The special they showed leading into episode 100 was too short, oh and if nobody already know this they're making another Star Wars Special (The Empire Strikes Back) which we most likely won't see until next year for the next season's premiere.

It wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. The special with all the interviews was pretty funny though. And wow I always thought Seth Mcfarlen would look a bit… diffrent.
I doubt all of those were real. Not to sound like a party-pooper but some of those responses were too perfect. They were exactly in line with Seth's pet peeves.

I think Family Guy is retarded when it goes political because it simply resorts to pointless fart jokes (HAHAHA! CHENEY HAS A GUN! GET IT!? CAUSE HE SHOT A GUY!!!! HAHAHAHA) (HAHAHA! CLINTON IS SLEEPING AROUND! CAUSE HE CHEATED ON HIS WIFE IN THE 90'S!!!! HAHAHA) instead of examining issues like South Park, but that doesn't mean it's a boring or unfunny show.
Plus, to get repsonses that perfect, they would have had to interview a fuckload of people. I'm not saying it isn't impossible, but some answers seem far too contrived and suspicious to be given at random.
And even if they are real, Seth is a pretentious fuck for making fun of normal people's opinions (however dim they might be) like that. I understand lampooning critics and professionals but normal people? Is he really that much better than them?

It's hit or miss with me. I love the older stuff but yeah, I don't like how self indulgent Seth is with the constant singing. But if it's on and I'm not busy I'll probably end up watching it.
And I think it's good that it doesn't really go in depth with the 'issues' since Seth's political leanings aren't exactly a break away from the norm of bland liberalism that a lot of comedy in the US is infused with.

I have been a Family Guy fan since Day 1 it first started airing on Fox in 1999. I been pretty much supported to the show since then. Even through they have been two or three epsidoes I didn't like. I still love the show anyway.

Exactly. I don't need/want a show to be intelligent to enjoy it. South Park is smart as hell. Everytime Matt and Trey say something I'm constantly amazed at how much sense it makes because it's just plain honest. They accomplished that mainly by not having an agenda. not attaching to any crowd. They just kinda do their own thing without needing support groups, etc. Even people who helped them get where they are aren't off-limits.
I really respect that.
BUT
I don't NEED that in a comedy. I don't need a show to have a meaning or a point. It should just be silly good fun. The early seasons of Family Guy were AMAZING, and they still have little vinettes that are brilliant from time to time. The Mickey Rooney bit from last season's premier was just amazing:

Family Guy want downhill dramatically since the new one's. I basically agree with all the people criticizing it. I still watch it though. Mainly cause I have nothing better to do.
I'm also probably the only person who doesn't find Futerama that funny. It's still an okay show though.
I admit that the episode where Brian moved in with his girlfriend wasn't a very good episode but Family like most shows before have good & bad episodes so it's natural.
Actually I loved that episode. The covenience store scenes were legendary. That was basically my 4 years of high school in 4 minutes, talking about how awesome movies I wasn't 'supposed' to see were and the parts with nudity down to the, "45 minutes and 27 seconds in."
When I go back and look at the family guy episodes from the first three and a half seasons, especially from season 2 on, i notice that there weren't as many manatee gags as the episodes do now. The writers seem to have become obsessed with their own intelligence and are just inserting crap that isn't funny and doesn't make sense, whereas before it didn't make sense, but at least it was funny, like when peter met the time of the cheese guy.
My favorite bit is without a doubt the Giant Chicken. Just amazing.

After about four episodes into season four, it got…meh. And eventually it got...to be complete and utter pig shit. I mean...Jesus Christ, the last three seasons have been so bad.

When did that seem like a good idea? For me, it's gotten to a point where I can't even look at the new episodes they're so bad.

Yeah Jesus, what is there deal with him? It's boring as hell! At first he was incredibly creepy and awful and terrible. Just watching him on screen was unnerving.
But now, since he has a little bit in each episode it seems, they took away that power and he's just that annoying dead horse they keep raping over and over.
They have good ideas but when they can't let go of them and love to cuddle in their own genius, it's just like, come on guys, next joke please, bring back the magic.
I like FG best when it doesn't try to be funny. Same goes for the Simpsons. Homer gets a ninja star to the head. What does he do? What a normal human might, start speaking gibberish and losing bodily control. That was awesome.
I like FG a lot and they still have great material. I hope this strike will give Seth some time to stop polishing his balls and think up some great ideas.

So Unstoppable that FOX cancelled it and then brought it back (which has it's problems with FOX altering the scheldue every so often.) also I can give you a number of bad episodes in the first two and a half seasons

South Park too, I can't say some of the stuff that I'm about to say with complete certainty since I haven't sat down to watch the show from beginning to end in like 4 or 5 yrs but it's guilty of the same thing I mean if see you've seen one joke that's very offensive [and not easy going about it] like Cartman making fun of Kyle's religion or any of the the stuff in regard to Homesexuals, or very crude & stupid episodes like "More Crap" or Osama Bin Laden has farty pants just to name a couple.As for the Simpsons it's officially come down with Seinfeld Syndrome [The Show About Nothing] it's funny how in the Family Guy Retrospective people said it should be cancelled [most of them justified their opinion saying they should try something new instead] and yet neither Simpsons or South Park got a mention and lord knows Groening,Stone & Parker need to try something different.
The thing that made alot of the earlier Family Guy gags work for me was the fact that they were unexpected and funny, and not as forced as some of the gags are now. Sure, sometimes a gag can be used more then once and still work, but after awhile it does get stale. This is especially true for a show like Family Guy where the humor is often reliant on being arbitrary.
They were right about one thing in tonight's episode. The fact that it all didn't happen pissed me off. It was okay though. Like basically all the new episodes, okay, not great. This is also one of the few times I agree with Carter. They screw up jokes by using them too much. The chicken gags were okay, the third one streched into five minutes though. Quagmire and Herbert…...no comment.

Gotta disagree on the chicken thing. So long as they limit it to completely random unexpected moments and each is subsequently more obnoxious than the rest, I think it's great.

First they had a somewhat unexpected altercation that parodied multiple action franchises.
Second it came literally the fuck out of nowhere and just went insanse.
Third it also came out of left field BUT not only did it parody itself with the ferris wheel insanity which is even more ridiculous than most other things the show has attempted, but then they added the restaurant scene which was priceless.
That I don't mind really because it's showing growth and development of an idea, plus it only pops up like once a season.
Herbert is literally the same gag over and over with no sign of going anywhere new.
I'll admit it showed promise when they said Stewie took over Chris' route, and it looked like Herbert was gonna have a rival in Stewie, but no, back to Chris and more of the same 'lure the boy out' gags, ho hum.
I don't want to demand a show display something new or I shall not be entertained, but don't become a one-trick pony. South Park parodied themselves awesomely with the whole Kenny thing.
The Kenny thing was retarded by 2001 and when they actually bothered to put it in we didn't even care anymore (neither did Stan or Kyle) but then when they really killed him off for a season, suddenly it was funny and hilarious when he just wandered back in at the end of an episode. I hope the chicken thing goes that route because I think it's one of the best things the show has to offer.

I also love the shin/kneecap thing. That's one of the things I love because it annoys people. It's annoying and stupid and a complete waste of time, which is great that a show with so many viewers would do. I love when shows basically give the finger to standard expectations and that's one thing Family Guy doesn't do too much anymore. It's just too predictable.

I really liked this latest episode. And I knew Stewie wasn't gonna be killed off (c'mon, we all did). Yeah the ending was a cop out, but it was funny that they realised it, and still gave the haters a middle finger. Love when they do that.
And personally, I still like the series. Sure season 3 was awful, but it picked up. But ofcourse, I also knew everyone would start hating it, once everybody else started liking FG.
