We discovered that Blackbeard is not only alive, but became a Shichibukai thanks to doing something 'amazing' (ie. killing Fire Fist Ace) so what do you think he's up to now? His plan was to beat Luffy and turn him in to the world government, but have the plans changed? What do you think his next move is?

bb knows that luffy is aces brother at the very least…ace told him before the fight after hearing that bb wants to go after luffy.
i dont think that luffys battle with blackbeard is ready to happen yet. i can see bb being the final battle. and obviously to become a shicibukai bb had to impress them so thats why ace was placed there...odas pretty smart. im sure bbs original intent to become a warlord was to hand luffy to the wg.

i hope maybe blackbeard just flew after the final attack leaving it as a draw. the logical thing would be to say that ace is either dead or w the WG but i doubt that thats what happened. odas unpredictable for the most part. we wont see this one coming. knowing that the WG has eyes every where seeing that Bb was able to fight equally with ace, 2nd commander of WBs fleet was enough for them. o how the ace fans would rejoice if he turned out alive and well.pretty safe to say BBs plan is moving right along.

Mihawk, possible. Shanks… not so likely all things considered.
Anywa, Teach is basically an arc behind Luffy right now; he still needs a proper ship as well as a shipwright. Depending on how high Ace's bounty is, he'll probably use that to purchase the materials needed to build a ship as well as pay for the construction whether he gets it from Galley-La, somebody in the World Government's custody, or some other source entirely.
Beyond that, he's probably working on adding some more people to his crew. Considering the fame that comes from his new status, Teach'll probably try to recruit from the Shichibukai (World's Strongest Swordsman would be a nice addition) or the higher ranking members of the various Yonkou crews.

It really raises the question of how the World Government can be so cocky in the first place, considering they are 'using' these super-powerful pirates. What makes them so sure that they can handle it? The admirals? It's strange.
But as for Blackbeard, he seems to have a similar ambition-level to Luffy, which means I think he'll already be chasing after Luffy again, or preparing for the counter-attack from Whitebeard.

Sure they would beat down any other Shichibukai. But honestly I don't think they will be the one giving a beat down if he strikes at the right moment. If the Shichibukai we've seen so far can go as far as they've gone without government finding out I'm afraid it might be to late when he strikes. His DF is just so powerful, and he hasn't even fully mastered it yet.

That's a rumor started by information about a shichibukai we havent even seen yet. The information we have about moria, doflamingo and BB speak against it though.
Moria even say to Kuma, to tell the WG, that the strawhats will be part of his crew.
Besides. BW was a bunch of recruited Bounty hunters. they werent pirates.

That's been proven false now that Kuma has confirmed that Gecko Moria's activities and crew were known by the WG. The shichibukai can have a crew, commit crimes and do whatever the hell they want as long as they don't get in the WG's way and stick around the Grandline.
Baroque Works was kept a secret because if the WG had discovered that Crocodile was heading up a militaristic organization attempting to overthrow a WG member state and obtain a forbidden weapon, he would have had the entire Marine Corp on his tail trying to bring him down. His plan to take over alabasta as a savior protecting people from anarchy would have failed if he had been a known mob boss, ran his organization from the shadows.
It would have worked if it hadn't been for those dang kids and that pesky smoker too.
Oh, and Blackbeard is probably building up supplies and equipment in order to make a run on the New World. He'll probably get a marine built ship with a seastone hull, a whole bunch more pie, and a free pass over the Redline.

The whole matter with Croc was confusing to me but thanks for clearing it up. As for Moria…I knew he still had his crew and still aspires to be Pirate King, but my guess is as long as their aspirations don't intersect with the WG's desires, then they can get away with anything...and that is what Blackbeard obviously wants.

well we all know that morias job was to detect and to eliminate all pirates who come across. If you read 374 that should be clear.
So what i want to say is, that Moria also betrayed WG to become Pirate King, so did Croc, but it is unsure if he wanted to become pirate king. In my eyes, all Sichibukai only work along with WG to fullfill their own plans. As for Kuma…well hes kinda different.BB sure is gonna betray WG too, but did you noticed, that BB and Ace have some kind of relation to each other? I mean, when they fought, BB acted like hes close to him. Thats really turning things for me. He sure did not killed ace, they are family afterall.
Sooner or later, Luffy will face Blackbeard, and that will be a f****** long arc. Like Crocs.

He is already the strongest man, nobody knows it. Now all he needs is the info how to get to Raftel and one piece, and being a shichibukai is a perfect way to gather it. He has no business with WB, WB in his eyes is only one failed Pirate that's all.
Edit:ac3, Luffy and Ace hasn't been confirmed as 'full blood' brothers so Dragon might not be his father or Luffy and Ace doesn't share same mother. WB's name is Edward Newgate, BB's Marshall D. Teach.

This is an interesting way of looking at that. I assumed that Kuma knew something about the "darkness darkness" fruit, and that Blackbeard was too dangerous, but that Kuma would be predicting the wrath of Whitebeard is also intriguing.
I had always been under the impression that Shichibukai had to leave their crews and not start up a new crew officially, but I guess that's because of the impression I got from Don Quixote and Jimbei…

I remeber this was brought up in an earlier chapter thread, so yeah I agree with the difference in Crocodile and Moria's present situations. Although I sorta disagree with Crocodile getting arrested even if they did find out about Baroque Works.
I mean the organization was made up of mainly bounty hunters who took down pirate crews for their bounties to maintain their resources. So technically he's doing what a Shichibukai is "supposed" to do. I mean during the meeting in Marejoa Donflamingo mentioned he was handling "revolutions." Sengoku didn't really have a problem when it was said.
Only way I see the World Goverment taking down Crocodile is if he actually got ahold of Pluton with no Marines showing up. The only reason he was arrested after Luffy beat him is because Marines were already at the scene when the rebelllion was actually going on. Since it was so crucial to maintain a balance I think he would've kept his title had Smoker not been there.

What Blackbeard is doing now? Since he's got the position, Blackbeard will probably start getting ready to go for the New World. He's a patient man, we know that since he waited so long in Whitebeard's crew to get the Devil Fruit he wanted. He's getting ready to make his move though. I wonder what his ship will look like, and if he gets anymore crewmembers.

now im all confused about the "whether or not shichi's can have a crew" debate. i seem to remember someone saying arlong having been in the eastblue because jinbei's crew disbanded (because he was named shichi?).
then it seemed like kuma and mihawk dont have a crew. but doflamingo and croc had unoffical crews (BW, New Age pirates).but moria has a huge crew,and it seems like TB is always isolated and the WG has no way to really keeps tabs on him (other than kuma…)
when kuma first showed up, i thought he was there to punish moria for having such a powerful underling as odz...

It's just on a crew by crew basis I think. Jinbei probably had some reason to split the crew up that we'll learn when we get to fishman island.
Whatever Blackbeard's planning it's gonna be big. I'm still assuming that when his Shichibukai status reaches Whitebeard's ears, he'll move his crew to attack the WG to get to him which is exactly what Blackbeard wants.
