I don't think 4Kids bought out Kids WB. CW just nixed the block in favor of 4Kids' programming. Its still fairly strange, though, since 4Kids already has a programming block on the rival FOX network.

Well, while that may sound bad but since I have not watched WBkids since 1999 and I was no longer interst in it. And Saturday morning cartoons that's been around for 50 years are now dead. I remamber we use to have weekdays afternoon cartoons but now there gone so I would not mind them anymore. That means I won't be watching what 4Kids makes.

You've got to be kidding me. I always thought that 4Kids had a terrible block, and now they acquired WB as well? I dread any new DC cartoon that might be created in the future.
Doesn't matter to me though, Saturday Mornings haven't been entertaining in years.

Good for 4Kids, maybe they'll be able to pull themselves out of the slump they've been in. This might also be good for Toonami since it won't have to compete with KidsWB in ratings anymore - if the shows on 4Kids are different from what's on CN, we might see more variety on both channels.

Yeah but there's a point at which people just hate 4Kids because other people hate 4Kids. I mean, yeah, they pretty much screwed with their One Piece dub, but they haven't done anything horribly wrong to incite "4Kids should die in a burning pit in hell"-esque remarks.

A lot of what 4Kids dubs isn't good, but some of it is decent and a lot of people bash on them not because they did not enjoy 4Kids work, but because it's "cool to bash 4Kids". This is why I defend them - I don't like stupid trends like that.
In the distant past there were companies that made even more atrocious abominations against humanity, like Harmony Gold's Robotech, but if I bring it up people don't know what it is and don't care. How can people claim to be the vanguard of "faithful" anime when they don't give a darn about Robotech, I wonder. Especially with it accumulating some popularity again.
Cardcaptor Sakura falls under the same category as Robotech but to a lesser extent - fewer people nowadays really care about Nelvana's dub than seven years ago.
Not to mention "Al Kahn should die and go to hell for producing the One Piece dub" just shows how horribly rabid the OP fanbase was.

4Kids has essentially ruined any anime they've picked up. It has nothing to do with One Piece, really. There's nothing wrong with hating a corporation that has absolutely no respect for the series they dub.

Labels such as anime are meant for adults, they mean nothing to children. You are not the intended audience for those "cartoons" and as far as most Americans would be concerned, you shouldn't be watching them. Therefore, you don't really have grounds for complaining.
The only deal people should gripe about is 4Kids not make amends for "anime fans" by providing uncut DVDs, something FUNimation capitilized on and I believe may be a shot in the foot. If MediaBlaster's couldn't find a market for GaoGaiGar, 4Kids won't make any money catering to angry words on the tubes.

Meh, I only dislike 4kids for their dub of One Piece, it's all right if they go into dubbing kodomo anime since it's has lack of fanservice, they won't have to edit that much, and it's right up their alley.

Putting the quality (or lack there of) aside, this whole thing still seems like a stupid move. Its been shown from time and time again that the Saturday morning block as a whole has really been going downhill in the ratings. Why continue to make a failing investment? Kids actually DO things on Saturdays mornings :P

Well, I think most OP fans were disappointed with the changing of plot lines, removal of certain characters and arcs all together, and the overall change of the series more than "NO NAMI-SAN STABBING HERSELF IN THE ARM!?!?! BLASPHEMY!"
I'm half agreeing with you. Most of the series 4kids does aren't that great to begin with, and are just being dubbed so kids can watch some of their favorite game characters as cartoons. but I mean doing that to shows that obviously weren't meant to be like that(like when you have to change plot occurances and take out characters) is bound to attract some hate.
4Kids aren't Satan's curse on the anime world, but I mean still…

Since nobody bothered to point this out, I thought I would.
From almost the very start of the merger with Time Warner, Cartoon Network wasn't allowed to compete with KidsWB. In fact, that was the whole reason Toonami lost its weekday time slot as it was direct competition for the WB's afterschool block. If anything, the steps that Warner took to prevent competition between the two were the first steps towards Cartoon Network's fall from grace to where it currently languishes behind Nickelodeon and Disney Channel.
This is only good for Toonami if some bozo at Time Warner doesn't screw them over by signing a deal with 4Kids with provisos that will prove beneficial to their stake in CW at the expense of Cartoon Network. Seeing as how the latter has been the red-headed stepchild of that particular media conglomerate from the very start, there's a good chance that will be the case.

You know to be honest I really don't see what's wrong with 4kids entertainment getting KidsWB. Doesn't that just mean their gonna air twice as much crap and lose twice as much money when people who still watch KidsWB stop watching WB because of 4kids thus creating profit loss in WB, getting them kicked off of that station and put them that much closer to bankruptcy?

The only shows on the network I care about anymore are Legion of Superheroes and The Batman, and luckily neither is being cancelled. HOPEFULLY, this means that these two shows will find their way to Jetix or ideally Toonami.

You know, I'm convinced we'll do more against terror by air-dropping tankobans and model kits over trouble spots (give the kids something other than 24/7 non-stop fanaticism to think about), so maybe stopping bad dubs are a key element in the war on terror. We need to export something that can hold their interest!
But seriously, Saturday mornings have gone in the crapper for me. The last series I really went for was Jackie Chan Adventures, though The Batman is decent (same character designer as I recall). I don't as much care for the Legion of Superheroes, because it just seems like too much of a "group show" – the individuals are not loveable like the leads of OP or ES21.
Weirdly, we always got KidsWB on Saturday and 4Kids on Sunday, same channel.

I'm guessing that the 2008-2009 season will be a transition season for 4Kids, since that's the last year in their current Fox contract and the first year in their five-year contract with Kids WB. They'll probably move their new shows to Kids WB because of the extra hour and just burn off their last year on Fox with reruns. I don't see why they would maintain two Saturday morning blocks long-term, it would probably be too pricey to turn a profit.
If this means that Ultimate Muscle finds its way back onto the air, then I'm glad, otherwise I don't really care because I never watched Kids WB in the first place.
As for all the 4Kids hate, yes, they make crappy programming and ruin series, yadda yadda yadda, but for some reason I just find it hilarious whenever a kid who can't spell worth shit complains about the time Kahn said that kids don't read.
