I get why he's in the episodes, I'm just not sure I get the fascination with why he's so great that he is so prevalent in two episodes. It just seems so random. Is that why it's suppose to be funny?
I don't think I'm making my point clear..

Dontcha just <3 Massachusetts
anyway
the only part of this episode that made me laught was Chris questioning Herbert if he was a petifile.
I skipped the first ten minutes of this episode to take a shower. I only saw up to the point where Herbert was reading Chris a story, then my dad came in and made me Google-search a bunch of dead actors, so I missed the rest.
Of what I saw, it wasn't painfully horrible. In fact, I actually chuckled at Stewie's Woodstock (or whatever it was) flashback.
@Tommy:

Wasn't there already a Woodstock flashback anyway I have to wait til they put it online thanks to my sis C-Blocking the damn TV didn't even get to watch the Wire either which is kind of hard to watch with my mother and sister spoiling it before I can get around to watching it myself.
Well after a 2 month long hiatus Family Guy came back with a new episode which definitely was better than the last new episode they showed.
Sypnosis:
When Brian is afraid that he has lost his chance at love, he goes in search of a former flame Tracy only to discover he is the father of her unruly son, Dillon. After Brian's surprise visit, Tracy drops Dillon off at the Griffin's so Brian can raise him. Subsequently, his new little angel begins terrorizing the Griffin household and Brian's self-important attitude toward parenting infuriates Peter and Lois. Brian and Dillon then discover they both smoke marijuana and bond. Dillon becomes a "good child," but everyone becomes infuriated again when Brian starts becoming a stereotypical "too woried" parent. Peter decides to get Dillon's mother to take him back.
Liked:
Brian's inside joke about Brian telling Stewie to go complain on the internet about Brian's age though personally it seemed blatantly hypocritical on Stewie's part.
Mexican funeral though it was a bit much.
Evil Monkey getting beaten up by Brian's son.
Meg being forced to watch the bad parts of Mython Phyton.
Didn't really like
Peter's plan to send Brian's son back to his mother.
The result of said plan
The Matthew McConaughey bit involving Stewie and the results of it.
Hopefully next week's episode should it come on keeps up the trend.
I saw tonight's episode, too.
I got a slight chuckle out of the "Mexican funeral" scene, but other than that, this episode didn't really do it for me. I did think the scene with Stewie's conversation with Matthew McConaughey went on (far) too long.
And Stewie is now official a one-dimensional gay joke, if he wasn't already.
@Tommy:

He's been that way since The Road to Europe.
Honestly, I thought this was one of the weakest Family Guy episodes ever. There were far too many "cutaway" jokes, and most of them weren't too funny. Of course that's probably because the plot itself was pretty thin and didn't work too well. I was actually expecting Dylan to not be Brian's son after all, but hey I guess that means Brian's genetic seed is out there now.

It's better than having too few.
This one had a couple funny jokes, but it was mostly pretty dissapointing to me.
I didn't get half the jokes actually.

I'm sure in another few episodes (maybe season(s)) this will come up again and it will be proven false that the two are related. It just feels lt's gonna happen to me…

Well they did retcon the origin of how Stewie got his football shaped head
so why not.
Okay, it's time for Family Guy and American Dad to be canceled.
This just isn't funny anymore. Honestly, they've run out of ways to shock people, so now their just relying on tired crap. Turning Stewie into a flaming faggot and Brian into a preachy left-wing shithead just really turns me off. Family Guy should never have come back.

This just isn't funny anymore to some.
Fixed.
Anyway if we're talking about canceling shows due to getting stale, Family Guy should be the last show up there.
so now their just relying on tired crap.
No more guilty of it than South Park.
Turning Stewie into a flaming faggot turns me off.
The sexual confusion bit is used every once in awhile and even when used it's touched upon for one to two scenes.
and Brian into a preachy left-wing shithead just really turns me off.
Blame Seth for trying to add a bit of depth to a chain smoking talking dog.
Family Guy should never have come back.
Blame Fox for releasing it on Home video, the show being syndicated, and the fanboys for eating it up.
The only character change I hated was Brian. He started out the always drinking, cynical, dry witted dog and then slowly became some bestiality loving (I know there were some girls in the beginning of the series too but it was never seriously focused on) flawed… thing!
I do wish Stewie would go back to just being maniacal instead of silly but he's still just as funny.

Oh yea I forgot about his cynicism & drinking.

The way Gary put it that too would get stale.
I fucking hate family guy I fucking hate stewie he isn't funny at all,and I fucking hate fox.
I agree turning Stewie into a one dimensional gay joke, and Brian into a preachy left-wing douche all of a sudden were very crappy changes. Brian also seems to be a pothead now.
When they try to act political, they sound retarded. I'd like to mention that the gay marriage episode was a disaster. Not only had South Park and The Simpsons already done it earlier, but the whole plot with Brian being a goody goody and holding up the mayor's office was stupid as hell.
I actually liked the first few episodes after the show came back. However, it got lame fast. There are only a few choice episodes that I enjoy nowadays. At least of the newer ones.
I loved Family Guy. (before it got brought back) Now I'm at that point where I'm embarrassed by it. "I'm Peter, Here me Roar" was golden. If only they could come up with decent plots and not just shit with James Woods and Brian's Son.
Adam West? James Woods?
Well it seems that Cleveland spinoff just might be happening.
The newer episodes of Family Guy are impossible to laugh at. The random flashbacks don't have the same feeling like they used to. Like everyone here has already said; they've all devolved into half-baked political humor. The running gags run dry, too. Especially the one-note characters like Herbert.
And I agree that all the character changes are awful. I liked Stewie alot more when he was the evil genius baby always trying to kill Lois, not some flaming homo.
I've only watched a small part of one episode.
Then I tried to stab my ears and gouge my eyes out.
Is that what makes this show so appealing?
Huh.
Truthfully, I did not find tonight's episode to be all that bad.
Sure Peter once again goes from being a brain-dead idiot to a dickless asshole at the drop of a hat, and there were one or two overly-long cutaways, but I didn't find tonight's episode to be all that terrible.
I agree with everyone's general sentiment of the show. I used to like Brian as a character (never much of a funny one) but now I just can't stand him in an episode. Stewie is so lame now. The 'awkward moment' gag is pushed on him way too often. I liked him as a minature wisecracking maniac. Peter is starting to feel the effects of Homer; being overused since he's the last funny character left.
Random flashbacks REALLY lost their touch. I used to love them. I kinda wish they did the South Park Manatee idea. I'd bet they could come up better stuff than this crap.
It was nice seeing Brian get the shit beaten out of him for once.
family guy sweet….
love a good show that's not afraid of blasting innuendo and poke fun at things
perversion is an art form gotta make it fun
next
I laughed twice at tonights' episode….Not even big "haha!" laughs.
Anyway, I guess it wasn't all that bad. Guessing Anna is going to become a regular character now.
I really hate how no one stays in character anymore in this show. It's quite random.
Peter is starting to feel the effects of Homer; being overused since he's the last funny character left
Actually, I think that Stewie and Brian are being overused nowadays.
I liked this episode a lot more than last weeks. Not a great episode, but still good. I must say though that Stewie has been way too gay these last two episodes. It used to be that he was pretty ambiguous, but now he's just flaming. The plundering of the Englishman was pretty good, although it dragged on a little bit, and the frog scene was way too long. I did like Brian gettin beat up and then the bloody aftermath at the end. Overall, again, good episode.
It was nice seeing Brian get the shit beaten out of him for once.
Hate to break this to you but that's not the first time that Brian's had the crap beaten out of him.
anaj0kVrXEg&feature
Best I could scare up
Anyway in regards to last night's episode it was…passable
@Mr.:
Actually, I think that Stewie and Brian are being overused nowadays.
Not really everybody gets their own episode about them with the other characters in supporting.
Yeah, Stewie and Brian have had their share of episodes where you hardly see them.
Those episodes are usually pretty good.

Pretty much how I feel. BBC3 have been re-airing all of the episodes and I forgot just how good they were, especally Stewie as an evil genius. At the moment I'm hesitant if I'll watch the new season when it's aired in the UK.
Hey, we had Family Guy discussion thread!
And you bumped it after a year on inactivity and despite the fact most people here don't like it.
A leaked of the Cleveland Show pilot is out.
Cleveland show looks good.
LOL'd at Tim the Bear, and Rollo (the 'new' Stewie) and Cleveland Jr.'s new look.
And Roberta makes is much better than Meg.
Stewie was funny at the start saying "What THEY get their own show!" and
waving Cleveland off with "Goodbye Chocolate People"
And Tim with claling the group the 'Jesus Crusaders was funny. Man, his accent is reason enough to laugh. And then they showed a clip of Dolly Parton as a baby in a highchair and it was just this tiny little baby with huge boobs …
And then they got married at the end ... Awww ...
"The Black Brady Bunch" as Rollo put it ...
Definitely a great show. I liked all the new characters, especially Rallo. There were just so many great scenes. Seth McFarlane did awesome with the pilot. I just hope future episodes are that good.
I will say that I did laugh my ass off to Cleveland Jr coming out as Prince. xD. And I do agree Tim the Bear is going to be one of the highlights of the show.

No, I bumped it because I like it. And to bring back the discussions. It's a good show, it relaxes you. Maybe idiotic, but what do you find funny in a show? Clever jokes? Oh yes, we all love those.
I will say that I did laugh my ass off to Cleveland Jr coming out as Prince. xD.
I don't remember that part.
Anyway, I was surprised at how good this show was. It certainly shows promise. Tim the Bear and Rollo were good, and I gotta say that I think I like Roberta more than Meg or Haley (design-wise anyway)

Actually I like Family Guy and still like it even if has admittedly fallen off the quality bus a season ago.
I will say that I did laugh my ass off to Cleveland Jr coming out as Prince. xD
Wait. What?
Meh, it's okay, it's not stellar, but it's better than Family Guy. However, I won't watch it for the simple fact that Cleveland's laugh is effing irritating.
Pass
Its on the trailers for the Cleveland show that Fox on their youtube page.
Ok/..the new season Premiere was awesome
I actually like the disney versions of them.
Disney world was the best. The ending was really funny.
The Cleaveland Show opener was good, where all the Family Guy characters were still there, but the rest wasn't that funny. I did get a chuckle now and then but the characters aren't interesting and most of the jokes suck. Family Guy seemed a lot better tonight.
That was the most incredible animation sequence I've seen in a show like this…ever. EVER FUDGING EVER HOLY SMACKERS! D:
Cleaveland Show was kind boring to me(nothing the teasers didn't show), but it can grow.
Family Guy was "alright" for once. And I use "alright" loosely for a show as bad as this.
American Dad was typical. Not enough Roger.
Meh. It's a matter of time before Seth kills the Simpsons off.
Just got done watching the premiere episode and loved it. Especially the universe where it shows real stewie and real brian that was hilarious.
