Well I find Family Guy one of my favorite TV-shows. There are some bad episodes but like the latest proved, it can still be funny as hell.
Everyone has their own opinions though.
Family Guy: Isn't abuse funny?

-
Didn't Adult Swim run FLCL at some point?
-
Yeah .

Everyone has their own opinions though.Did you enjoy the episode where Stewie made Brian lick his diaper clean for his own amusement, followed by them vomiting and then pointing a gun at each other while declaring that Brian is suicidal?
Hilarious stuff.

To be fair I've seen a lot of people think that as funny.
I like Black Comedy and all, but that whole episode was just awful.
-
Wasn't that the episode where they where trying to prove they could be funny without any cut-away gags?
-

I liked the last part of the episode, not the beginning part. Went a little bit over my humour level with the diaper-thingie. But last part of "Brian and Stewie" was absolutely great. I'm all for making characters little bit "deeper" even in series like this.

So did anyone else see the Christmas special?

Funny funny stuff. :getlost:

What the fuck did I just watch? How in the name of Poseidon's giant blue crank did that greenlighted?
-
Worst Christmas special ever. I think I noted it a page back.
Edit: Hahaha! The people commenting on it think it's hilarious though, and those youtube people always have a great sense of humor!
-
Other then the "Christmas Is Killing Us" song I agree this wasn't anything worthwhile. Same ol Stewie and Brian roadtrip crap. Nothing at all screamed funny to me during their Santa attempt. It just felt like desperation of the writers to make something funny.
-
I've been watching this season.
It's a big improvement from the shit they were airing when it first came back, but still….. :\
-
That special had a lot of heart. I did think it was all that funny either, but I did enjoy the plot a little bit.

So… If someone likes something you don't like, their sense of humour is bad?
Cool. -
The entire episode was ruined during the Brian and Stewie play Santa stint.
I vomited.
I miss when Family Guy was GOOD. When Peter was lovable and a little slow, but not downright retarded, when Lois was a calm and collective mother who played the voice of reason, when Meg was not wasted potential, when Stewie had a gigantic vocabulary and diabolical plots.
Why Family Guy?
Why have you betrayed me?
-
Personally, I also found it kind of weird how at the end of the episode was how they asked everyone to only ask for one present when that wasn't even the problem they had while out delivering presents for everyone. It probably would've been a bit better if they were shown having to deliver over a dozen presents and struggling to carry each of them in each house if they were going with that angle.
So… If someone likes something you don't like, their sense of humour is bad?
Cool.Damn right it is.

I have to agree with this one. I was expecting that kind of ending too…@HiroVoid:

You just approved yourself in my eyes :D

Cool. No, their sense of humor is bad because they like something that is absolutely terrible.

To be fair, the episode where Peter was diagnosed as mentally retarded was hilarious. Petarted I think it was called?

Looking back at it, wasn't Peter technically ABOVE the line of being mentally retarded.
-

Something like that, but it wasn't made so brutally obvious till about season 5. Seasons 1-3 (especially 2) were gold. To be honest I haven't watched the show for a year or two now, but that was always one of my favorite episodes.
-
No, their sense of humor is bad because they like something that is absolutely terrible.
Terrible in your opinion, nee? I like it, you don't, simple as that. I'm sure there are things you like that I don't, should I be telling that you have a bad humour because you like something terrible?
-
Brian and Stewie broke into a house, murdered some kids parents and tied up the kid ruining Christmas for them forever. For literally no reason.
At what point was this funny Hawkolf?

I though it was funny just how wrong everything got. Brian's panicking when trying to find duct tape, way they were in a wrong house and how hard it was to get in.
Why should you find it funny? :D If you get offended by the show, don't watch it.
-
well i thought the musical numbers were good.
-
Remember when Meg was a character?
-
Who's Meg?
-
Chris's stunt double.
-
You guys are playing into Seth's hands… :ninja:
-
Meg is the Tenten of this series.
The problem is this is intentional, which means it stops being funny after maybe the first 2 times.
Like the old pervert guy.
-
I dunno how they can elaborately parody two different Star Wars movies down to the music, fight scenes, backrounds (down to the reflections in the floor) and have such genuine love letters to the films, in hour long specials both times…
and both times the funniest joke comes at the end when Seth Green (as Chris) says "Robot Chicken did it first.", what with RC being his show and all.
And given that Robot Chicken is doing their third Star Wars special like, this weekend, and Family Guy is doing THEIR third Star Wars special in March or April... I'm willing to bet money they do that same joke again.
-

Family Guys third Star Wars special came out already ô__o I watched it last weekend.
-
Ahahahaahahaha, no.
You didn't. Trust me.
-
-
It comes out on DVD next week here, so unless it leaked or released somewhere…
-

It doesn't air on tv till May, and thats the airing that counts. They always change things from the video release to meet syndication format. Didn't realize the dvd was so close.
All though, you just passed up a perfectly good opportunity to take a rigged bet then. I was serious.
Unless… they DID do the exact same joke again?
I suppose Meg is a random monster with no dialogue again too?
-

The second one was horrible, but the first one had some funny parts to it. Like when they called up all of the red team members.
-

… Nooo! Why would you think that! ô__ô ...!!! ...!
-
Well i liked that half a second of Caddyshack that we got. Almost made up for that annoying nod gag.
But other than that it's a trap was pretty meh. Not to bad but nothing great either.
-

But did they reuse the jokes?
-
Nope they didnt talk about robot chicken at all, at the end they just did a bit about the characters breaking the fourth wall or what you wanna call it and talking about how much they hate Green and what a shill Mcfarlane is.
And yes Meg was that thing in the desert that ate Fett.
-

Green as in Seth Green? Then yes, pretty much the same joke.
-
Well i can see what you mean but it didnt really feel like the same joke to me.
The whole thing was along the lines of Peter making a quick comment on how he thinks Seth Green is a douch and then Chris starts up on how much of a talentless dick Mcfarlane is and the rest of the cast chimes in for a minute or two.
-
"My show is better than your show."
"Well I've never heard of your show so mine is better than yours."
"But my show did this first."
"But my show is on a major network."Calling out the Chris character for being Seth Green specifically IS the same joke as before… and what made the Robot Chicken bit funny in the first place.
The first time.
Still, them calling McFarlane a hack sounds like fun.
-

That sounds like Green completely ad-libbing the scene and being completely serious, with McFarlane keeping it in because he thought he was joking.
-
Ah yes, the Star Wars Family Guy episodes. I showed my family the Empire Strikes Back version and they fell asleep watching it.
-
@Cyan:

Well thinking of the beginning text (that every Star Wars movie opens with) Seth had a quite a speech about how they never wanted to do the Jedi or even Empire Strikes Back. :D
-
@RobbyBevard:

You're going to get ALOT of that in it's a trap. The entire scene where Mr.Pewterschmit and Stewie tries to fan Chris's hate to get him to come over to the backside of the force consists of him ripping Seth Greens entire tv/filmography. Except for robot chicken which doesnt get mentioned once in the entire movie.
-

I have to agree.
I actually loved the "X-mas Killing Us" song, and have listened to it a few more times on YouTube. Great song.
The rest of the episode was pure garbage.
-
I came in while Stewie was sawing off a terrified elf's arm to drive the reigndeer. Needless to say I was kind of disgusted.
