What do you guys think Oda's plans for Kaido are? He is the only major character named who hasn't made any actual appearance in the series (at least we've kinda seen Vegapunk's lower body). I'm guessing he gets his own arc or 2. I'm still wondering if he is a cyborg or not. I'm guessing he has some WG ties as Drake being a former high ranking marine wanted his attention (I'm speculating he has info about him that is harmful or helpful).
This is completely baseless speculation (in fact lets call a spade a spade, fan fiction on my part) but ever since a couple people began floating around the idea that Drake might be Kong's son (vaguely similar hair, Drake is pretty high ranking for someone so young) I've had this theory that Kong and Kaido might be brothers mostly because I've always been a bit confused by Kong as he's a massive powerhouse who didnt fight in the war and his position seemed to pop out of nowhere at the end of the first half of the series. Remember this is out of nowhere but the way I see it possibly happening is that Kong and Kaido are brothers and that Drake is not Kong's son but Kaido's and Drake left the marines in pursuit of his father Kaido.
Obviously the above theory is pure speculation but I think it might be kinda cool. On another note the whole cyborg theme would be pretty cool and would allow for some great interaction between Franky and possibly Vegapunk.

First, we need to consider why Shanks didn't claim FI for himself in the first place.
It could be that Shanks is simply farther up the Grand Line, near Raftel. shrugsOr Shanks seems to only have the 1 Crew and Ship.
Whitebeared had a massive "family" several captains under him and other Allies - So Whitebeard could protect FI with the amount of people he had. We don't know about Big M, but she sounds like she has several available crews out there.

So here's my…'theory' on the theme of the Big Mam Pirates and the Kaido Pirates.
Big Mam = fantasy (fairytales) + nature (I base this on the Jolly Roger of the Big Mam Pirates, as well as the island Big Mam is located on and what her revealed crew members seem to be based on).
Kaido = sci-fi (robotics) + technology (I base this on the cyborg crew member we've seen, as well as the giant metal moving town/city we saw when Drake confronted said cyborg crew member).

Shanks and crew = older Strawhat Pirates
Blackbeard and crew = evil Strawhat Pirates--- Update From New Post Merge ---
I'm thinking Big Mam may have a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit. A Mythical Hito Hito no Mi, model: Baba Yaga. If you don't know what a Baba Yaga is I'll give you a basic summary: A Baba Yaga is a witch, a witch that is known for eating. It would go well with the fairytale theme her revealed crew seemingly has.
I completely support this, 99.9% through and through.

If he were somehow related to Drake and Kaido, that would be awesome.Oh I get why the role Kong inhabits exists (like you say its required), I always just thought it strange to introduce someone who's clearly a powerhouse (I think he was and admiral or the fleet admiral in Chapter 0) in that role. When I got to that point in the story (around the chapter 590 mark) I saw the role of leading the marines in the final battle falling nicely in the hands of the fleet admiral, back then I considered that if a role like commander in chief existed then it would be fulfilled by someone who was more of 'govt official type' when it was revealed that it was this guy with a bit of back story who clearly looked really strong I was like "ooh he's gonna be important"
In my eyes I see Kong fulfilling at least some kind of role in the rest of the story, and this role could go one of a few ways:
1). As the Sengoku figure in the final war (SHs and allies vs World Govt). I imagine that this war will have more pirates against the govt than at marineford + revolutionary army + assorted allies from other nations (wano perhaps) meaning that the marines alone could not counter such a force. This would lead to the whole govt force getting involved requiring Kong to lead it. In my eyes this would also free up akainu to do less commanding from the back and more fighting Luffy.
This scenario seems the most likely but if it were to happen I would like Kong to have some character development just so we as readers could appreciate him as a villain to luffy.
2). Kong fulfills another role in the story similar to the one I hypothesised in my previous post (Kong/Kaido brotherhood)
This scenario is also likely and would most probably not affect him in his ability to perform scenario 1 in fact it would even flesh out his character a little.Basically I think Kongs gonna perform a significant role in the story (at least Sengoku level) and I think that the Kong/Kaido avenue might be a way to do this. I dont believe there's been a storyline like that in OP before but it is a tad cliched.

I'm not really sure about the back stories, but I want to see a lot more of Drake, BECAUSE HE'S A FREAKING DINOSAUR. Though I do like your Kaido/Kong/Drake ideas.

Kaido(u)'s my favorite Yonko–funny, I know, since we know very little about him--so I thought I'd throw out a question.
Ok. Let's assume for a second that Kaido(u) (and crew) turns out to be a science + technology + sci-fi themed Yonko. If this were the case, would you prefer Kaido to have a Devil Fruit and strong Haki, or, would you prefer Kaido to be a much stronger, far smarter, and way cooler Don Krieg with strong Haki? (Other, outside-One Piece examples include: Ironman, Batman, Boba Fett, Jango Fett etc. etc). If you think Kaido should have a Devil Fruit what do you think that Devil Fruit should be; to stick with the assumed science + technology + sci-fi theme of him (and his crew).
I, personally, think it's highly likely Kaido(u) (and crew) will turn out to be a science + technology + sci-fi themed Yonko, based on what we've seen so far of him (and his crew). This being: A lead–though minor--cyborg crew member ("Iron Boy" Scotch), and a giant, moving, metal domed town/city seen when Drake (and his crew) confronted said cyborg crew member.

The Yonko have intrigued us all since their introduction and they still continue to do so and I love it! These are the big guns that everyone wants to be like and surpass and its pretty obvious as to why. I mean they do what they want, when they want and how they want and they don't even twitch at the name "The World Government". Whitebeard and his "family" was a awesome thing to see. Rare powers, large fleets and a different array of characters, I just found it sad that they had "small" screen/paper time and that they met their demise at M.F.
Then we have Shanks, the man that set Luffy loose onto the sea with dreams! We've seen his crew and from what we can tell they all look bad @$$. I mean Ben Beckman, Yasopp and Lucky Roux are just to legit to quit! The man ended the Marinford War with words and everyone crapped themselves when he said he and his crew would take on whoever was still thirsty for war. However both sides suffered large casualties and the Marines were pooped!
Moving on we have Big Mom and her crew of freak shows. That Bobbin's character makes me laugh with his small chubby-ness and "bobble" head like actions. Oh and that three eyed girl I wonder what ability she has. Big Mom seems quite ruthless herself eating her own crew members and she seems to lack patience. I'm surprised F.I is under her protection but I guess she was the best one to go with at the time. Oh and she's being bullied by Kidd and possibly soon to be Luffy and Law (sucks for her).
Kaido…this man and his crew have so much hype going for them it's ridiculous! I mean people are guessing his abilities and past affiliations like no tomorrow. Apparently the mans a dwarf? That will be interesting to see when the time comes. He slapped Moriah and his crew and he had the two peas and a carrot to intercept Whitebeard before he got to Marineford. Heck he even fought with Shanks but no one really knows how that turned out, hopefully Oda shows us or explains what really happened. I kind of agree with his cyborg theme given what happened when his crew members confronted X Drake and his crew. I have a feeling that Kaido is going to be one bad man... Tactical, sinister, lacks fear and is a ruthless warrior! He'll have respect for his crew and vice versa and he'll definitely give the Straw Hats a hard time (if he meets them). Hopefully he lives up to his hype!
Can you guys see any Yonko alliance forming? I can't see any but I could be wrong! I'd like to hear other voices on this!

I get the strangest feeling Kaido(u) isn't as cold-hearted as we've been hearing, instead, Oda's building him up that way just to show him as…basically...older Franky: Awesome, a pervert, weird, with a dash of engrish. I think Big Mam will be the most ruthless Yonko we see--she ate a member of her crew afterall--possibly Blackbeard. And maybe Drake attacked Kaido(u) to get his attention so that he could join his crew? Seems somewhat plausible; as plausible as the next theory anyway.
But my point is, I think Kaido(u) is going to be a carefree and comedic (funny, not pathetic) Yonko; not cold-hearted. (Maybe Gecko messed with his nakama, so, Kaido destroyed Gecko and his crew; very similar to Luffy and Gol D. before him).

Both Lola and the Risky Brothers say something about Lolas mom being "a really amazing pirate in the New World". lola also gives them her moms vivre card and writes something on it.
If you ask me making Big Mom Lolas mom would be a great way to avoid confrontation and keep the power levels intact. But as I said before, its either this or Kaido is Frankys dad.

Yes, I've heard that theory of Lola's mom is Big Mom. However Lola didn't seem to be of the ruthless and impatient character so it's kind of strange Big Mom is lacking in patience and actually ate one of her crew members just becuase she was getting "excited". Lola and her "mom" have some different personalities then. Also if Lola went missing for so long and if she WAS the daughter of Big Mom would Big Mom not go out and find her? That's what baffels me. However she could be Lola's mother in the sense that Whitebeard is "pops" to his crew. Maybe Lola was a low end division commander in Big Mom's crew and just got sucked in by Moriah. We'll have to wait and see won't we? As for Kaido I can't speculate anything in regards to his possible relation with Franky. If he is his father I want that whole Darth Vader "Franky…I am your father" kind of moment! Hahah that would be awesome!

Kaidou being related to Franky would destroy his reputation. He was portrayed as a ruthless bastard who's truly worthy of the title Yonkou thus I except him to be as portrayed. Making him comedic or even a Franky v2? Not something I'd like to see to be completely honest. We're in the New World after all and it's the Yonkou we're talking about so things won't get settled that easily. One has to fight his way up to the top and defeat the strongest bastards out there to be truly fit as the future pirate king.
That being said- I don't know what I'd think if Big Mam was indeed Lola's mother. Admittedly everything's pointing towards it but I have faith in Oda that we won't go that route. Lola's mom might be some other famous pirate; not a Yonkou but still pretty powerful/famous. -
You can be comedic and still be ruthless bastard, like Shiki in the Strong World movie. He had his comedic moments, but when it came down to it, he was a ruthless legendary pirate

Still. When it comes to comedic/idiotic plus badass/ruthless Yonkou we've already got Shanks and Blackbeard. Those two were shown in comedic scenes but we nonetheless know that they can be cruel guys. And since that's the case I don't want to see the same thing repeating itself with Big Mam and Kaidou. Both seem to be heartless monsters- which is something ridiculously awesome in a Yonkou's case- and that's how I want to see them act as. So far they've been shown as fearsome pirates and I want to see more of that side- fight as fearsome pirates and eventually get defeated/die as such.
It might be my opinion only but Big Mam and Kaidou emit a mysterious and intimidating aura and that's what I love the most about them.As was seen in Shiki's case Oda can make everything work if he wants to but I'd still prefer the above mentioned scenario to take place.

As for Kaidou, we dont really know enough about him to make a good assumption regarding his character traits. Mercilessly taking out Moriahs crew isn't enough either in my opinion (mostly because we all know that Moriah is a genuine douchebag).Agreed, crews get annihilated without a second thought on the grandline, doesn't mean the captain was a douchebag or merciless, it's just the rules of the sea. Your crew either gets conquered and assimilated, annihilated, or wins.

That was without a doubt his biggest mistake since Kaidou- only assuming given the information we have so far- destroyed both Moriah's crew and dream. After that incident he became the lazy and fat bastard we all love/hate.

Question is why does Moriah copy him? Certainly if someone destroyed your "family" you wouldn't spend he rest of your life mimicking your organization after there's, but broken people do strange things I guess, or it could amount to what he felt he needed to do to survive.

Kaido Kaido Kaido! The only Yonko we haven't seen yet. Big Mom is heartless and fat… The three eye girl had the look on her face saying "oh great not again she's so disgusting" when Big Mom was eating her crew mate. Though I suppose she ate a low level crew member. Bobbins came in and causualy talked to Big Mom, just to get it out there he's kind of "not there" as well. The crew full of freaks is just awesome. I think that the Straw Hats will have to work pretty damn hard to defeat her if they try. I have a feeling we won't see Kaido for a while be JUST got to see Big Mom's shadowy figure so yea.

I thought she looked huge, at least Neptune size. But really, we only got to see her compared to Bobbin, and we don't know how tall he is really. A giant with a devil fruit would be a cool change, if it's not her there should be at least one sometime.

That picture of the house is just amazing. I very much hope she has this kind of fruit. The whole luring kids with candy reminds me of CC, which could tie in nicely.

Regarding the topic of Big Mam's size- well I'd say placing her in Whitebeard's league should be alright. We got a glimpse of her size and the big in her title definitely seems to be justified. Oh and nice theory you've got there. Enjoyed reading it.

Being a "Witch" or a "Baba Yaga" is just her theme. She made several strong hints that she possesses a DF with acid or digestion based abilities:

She mentions being able to control her stomach acid. Plus, there's steam or smoke coming out of her mouth when she goes to swallow her subordinate.

If you look at those few pages, all of the sizes seem off. If we assume that Bobbin and his cronies are normal-sized, why is the three-eyed girl so tiny? And if we use Bobbin as a comparison, Big Mom is definitely bigger than Whitebeard, but not giant-sized.
