Ichi the Killer….when your manga's protagonist jacks off onto dead bodies you know you've run out of ideas for a cool hero.
-
To me there really isn't the worst manga just the manga I dislike. I think it was Digimon manga that I once got, it wasn't so bad but worse than I expected :( another manga I was a little dissapointed was the story line in Magic Knight Rayearth. It just babbeled on about the princess though the art was magnificint. lack in story thats all.
-
Rave Master…
Or maybe those pokemon comics.... -
I actually would've rather read pokemon special rather than digimon. o.0
-
there's a couple series that i haven't been able to complete…
bastard!!
getsu mei seiki
wangan midnight
city hunterooshi78
-
Ichi the Killer isn't the worst… but it's probably something I wish I never read. Some of the stuff in there can make you physically ill. Intriguing I guess, but really fucking sick.
Other than that I've never read something I think is awful, since I usually only read the first few volumes and if I don't like it by then, I don't continue.
-
Everything in Raijin comics. Especially Baki the Grappler.
-
OP.
Kidding.
Seriously, Lupin III, and Scryed. (Or whatever) -
Tokyo mew mew and Sailor moon, never liked action girl manga…
-
Question. The topic title reads, 'NO BASHING!11"
How is one supposed to express his/her contempt for a particular manga if his/her right to critisize it is relinquished? Hm?
-
Criticize or explain your feelings, but don't be like "this 1 waz foking gey!!1!"
I really don't like Shoujo, so things like Fruits Basket would be on my list. Love plots just make me tired. If I'm going to read a comic, it's going to be about something far out or exciting.
Baki…...isn't very good, either. The characters seem one dimensional, and the plot isn't nearly as important as the action, which I don't even like.
-
the anime was pretty good though.

666 Satan came to top of my mind. I disliked the series, reading it was a torture. Even if it was a parody, which it unfortunatly wasn't, it failed in all aspects of originality. Mindless and dry. I would like to say something good about it too but, sorry, I really don't think there is anything.
-
Gantz was way fucking gay man.
-
Gravitation was gay…really.

With all the mindless random sex they have in Gantz it can't really be called gay anyways… :P
-
DN angel has to be the worst ive read so far,
i pushed my thru 4 volumes and then i stopped cause i realized that i was bored beyond belife
-
Hikaru no Go. I gave it a chance, but it is boring as HELL.
-
HnG is a bit boring, but I don't hate it.
With all the mindless random sex they have in Gantz it can't really be called gay anyways…
…...That was my favorite part.
-
I can't really think of any manga I hated.
-
The mindless sex wasn't the problem…..it was....when.....
All the weirdos with weird special powers that had nothing to do with Gantz started popping up.
There was the giant DBZ muscle guy.
There was the phychic boy who had punks have the gym teacher rape him (how realistic)
And then that long haired prick turned himself into a giant black-man and somehow single-handedly killed hundreds of people with a machine gun in the middle of a busy city street in broad daylight without running into a single cop or swat team.....and...I stopped reading that stupid series. It insulted my intelligence by making me think it was deep and philosophical (this was enforced by some of its crazed fans, telling me that the behavior in it was "realistic". And that the scene with the fakeblackmangunmassacre was incredible)
Eventually I realized that in reality it was both stupid and no humans who aren't insane would say "Hey cool!' when a sleepy hobo fell on the subway track.
-
I don't think it ever tried to be realistic or make you think, that's why I liked it. That psychic, the gay guy, and the big fighter were all cool, imo. But the evil killer offended me. Not because he turned black, but because he was so lame. If the series had gone in any other direction, I'd still be a fan.
-
I stopped reading it when the Fanged dudes showed up. Frankly I'm astonished I read it for that long…
-
LoveHina
however I did read all the volumes
just to look at boobs and panties
which I think is the sole reason of that manga…what?? I was hormone pumped
-
hmmm…
Some of them have been named already, I think. FuRuBa, for one. Definitely worth mentioning. Although, I did stick around for Ayame and Shigure. They were the only good things to me from that manga/anime series. Tohru was too...stupid. I mean, she really was. And I get the impression that we were supposed to think Yuki and Kyo were cool. But of course they were miles and miles away from cool. They were…the Backstreet Boys in robot costumes. That's how lame their attempt at coolnes was...
There's Angel Sanctuary. Actually, anything that comes out of Kaori Yuki pains me. She tries too hard and her works pay the price. Her plot, imagery and character designs and development are forced.
Hah...must be more...maybe I'll remember later.

Love hina wasn't bad. that was one of the funniest mangas Iahve ever read!

Love Hina, in my mind, is the male equivalent of rabid fangirl's crazy yaoi. It's exploitive, portays the gender in ridiculous ways…and isn't actually funny. IMHO, of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Definitely up there on my my worst manga list, though.
-
love hina is in my opinion hilarious but it gets a little old since its basicly the same joke with keitaro walking in on the girl when they are either nude or in their panties,
still just cause it gets a little old i wouldnt say its the worsta manga ever.
-
Love Hina? Funny?
 I musta missed something.
To say that the gags get old would be a severe understatement.
-
ah come on are you trying to tell me that youve read the entire love hina manga and didnt even giggle once ?
IMO its both hilarious and kinda romantic and its a great read so for me it doesnt even come near being the worst manga ever it isnt even on the top 20 :P
-
Groove Adventure Rave, didn't really like it that much.

Eh, not to say they're horrible, I just don't see myself reading those kinda things. Not even shonen love stories.Yeah, I got it. Well, I find the shonen love stories way worse than shojo. I never made through the first chapter of Ichigo, Chobits or Love Hina. In my mind those things shouldn't have never even touched the face of the earth, so cheesy and puffy they are. Anyway, there are some good females' comics too which doesn't directly concern the subject of love -as there would be something bad about it ^_^- for example Nodame and Helter Skelter.
Ichi and Gantz aren't really liked, eh. I did enjoy Ichi a lot, I did also find it somewhat clever, even though violence never fits me. And while Gantz has a nice idea, it really didn't hold me on a grip long enough, heavy computer graphics were a big turn off too.
-
I thought Love Hina was funny but sometimes got a bit repetitive because Keitaro always ended up flying through the sky. But the only thing I didn't like too much about love hina was Naru's certain charactistic, a bit of a bull head and doesn't listen too well though at times shes a sweet heart. ^^;
I think card/board game based mangas are a bit of a let down for me because I get bored of them really. Especially Hikaru No Go. I mean the arts amazing but I think a story about the game Go isn't fun (probably not so fun playing it myself frankly). I also thought that ever since after the first volume of Yu-Gi-Oh it was a bit of a let down :(
-
Flcl has to be the worst manga i've ever read. The art is slopy and it doesn't really make since.

**OK, for one thing, just because a character has muscles doesn't mean its like DBZ. If there's one thing I hate, it's the endless comparisons with DBZ. A character throws a punch and it's DBZ. I can't stand it.
Back on topic, none of these things really bothered me. It was fun to read. I couldn't really care less how unrealistic and stupid is was, because it was cool, and that's all I really wanted out of it. If I wanted to think, I could read Naoki Urasawa manga, which I do (When I can find the scans <_< ). Sure it would probably be better if the plot made sense, but it doesn't really bother me that it doesn't. I don't read it religiously like I do OP or something, but when I'm in the mood for it I check if there's a chapter. However I agree with that whole Kei's brother is in a gang of vampires thing. Really, this is sci-fi, so keep it sci-fi.

He was just using DBZ as an example of the guy's appearance, not comparing it to Gantz. -_-

I honestly don't get why people think that manga is god. Its about a boy who's possessed by a 1000 year old ghost and all they do is play a game. Its YuGiOh with checkers! So boring. But I'll say one nice thing about it so I'm not considered bashing. Yuki is freaking awesome.

Aww.. Furuba is, like, the only girly manga I read… er, well, that and Tenshi na Konomaiki... but that one's not as girly as it seems ^^; I like the Furuba manga way more than I cared for the anime, but I'm also a huge fangirl for Haru and Hatsuhari. ^^;_

**Blame the religous fans for making me frustrated and mad.
THEY said it was realistic and deep. And I wondered what they saw that I didn't.
Anyway, the whole thing had this cynical….dark edge that didn't have much more to it. Everyone was a goddamn jerk. Except the tall kid, but they portrayed him as kind of wimpy.
Its bark was bigger than its anticipated bite. So shame on it.I refered to him as DBZ like to poke fun at how out of place he was, like that Akira kid who got raped.
You have a point. It did have a cynical dark edge and the characters were all jerks. It also seemed like the author was trying to make kei into a more and more likeable hero, but sorta failing. But like I said, I've always just read it for fun. Not for story or characters. Although I must say, it is going a little dry in recent chapters.
And ok, the DBZ comment was justified, I was just sorta ranting about how that pisses me off._ -

Hikaru no Go. I gave it a chance, but it is boring as HELL.While it's not my favourite series, it's still far away from the worst. The comic has actually pretty light theme anyway, for example it could be easily changed to fighting and it still would be almost the same disregarding the surface. Hiraru no Go has really nice character development and interaction, I suppose that's reason why it's so popular. Again, I don't mind the board game theme as it's one of the hobbies of mine :P, although abstract games like Go really don't make into my top 10.

I haven't read a lot of different titles, but of the ones I've seen Astro Boy is the most boring of them all. I read the first volume of the new version, and I thought the pacing was bad, as well as the characters (except Atlas).
And on a side note: I really like love Hina; Every other month I buy a new volume, and I laugh every time. Granted, they're not that good after 3 reads, but when everyone thought Keitaro and Mutsumi had had sex…Priceless, Priceless.
-
Angel Sanctuary.
No, seriously. I don't think I've ever wished for a first volume of a manga to end, right there. It's depressing, zany, and totally just looking to shock people.
I'm all for shock value, but this is just a poor attempt at annoying people, especially those of the Religious persuasion. Besides that, it rips off Hokuto No Ken, Rei's Nanto Suichoken technique, if we have to get down to telling it like it is.
No, really. If this is the best Bishoujo Manga has to offer, count me out. People are entitled to their own opinions, but I found the art to be poor quality, the storyline ridiculous, and I don't think I really cared about any of the characters. Especially not the two tanned transexual weirdos.
One to miss. But, lovely premise, though.
-
Ninku.
i just read 1 volume but the drawing was bad, i didn't like the main character and the story meant nothing. (well one or 2 pages were good anyway)

**Yeach, I've heard enough of Angel Sanctuary to ensure I'll never read it. The art looks nice though.
-
I forgot to mention Pitaten. Sure the art work was sweet but the story just a bit cliche to me (I've read Wish before hand). The only character I liked was Misa but the rest was just… plain annoying to me. I think the author may have needed to put more story development within.
Angel Sancturary was a bit boring. The beggining was neat though.
