federal deficit?
wait, no. The absolute value of a negative number.
-
perhaps it should be "what do you get more of the more you take away?"
(the value of a negative number is wrong)
-
A new riddle:
What becomes bigger the more you take away?(not entirely sure about the wording… may be some translation diffuculties)
A hole. :P
16 characters to please the masses
-
correct Adross =)
-
… Shit, I should've known that one.
-
heehee…I've got a few more...Oh, and Gorlom got most of them a little whiles back.
All except for 3 and 6. # was 1 hour, since a wound clock cannot tell apart pm from am. As for 6, the first thing you should light is the match! Here we go...Four men sat down to play,
They played all night 'till break of day,
They played for gold and not for fun
With separate scores for everyone.
When they came to square accounts,
They all had made quite fair amounts.
Can you the pardox explain,
If no one lost, how could all gain? Also:
What 3 questions can you never ever answer with a "yes"?
Finnally:
I am free for the taking through all of your life,
Though given but once at birth.
I am less than nothing in weight,
But will fell the strongest of you if held.
What am I? -
What 3 questions can you never ever answer with a "yes"?
are you dead?
are you asleep?
are you unable to speak? -
@hannibal Luffy, third riddle:
Life itself -
@HannibalLuffy does that mean I got all of yours right?
@HannibalLuffy:
Four men sat down to play,
They played all night 'till break of day,
They played for gold and not for fun
With separate scores for everyone.
When they came to square accounts,
They all had made quite fair amounts.
Can you the pardox explain,
If no one lost, how could all gain?Ok men are sitting down, they played all night, they are playing for money, they had separate "scores" and they all got paid equally… sound to me they are professional musicians seeing as they are all playing for money and all have different "scores" maybe in a band or orchestra?

@HannibalLuffy:

What am I?is it breath?
damn 16 characters -
Yes to Maikeru22, and no to Kakaliaha (?). They are playing for different scores, but not of the music kind. Oh, and the last one is wrong, Gorlom. You should look at your computer for the answer.
-
the four guys sat down and played blackjack/slotmachines at a casino. Or there was a fifth player already sitting where the four sat down.
hmm, look at my computer for the answer? ….. draws a blank
How about: "what is 1+1?"?
can't answer yes to that.. =P(how is breath given at birt btw?)
-
For the last question you cannot answer "yes" to:
Are you me?
-
what if he is a clone? or a timetraveler?
or whatif he's dressed up as you for a mascerade?
-
Well, even if someone dresses up as you, he or she is still not you. They're just pretending to be you. Answering "yes" when you ask "Are you me?" would be incorrect; answering "yes" if you ask "Are you dressed as me?" would be correct.
I took the riddle to ask what were questions you cannot truly answer yes to. You can still answer "yes" to "Are you asleep?" or "Are you dead?", but obviously, the answers wouldn't really be sincere.
As for clones or time travelers…seeing as those don't exist (yet) I don't think they'll be a problem. :)
-
that's the problem with timetravelers =P and you from alternate dimension…
just because we dont have the technology doesnt mean there isnt a hypotheticla possibility someone else does.
And you can still answer yes truthfully to the mascerade as you would in that context understand it as "Are you supposed to be me?" or whatever "correct" question you want.
(we also got the split personality scenario, a guy asking his reflection or asking a digital version of himself)
