Would y'all (mods and admins) mind if I posted some advice for newbies?
Just some pointers on getting started and stuff.

Suggestion for newbies:
"Read the RULE!!" -
You mean sort of like this topic?
-
Or my FAQ? No one has been helping me with it though I ask for it…
-
well, u could, might help the noobs alot to be quickly accepte in here.
-
Something I'd like to add to the faq is about when to post a useful topic at the right time. Even though there is a part about why a topic would be deleted.
I think newbies should be more alert about the rules because some who haven't been on many forums before might not be too alert about it. It would be difficult to pm each one of them too about 'checking the rules'.
Read the rules new people and that means you!
-
anyway, the FAQs made by SHL and Zio are really good, and i think they say everything that has to be said about the boards.
but sure it could be good to kinda send a mail to the newbies to tell them to read the rules, it's not that i think that newbies are a bother, it's just that i discovered the FAQs something like 6 months, 50 posts, before seeing them, and i should have read them first, i'd have avoided some mistakes.
-
true, maybe we should email all "active" newbies the FAQ and rules or face the boot
-
The FAQ's are written very well and are very helpful. thanks to SHL and Zio for taking their time to write them down.
Just a thought that it could clear the forums up a bit if newbies knew where to go first thing as well.
-
I think the FAQS very helpful.
I like it alot.
You can tell they've put effort and soul into it. -
Maybe post links to all FAQ and Rules in Introduction board and pin it…
-
But I'm not just talking FAQs and Rules.
For example, there's no rule that says not to create a new thread first thing when you get here. But I would suggest first reading and replying to other threads to get a feel for the board first.
There aren't any rules about what to put in the "topic description" field, but I might point out that "lol" is not a topic description. One can leave the field blank unless the topic title needs some sort of clarification.
So it's more pointers and tips that I'm thinking of than an FAQ, per se.
