I've always felt that the equality that matters is the kind that accepts the right for all people, regardless of gender, to live in the manner they want, to work for the goals they want to achieve, and to ultimately strive for a good life. Men and women are not entitled to any and all of these things because of their gender but because they are human beings.

Women aren't physically built to be powerful. They're built to carry babies. That is why men and women's sports are seperate. Would you put a one legged man in a race against people who all had two legs?
This isn't to say that some women can't physically tone themselves up. But that's not what our bodies are made for.

For me equality is something that all humans are born with. It's what levels all human beings in the same plane of judgment. The parameters are rights (the right to choose jobs, the right to choose partners, the right to free-speech, the right to be judged based on one's abilities, etc.). Sex and gender don't come into the equation._

Equal does not mean same. In terms of physical body, the average woman is weaker than the average man, so a mixed sport is actually an unfairness. It's like demanding that men can be pregnant.
The point of egality, IMO, is the amount of respect people put to each other's roles and choices in life. A woman should not be degraded if she wants to be a homemaker, nor should she be discouraged if she wants to do what is perceived as "man's territory". Same goes for man.
