Pacing really sucked this chapter though. All of this could have been done in four pages.
Yep I agree. Hopefully this ends quick.

I don't want it to be to quick.I just caught up with you guys and by looking at the story Bleach is prbly going to end next year by the looks of it.Then again I hope we do not have long Dragged out fights.
End next year? I doubt it. With the pacing of Bleach being the way it is, and the number of things to be resolved, I'd say we have another two years at least.
I guess we have enough fights now.And I hope it will rock - go Kubooo xD
I still think this is pretty much the final arc of the series but we're still at phase 1. The VC fights (well the four known to get fights since who knows if the other four will get anything…particularly Oomaeda the commentator) are the beginning of everything that will hopefully culminate with the final battle between Aizen and....someone. (most likely Ichigo but may also include whoever is left breathing and wherever they are whether its Karakura, SS, HM or even the King's Dimension) Its sort of hard to judge how much time is left but Kubo sort of wants to take his time to make this final arc what he feels is epic...even if it could get drawn out at points.
Like hell Bleach is going to end soon. Kubo is not that kind of an idiot to introduce concepts of the kings key, a ruler and squad 0 only to never make an arc dedicated to this. I'd be greatly surprised if we never get there.
Bleach is getting worse. Can't Kubo think of a better storyline? It's pace is too SLOW. From 2001 up to now, there has only been few arcs: Pre-Soul Society Arc, Soul Society Arc, Arrancar Arc, Hueco Mundo Arc and Vizard Origin Arc. Honestly, Bleach is only good up to the Soul Society Arc.
Also, there is almost no development in the story per chapter. The latest Ch 319 is just an introduction of the underlings of that old fart Espada. Who cares who they are? Kubo's only way of adding thrill (if you call them thrill at all) is to introduce new enemies who are certain to fall after few chapters and to introduce new techniques with majestic names. I remember that the reason Naruto decided to go for a 80 filler episodes before the Shippuuden is that Kishimoto is trying to THINK a LONG-TERM storyline for the new chapters. He released very few chapters during a certain period just to think of a story. Maybe Kubo should do the same. The next chapters of Bleach will certainly bring nothing new.
Are you aware of the fact that there's a forum skin with a nice black background?
its ok, his post is better unread anyways

Hmmm. I hadn't noticed I've chosen a black font. I accidentally chose a yellow font at first and I've decided to undo it. And that's when I've chosen the black font. Never thought of using the remove text formatting button. Newbie's mistake…

Well, what to say. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I can't think of any word to say. Well maybe I'm just too tired and too boooored with Bleach that I don't even know how to respond.
Yeah I'd like to know that as well, what is this "development" you speak of
Kubo's Comic Con Interview 08
1:15 PM - Kubo has entered the stage in sunglasses. Looks like a pop star or something.
1:16 PM - Kubo presented with an award from Comic Con Int’l. From the cheers I can tell the audience just got much younger than from the preceding Transformers panel.
1:19 PM - 10 kids from Japan are here, Shounen Jump essay winners. Also, we will be getting limited edition posters as we leave.
1:20 PM - “I am very glad to see you all, thank you very much” –Kubo
1:22 PM - Kubo thinks this is “immensely huge” compared to Japanese events. First impressions of being in America: he had to get his passport for this. Strong sunlight makes everything colorful here.
1:25 PM - Has Kubo done any drawing in his time here? (He has to produce 19 pages a week, after all.) He actually worked ahead of time so he could home here. Not a procrastinator.
1:26 PM - Footage of his workspace. World exclusive. There are desks for his assistants as well, a big screen TV. Pictures of his chairs and metal suitcase he bought to come ovr here. A miniature TV just as decoration. A rare Bleach watch. Oddly enough, Bobobobo in some background art; he had asked a sketch/autograph exchange. The man has a vast CD collection, too (1200-1300 on a shelf; others stacked up). Picture of a kitchen, which is clean because they never cook!
1:32 PM - Upstairs: Kubo’s actual work area. Footage of him working with a ton of markers next to him. He’s coloring. HIs work chair was chosen based on design and he drew Aizen’s chair like it. Handing manuscripts and fan letters to his editor.
1:35 PM - Video portion over. Now questions from audience.
1:35 PM - What inspired him to become a manga artist? Decided when he was in elementary school. He became interested in architecture and design after he had already become a manga artist.
1:38 PM - What comes first in Bleach? : Kubo puts character, not plot, first.
1:39 PM - What inspired him to put Spanish/Mexican culture in Bleach? Nothing intentional with the character Chad. However, he just sensed he had a Mexican heritage. Someone in audience shouts “Viva La Raza!”
1:40 PM - Where does he come up with the opening drawings? He puts characters in clothes he can’t get.
1:40 PM - Advice for aspiring manga artists: Seems stumped…”believe in your talent.” Do something you yourself must enjoy; otherwise it’s dishonest to charge someone for your story.
1:41 PM - What was the initial thought for bleach? "Bleach was inspired by the fact that i wanted to draw shinigami in kimonos, and to make something no one had seen before, started with Rukia’s design."
1:42 PM - How did Quincy and its name come about (JEREMY’S QUESTION!): “I created Quincy to be Ichigo’s rival character, so, for that, I put him in white clothing.” He uses arrows because it’s long range, and it will be difficult for Ichigo to fight him. The Quincy name is from his five point star; in Japan this is a symbol. If you call every archer a “Quincy Archer” it sounds like a person’s name, so he liked it.
1:45 PM - How do you draw action scenes? Plays rock music in his head as he draws it. He pauses the action and try to swing around in 3D mentally to find the best angle.
1:46 PM - When did he realize he had such a big fanbase in the US? Yesterday!
1:47 PM - Pancha Diaz, Viz editor asks: What part of the process does he enjoy the most? When thinking of the story, if it’s something he’s been waiting to do for a while, he enjoys it very much. Usually has a scene rundown of things to draw in his head. Connecting scenes are a bit harder. Inking is also enjoyable for him.
1:49 PM - Pancha Diaz again: How long between drawing and publication? Between 2-3 weeks. Diaz, by contrast notes, has to do 6 months in advance.
1:50 PM - Will there be an Isshin backstory? Yes! He knew from the start he was a Soul Reaper.
1:51 PM - Three minutes left. Is the Kon doll inspired by something from his childhood? Wanted to create something fake looking, where you put random things together–like a sewing line in the middle of the face. Backstory: a father bought a cheap stuffed animal for his child, and the child threw it away because it was ugly–that’s why he is on the street.
1:54 PM - Idea for Hell Butterflies: Looked up in a dictionary for word that goes well with “Soul Reaper.” It is a kind of butterfly that is another name for a real butterfly species. Prefers to fly in the dark, and it fits well with the Soul Reapers.
End of panel.

That makes me wish that I went to Comic-con but it too far away for me though.
Sounds like the Kubo interview was basic enough but it did give a bit of information on Quincies..and keeps teasing out Isshin's back-story. (not to mention…he just used "hell butterflies" from looking in a dictionary? That sounds silly)
Ivotas: I didn't say Bleach was ending any time soon. All I'm saying is that this probably is just the introduction of the final arc. Somehow I believe this battle will encorperate everything needed, including the Vizard, the daddies and, finally, the King's Dimension.
So Kubo puts characters ahead of plot? Why am I not surprised?
Not that this is a bad thing, mind. There are a lot of authors who work with characters first, plot second. And really, how many people started reading Bleach for the plot? Not many, I bet. Bleach's strength has always been it's characters. (that used to be Naruto's strength, but we know how that has turned out . . . .)
Sounds like a cute panel. I'm always amused when Japanese manga-ka come to events in America and are blown away by the size. Although Comic-Con is the biggest con in the world (I think?), so it's not surprising to be flabbergasted by it all.
I think that's a better idea, with characters (and there background) you can build a story around them. I find characters to be more important than the plot. Not too mention fans are more interested in the characters than the plot for any Shonene Manga.
You need to put both characters and plot on equal footing when it comes to shonen. You can have an amazing story with cliched characters or have an amazing group of characters with cliched plot and have success with both. But if you can balance both characters and plot, then you have something extraordinary.
Shonen Jump ain't known for the story. It is usually what the characters bring to the table.
Oh, I'm a character girl through and through (why else do you think I read shoujo?), but when a manga loses ALL sense of plot, even the characters can't save it sometimes.
Bleach hasn't lost its plot. Yet.
@Tokoro:
But if you can balance both characters and plot, then you have something extraordinary.
You mean One Piece.
That was a interesting reading of the panel. Hopefully we get to the point of Isshin's backstory sooner or later. But still that was a interesting read.
Isshin backstory confirmed. Yay.
Ichigo vs Ishida confirmed?
I wonder which division that Isshin was a member of?
Yeah I'd like to know that as well, what is this "development" you speak of http://www.dogsonacid.com/images/smilies/badteeth.gif
-> :sad: ->
There appears to be a spoiler currently…it looks like both Kira and Yumichika's opponents are already releasing. (and there's some sort of joke about that freak Yumichika is fighting having a super-long attack name)
so another chapter of nothing of huge major importance happening than?
Disturbing spoiler pic ahead:
!
! I suddenly realize that Bon Kurei wasn't that bad compared to….this.
snorting laughter
Is that supposed to be Kubo's tribute to Sailor Moon or something?
10 bucks says we have Yumichika puking by the end of his fight.
All I can really say is this: with each gay character Kubo introduces, he seems to up the ante.
-Yumichika: he has an obsession with "flashiness", but is macho enough since he is in 11th Division
-Szayel: Gay Mayuri ripoff with pink-hair & a disturbed release…but at least he is just nuts considering he eats his subordinates alive and at least uses women to "reborn" himself. (see Nemu)
-Charlotte: Pure out-and-out flaming nuts
Kubo better reward us with some yuri fight with Matsumoto or Soifon after this monstrosity.
After squinting at the furigana in the picture, it looks like Charlotte's release is called "Reina de Rosas." Or "Queen of Roses."
Yeeaaahh . . . .
To be honest, I never really saw Yumichika as gay. Obsessed with himself and quite fabulous, but more in a narcissistic way than gay.

OK, maybe Yumichika is closer to metrosexual than gay…but at the same time, he is gayer than anyone else on 11th Squad so he could disturb the others.
I would never have expected a character like that in Bleach…A Gay looking one.
Full summary out and it pretty much writes itself: semi-gay man vs. super-gay man in catfights with broken arms and such…and oh yeah, Kira's opponent releases instantly.
I would never have expected a character like that in Bleach…A Gay looking one.
Me niether.I was a little surprising. But you know there has got to be one character like that in a series.
No manga is complete without an okama! OP has Bon Clay, Bleach has Charlotte, Naruto has . . . . . wait, Naruto doesn't have one yet! I knew something was missing.

Orochimaru was kinda womanly looking in appearance, and so was Haku…
Hmmm, maybe Haku is the Okama.
We question a series' "okama"ness with Haku, Orochimaru, Kimimaro, Sai, Sasuke…yeah, maybe it isn't as obvious compared to Bon Kurei or Charlotte. (but Kubo owes us big...and when I say "big", I mean a Matsumoto fight where her whole outfit comes off as well as a Bankai)
What the hell people? You can't find the "crossdresser" in naruto?
Have you forgotten all about the main characters "sexy no justsu"?? It doesn't become any clearer which one is the genderbender then that.

The True answer to ultimate gayness
Why isn't he disturbed? You can break character if something like that happens.
"Sexy no Jutsu" does not count as being an okama. It's just a prank, it's not a lifestyle, as it is for Bon Clay and apparently Charlotte.
that was disturbing
The chapter is out on One Manga now.
I may pluck out my eyeballs before the end of the night.
No manga is complete without an okama! OP has Bon Clay, Bleach has Charlotte, Naruto has . . . . . wait, Naruto doesn't have one yet! I knew something was missing.
What about Haku? He kind of….dressed in women's clothes....looked like a woman.....Naruto thought he was a woman.....plus, just looking at the Title page of the new Naruto chapter.....along with other characters...
Yeah, so my eyes are burning as I wasn't expecting that at all. I thought that it was a fight between "the pretty boys" but this guy just busted the ceiling of that into a whole other realm.
Er, Haku was about as okama as one can get. He looked like a chick, talked like a chick, dressed like a chick, loved teh mans, and was completely unintelligible from the real deal.
His Okama Way is the way of traps like Bridget, Ryou from Bremen and Nuriko from Fushigi Yuugi. Not the same Way as Charlotte and Bon Clay, but all share the Okama Heart.
…yeah, enough being a retard.
Chapter was amusing enough, I was pretty surprised that Charlotte would be as strong as he is. But Yumichika still hasn't released yet, so I guess the real fight is yet to come.
I'm more interested in Kira's fight, to be honest... seeing him go all-out is shaping up to be something very cool.
Also, YAY GIN.
Once again, I have no idea what the fuck he's thinking...
I've said this somewhere, but I'm sure that everyone has already thought of it. Gin reminds me of Sojiro, but Gin….he definitely has a plan.
Um that was a awkward chapter. On topic Gin is gonna betray Aizen for the Soul Society and end up killing Aizen at the end. OGM= oh god mofo get an imagination and you will think I'm right.
Charlotte is what Recoome would've been had be been a flaming homosexual. Yumichika's Bankai will probably leave him a dried-up prune and illicit a ''Who's the ugly one now?!'' gloat.
Nothing left really to say about the chapter…outside my fear that Yumichika may reveal his Bankai soon enough and our gouged eyes will bleed wells. At least we got a good comment by Gin about Kira...
