Bleach Discussion Part 2

Ya know… they're really not that outnumbered.
12 captains vs Aizen, Gin and Tousen, and the 3 remaining Espada. The Vice Captains probably can't do much, so it's a pretty even fight.
-
It's 4 Espada, well, 5 if you count Yammi.
-
Aizen can genjutsu the hell out of them anytime anyway. I'd really like to know what they're going to do about his zanpakuto.
@Fire Fist:
Uliquorra's mask piece is the damn Vasto Lorde helmet, for chrissakes.
He's a VL poser. The top three are constantly making fun of him because of that.
-
It feels kinda of convenient that Tousen is blind, and isn't affected by Aizen's illusions.
I'm kind of disappointed that we're in store for more fights though. There's been fights for like, 40 chapters.
And Yammi isn't gonna make it to the real world, neither will Ulquiorra. Ichigo and Chad gotta f' them up.
-
Wow things are happening. Finally. I hope to see all of the remaining Espada absolutely fucked up by these captains and vice captains + the original crew.
-
Wasn´t Aizen´s entire motivation why he sided chose his current path "to seek new hights"? If that´s the case then I take it pretty much as a given he´s top in every possible way a Captain can grow, meaning he outclasses the other Captains.
Furthermore he might have even succeeded in growing himself eversince he came to Hueco Mundo (the Espada wouldn´t obey him if he´s not strong) so even more reasons to think that he´s above everyone else.
And probably the most simple and yet possibly strongest point for him being stronger then the rest. He´s the main antagonist. Overkill or not she should be pretty much able to cope with the situation.
-
Um, no use for Orihime? Wasn't she supposed to play a key role in Aizen's plan?!?

What I'm kind of expecting is that Aizen is pretty much tops… in Hueco Mundo and Soul Society. But I can easily picture a demon from Hell coming up and kicking his ass in seconds. I mean, that giant hand with the giant-ass knife from Episode 2 (or was it 3) was pretty fucking nasty.
-

I´d actually wait for that statement to be confirmed. Sounds a bit weird with all the trouble he went through to kidnap her in the first place. OR he simply is playing mindtricks with her.

Don´t know, a big hand doesn´t have to mean it´s the strongest shit you get at this place. But perhaps Aizen could be in the league to take on these guys too. Somebody who wants to create the Kings Key in order to (if the assumption of Soul Society is correct) to murder the ruler/king or whatever he is called like, then he must be pretty strong to accomplish that goal. Because I seriously doubt that that ruler/king is a weakling.

Or maybe Aizen knew that the dream team (Ichigo/Rukia/Orihime/Chad/Ishida/Renji) would be a threat to him, so he kidnapped the most vulnerable of the six, knowing full well that the other five would follow, and he could then either kill them or trap them, and possibly even lure more of the Gotei Thirteen as well…

Now that you mention it, would definitely fit the characteristics of a mastermind for such a diversion. After all, there´s still this matter about the Vasto Lordes that hasn´t been settled yet. Perhaps Aizen already has them all assembled and created intended for this entire invasion in the first place to also make the weaker Espade fall to enemies rather then becoming obsolete and turning against him.
Not that he couldn´t take them, but from a strategic point of view it is smarter to let your enemies take themselves out then letting them join forces together against you.
Btw, a totally different question that has nothing whatsoever to do with the current plot, but I´ve been dying to find that out for ages. When did the characters actually learn to fly respectively to stand in midair? For Shinji and the Arrancar this is ok, since they were introduced with these abilities but how about the Death God´s? Didn´t look like they could do that back in Soul Society, not to mention that Ichigo was never able of that before the Arrancar came. Plothole or simply my lack of knowledge?
-
Actually, the standing in the air-thing was mentioned before Soul Society, and Ichigo did it once, against Orihime's hollow-brother. I remeber it because I noticed this thing that was coming out of nowhere with no explanation afterwards.
Urahara or someone like that came back to it later. -
I'm pretty sure they can only stand on air while they are on Earth. Although IIRC Grimmjow was flying in his fight against Ichigo, at least after he'd released.

Urahara or someone like that came back to it later.Wow, you´re right. Just checked that again. Totally forgot about that scene. So if he could do that all along, why doesn´t he simply fly/walk on air all the time when he tries to get somewhere?

But what about that whole bit where he explains what Orihime's "reject" is? Seems to me that he wouldn't do all that just to show off…

I never said that Orihime´s powers don´t come in handy to him. It´s not like the practic use of her abilities and the fact that Aizens opponents are on the move are two components that directly oppose each other. For all we know they might be two different arguments for kidnapping her that compliment each other.
-
I thought Aizen said he needed Orihime to restore the hougyoku every so often because using it like he is was somehow effing it up.
Somehow maybe possibly perhaps?
-
So it appears it was a diversion after all. That´s Aizen for ya. Wonder if he hasn´t miscalculated the Vizard component though. Even though they don´t like the Death God´s they most certainly wouldn´t like their hometown to be completely destroyed.
-
I just had an interesting thought: Aizen essentially verified that not only has he fooled Ichigo's group and the Gotei 13 the last couple years, but the Arrancar and even the Espada as well. And considering how many potential angry hollows that are probably hearing this (Grimmjow, Nel, Stark, Halibel, Old Guy, Yammy…and possibly Ulquiorra but he's now literally cut off from everything), its like he's confident that he can crush everyone even if they all teamed up on him.
Somehow having only read and watched Soul Society with the dub, this chapter makes me appreciate Aizen even more.
-
…goddamn. Aizen fucking played them all.
I was expecting some kind of "olol just as planned, fuckers" moment, but not to this extent.
Many props to Kubo for this one.
-
Wow, this chapter was the best one since… ever. At least I haven't seen any other chapters this good for as long as I've followed the series.
-
yeah, best chapter since the Mayuri vs. Syazel fight.

What a horrible plan

The entire chapter was pretty much saying "Just as planned", just not directly, which we would ALL love to see.

Ivotas what do you think of the recent chapter?
There's your storytelling!! -
Ivotas what do you think of the recent chapter?
There's your storytelling!!This chapter wasn't storytelling.
This chapter is Aizen saying, "You dicked around pointlessly for the last couple hours so that I could get everyone to come here and then trap you. Now I'm going to do what I said I was going to do 80 chapters ago."
-

It was storytelling. It gave reasons as to why Aizen did what he did, most of the events before is the results of now.
-
This chapter REALLY negated basically everything we thought was going on
and in a really stupid way
his plan was to give his opponents a chance to get stronger? SMART

Kubo gets props for this!!

How was his plan to let his enemies get stronger…?
It was divide and conquer, and he obviously divided the enemy well enough. Trapping the group that's in Hueco Mundo atm really put a damper on SS's powers (that's including Ichigo and co)
Like I said before, the only threats in the real world right now are the captains. The VC's will get their shit wrecked. So it's a 6 vs 6 in the real world right now, pretty much.
-
Unless Ichigo and Ishida's dad and Urahara jump in this shit.
And Keigo Asano and the others might of got some crazy powerup.
-
In actuality this plan was really dumb, giving his enemies any chance of ruining his plans is just plain stupid. Not to mention he didn't even know which captains were going to be sent, if more powerful and quicker captains were deployed, say the old man and those two double-sword users (forgot their names… too many complicated names in this series), maybe they could have stopped Aizen before he ever got the chance to open the portal into the real world.
If he was smart, Aizen would have killed the intruders then use his illusions to trick the invading captains into thinking they were still alive and subsequently use his illusions to protect his own forces.
I swear the only illusion user that knows how to use their powers to the fullest extent is Kyanchome of Konjiki no Gash. Now there was a dominating illusion artist who struck fear in everyone!!

No, this doesn't earn him any brownie points.
Lord knows this could lead to a dozen more pointless fights between the other captains and the other Arrancar.

But it didn't happen the way your explaining it, that's the point. You assume the plan was stupid because he gave them a chance to ruin his plans? Well obviously Aizen's plans were not thwarted.

None of the fights were pointless, did you read the chapter?

But it has. He expected Soul Society to be still IN Soul Society playing defense. And Kenpachi just said they've made plans to get them out of Hueco Mundo and have everyone fight together.
None of the fights were pointless, did you read the chapter?
These fights only had one purpose. Kill a bunch of low level Arrancar, and get to show off more battles.
Let's drop this "no purpose" nonsense now, it's a bunch of hooey from a locked thread that doesn't have to come here. And you can stop being a smartass with Ivotas.

Very nicely put, thats exactly the right words

Kenpachi didn't say that, read the chapter again.

It's obvious now that you don't read Bleach.

Kenpachi didn't say that, read the chapter again.
Is this the correct translation? I don't know who scanlates this.
Kenpachi: … I thought I told ya. The moment he decided the true battle would be this winter,
The old guy gave Urahara Kisuke… A few tasks to carry out.
The first task was to create a path for the Captains to Hueco Mundo.
And the second task… was to ensure that..
Every single Gotei 13 Captain would be ready to do battle in Karakura Town.
(small caption: They have gathered! The full ranks are ready for war!!!!)
-
Honestly, the only Captains I think that could do jackshit against Aizen, Tousen and Gin are Yamamoto, Shunsui and Ukitake. The others are all pretty weak.
-
Well, the ones not in Hueco Mundo, anyways.
Unohana's supposed to be broken tier, IIRC.
And, to answer why the fights were not pointless, tarrin4ever, this is because Aizen needed like one-hundred thousand souls before he could destroy Karakura Town. When Ichigo and friends came to Hueco Mundo, this was killing two birds with one stone:
1.) Souls would be collected (Aaroniero Allu-what'shisbutt alone had thirty-three thousand, which Rukia helped Aizen along with) in the fights against the Espada. Espada are, essentially, Arrancar who absorbed the most souls to survive while Menos, yes? Therefore, each Arrancar killed (Zommari, AA, Nnoity, Szayel, Lolly, Menoly, etc.), even if they ended up revived by any means, would contribute highly to the soul count.
2.) It trapped Ichigo's crew in Hueco Mundo, thus relieving him of a potential thorn in his side come D-Day.
-

The others are all pretty weak.If they made captain, then they aren't very weak. Besides, Gin and Tousen are way below Aizen's level anyway.
-
I seriously doubt Hitsugaya or SOI FONG could do anything to the 1-3 Espada, or the EVIL CAPTAINS. Hitsugaya barely beat Luppi and Soi Fong probably won't even be able to hit anyone with her shikai
Last time we saw Hitsugaya fight Gin he was pretty outclassed
-
Yes, but a Hitsugaya/Rangiku VS. Gin combo… That may actually happen, considering Rangiku's shared past with Gin. He can't fight her, if I remember correctly...
-

Sorta like Kingdom Hearts you mean. That's not a bad theory actually. I don't recall it ever being hinted at in the manga, so a theory it unfortunately remains for now.
@SuNa:

That's just it though. I don't know if it was a sloppy translation or not, but it sounded like Kenpachi indicated that they'd all be able to get to Karakura town soon.
-
I'm pretty sure Kenpachi meant that Yamamoto ordered Urahara to make quick ways for captains to get to Hueco Mundo and Karakura Town, not that they'll be able to get there. I mean all of the remaining captains showing up that fast to fight off Aizen and co. basically proved what Kenpachi said right before.
-

Hitsugaya is weak, thats nothing new. We need to see Soi Fong bankai though. Her Shikai won't do nothing as you stated, but thats only Shikai.
-
Hitsuyaga barely beat Luppi, who didn't really deserve the 6th place anyway. Plus he had a shithole level of trouble with Shawlong anyway. He has no purpose there. And Soifong won't be able to do much either. I suppose if Halibel was 3 … nah... im not even going there.
