Just got the game today and so far i loving every minute. I also bought the walkthrough book and its thick as a bible, there so much in this. If you want a good strategy game this game is a must and the graphic is awsome for a ds game. Also you don't really need to beat Final Fantasy XII, they kinda fill you in during the game.

Don't really need to play FFXII cause they fill you in? In other words it spoils the game due to it being a direct sequel, correct? I consider that a reason to finish FFXII before playing it. Which I'm still quite a bit from doing…like most my games.

They "fill you in" by describing the characters and their relationships and what they do… It's not like the first dialogue of the game is "Well, now that we killed so and so and participated in all the following adventures to be described in great detail, let's star in a realtime strategy game!"

I just got it on Wednesday, and I'm kind of stuck.
! I'm on mission 8-4, and I'm having a bit of trouble with the boss battle. I always manage to take out Chaos and the monsters out just fine, but when I have to fight Mydia, I always lose really quickly. Before then, I usually try to build up Penelo's Quickening, which completely heals all characters and removes all debuffs, but I usually can't. My party (Vaan, Penelo, Kytes, Balthier, and Basch) is approximately level 40. Does anyone have any tips?
