Being a free-thinker doesn't mean i don't respect other religions, Tash. My mom is a christian and i follow her to church, and of course i have friends who follow the Muslim and Buddhist faith.

Personally, I really don't think this subject is appropriate for the board. Some people here have really strong convictions about religion, be they for a certain one, or against all of them. That can lead into some really heated arguements, and possible flames.
However, if you guys can discuss the beliefs and play nicely, without putting anyone down for what they believe in, it can stay open.

Well, in response to the original post, I'm Christian but not Catholic, so I don't really pay a lot of attention to what goes on with the Pope other than that he was a decent man and the world will miss him. As for the end of the world and all that, Jesus says that no one knows the day or the hour. I think that's a good reason to ignore any rumors of "OMG da world's gonna end!"
