I have been thinking bout this for quite a while and i was wondering what does to take to acknowledge a person to have complete mastery of his/her D.F. Is it to be able to beat other stronger characters or be able to use it in times of crisis and change the situation to your advantage? Or to be able to get"upgrades" like Luffy's Gears?
Mastery of the devil fruit
-
-
when you
re able to use the full power of your DF…than you
re the masterthis means when you train long enough with your DF-power you will see that their are many differnet ways to use your DF...like you said luffy`s gears....but where the end of this upgrades and so in fact the wholehearted of using your DF is.....nobody knows
-
Also for Logias there is the idea of never being able to be hit.
Smoker has been sucker punched in the past, but I think Crocodile had his dodging always turned on. There's alot of mastery involved in that. -

Not the first 2, those can be done without fruits.
Mastery of ones fruit is the ability to use its powers in creative ways. -
Has anyone else noticed how Sanji's Eyebrow is related to the spiral pattern of the devil fruits? I dunno if there's even a relation, but I found that ironic….
-
I doubt there's a gold standard, really. Luffy can get upgrades through his gears, but it's a mechanism that's pretty unique for rubbermen. I doubt for example Alvida or Bon clay-sama can get anything comparable. Maybe it's creativity… Maybe there is no such thing as "mastering a devil fruit", only such things as "mastering gum gum fruit" or "mastering kame kame fruit", because I'm not sure every fruit leaves much room for individual mastery - and I'm thinking especially zoans here. Fearsome as Rob Lucci might have been, shifting back and forth to that big kitty doesn't seem to be such a mindblowing task.
-
I would consider Crocodile a master of his fruit. He could turn into sand as a reflex to pain. If he didn't have such an easy weakness, he'd have been invincible.
-
Crocodile did overcome his weakness, during the Water Luffy fight, I think Crocodile is a master of his DF.
-

indeed he was.
In fact, he said he was
and he was the first one to mention the idea of "mastering" a DF
-
"That is the level of the shichibukai" I think that was one of the lines he used when talking about his level, & how he can overcome his weakness.
-
Crocodile was nearly unstoppable but water harden him and considering how strong luffy….....well it goes from there.....People say that Luffy Mastered his Df but I don think so...Luffy can do lots more with his DF.And to people who say Rob lucci masterd his fruit...Well he did no master his fruit persay he only mastered the 6 types of fighting.
-
So does it means that just because currently Ace doesnt have an "upgrade" he doesnt have mastery of his D.F?
-
Mastery I think would be to be able to use all attacks possible by owning the fruit.
So one could master a fruit as long as the fruit doesn't allow for any "upgrade".
However something as versitile as a Logia will rarely be mastered. Crocodile "mastered" the untouchability aspect of his fruit. But I'm not sure that he completly mastered all the other aspects of it.

yes
at least in the anime
I started the manga at Rain Dinners
but yeah
it happened

^It was in Arabasta by Luffy with Ace. Not in Logue Town.
-
I've been curious about this, what if Kaku, Lucci, Jyabura, Etc. ate a Rumble Ball? What kind of forms could they come up with? (Although, Kaku seems perfectly capable at that right now XD) And what if another type used it? A paramecia or a Logia?

I'm sorry
I didn't read his post well enough
Yeah. Arabasta
-
If a Zoan fruit user were to "master" their fruit, they would probably be able to transform into more than 3 forms without the use of a Rumble Ball through extensive training or something. It would be pretty cool if Chopper fought against someone like that.

In theory if they ate a rumble ball, they too would have access to all of Chopper's forms except maybe Horn point…only Kaku and Dalton could possibly use that, and even then it's a stretch. Perhaps their bodies would create a different unique point for their bodies. Neck point for Kaku anyone?

Kaku did Shigan by coiling and then extending his neck; that would be somewhat like neck point.

I wonder if Oda will ever draw the Past Characters with Rumble Balls..
I mean, he did actually draw the CP9 as kids, so If someone asks nicely, perhaps he could draw every Zoan usera, excluding chopper, with their respective "points" after eating a rumble ball….

Jyabura will become a many-tail wolf!!!!Tail Point!!!!!Maybe a leg point for Kaku where his leg become even longer!!! Maybe a logia could become Zoan-Logia which i think they have already done it…
Seriously i would like Ace becoming 'blue' flame form, that'll be nice...

I was thinking about this subject, and I've come to the conclusion that true mastery of a devil fruit is letting the devil in the fruit control you. For a Zoan fruit, the easiest way to achieve this must be using rumble balls, and if this theory of mastery is true, then the rumble balls strengthen the devil (hito hito devil in Chopper's case) temporarily, letting it manifest its true form. Achieving mastery of a Logia fruit is letting the devil control you at all times, meaning you're in elemental form constantly, like in Crocodile's case. For a Paramecia fruit, I'm not sure what true mastery would be, but if I had to guess, it would be the devil controlling the power or manifesting itself somehow. The closest example I can make is Doppelman, because the devil in the kage kage no mi is causing Moria's shadow (a 2-D figure) to be a solid figure (3-D).
Of course, this is all purely speculation and is just the product of me having too much free time on my hands.

No, but it kinda makes sense. There's also the thing of personalities being somehow related to Devil Fruits; not in all the cases, but Aokiji is a prime example with his lazyness, so perhaps there's a side effect that one must pay for the power..
There's also Luffy. Some people think that his Rubber Brain is what made him dumber and dumber trough time…....

I'm curous how a (powered up?) "human" devil in controll gives birth to horn point and defense point. those forms doesn't look very human to me

Touche…however, he still retains his human intelligence and has human-like muscles in most of his forms.

To me they're just reindeers in different forms. Thought Lucci could do something like that..
